Thanks zoidyzoid for recommending Creature Comforts, that was a top show. Very, very funny and clever.

I'd rather watch Family Guy than the golf, but I'd watch golf ahead of crappy American sitcoms they usually have in the middle of the day.

Oh, and I watch Happy Tree Friends last night. It was goddamn awful. I expected it to be good.

Glad to hear you enjoyed Creature Comforts, apparently it'll now be on at 9:15 Monday nights  :)
Also, for those who haven't already done so I recommend checking out the short film of the same name that the series was built on.

On the subject of Happy Tree Friends, well, I'm not a fan. Cartoon violence can be funny, but Happy Tree Friends manages to go a bit too far for my liking. I'm not offended by it as such, but the violence is a bit too explicit and gory for me to find humour in. I find it all a bit disturbing, to be honest. It's like the antisatirical version of Itchy & Scratchy, going further and with less tongue in cheek humour.

I'm not really bothered by the violence in Happy Tree Friends, I just don't really find the show that funny.

Are any of you watching the new series of Queer as Folk on sbs at 10pm on mondays?  I've always loved the show, and no i'm not a young gay man but a hetero single young woman, i just reckon the acting and characters and stories and filming of it is brilliant!  I missed last weeks tho due to a xmas party, anyone know what happened, or does anyone care?

It's a soap opera. Except that most of the protagonists are gay.

Also, there's lots of gay sex.

I didn't find it that wonderful, really.

I don't mind it, it is better than most soap operas. And you just need to know when to cover your eyes for the man on man action, and hit the record button on the woman on woman action.

Has anyone else been watching Spooks (10:20 on Saturday nights, ABC)? Great show.

I wish that accountant guy called Wallace didn't get assassinated. He was so awesome. Actually, everyone was awesome, but he was the awesomist. And that bit when he shoves the hitman off the roof.  :D

Family Guy was pretty good today. "Who's that guy?"

Iron Chef is off for the summer though, so I've taken my love to Bittorrent. If you ever have the chance to see the Octopus Battle 2, take it. Best 40 minutes of TV ever.

Alex, you have an extremely unhealthy obsession with Iron Chef.  :p

Anyway, I watched Family Guy today. They're showing Season 3, and I am SO fucking sick of those episodes. Lemme explain...

In August/September-ish, The Comedy Channel (which screens Family Guy daily at 5:30pm) finally bought Season 3 of the show. They aired it once in the wrong order, then aired it again straight after in the right order. At first, I thought they were only airing it twice because they screwed up the order, and then would go back & re-screen the show in its entireity with all 48 episodes in tact (I know they made 50, but they don't show When You Wish Upon A Weinstein or A Very Special Family Guy Freakin' Christmas). This means that there are 20 episodes in Season 3. However, they haven't re-played the first 2 seasons since buying Season 3... So, for the past 4 or 5 months, they've just been showing Season 3 of Family Guy over & over again. It's just annoying...

Still, good to see that Channel 7 are showing it again, even if it is at a stupid time. Maybe it's a sign that they might show Season 4 next year?

Hay, I didn't now they were showing the old Water Rats on 9 at 2am.

The movie was pretty cool.

I had an uncle who would sit with a footrot flats book and meticulously colour each strip with coloured markers.

Actually, I still have that uncle, except he has a job and kids and stuff now which means he no longer colours in comic strips. A shame really...

Alas, I can't remember much of the movie, 'cept for the themesong...

Fucking channel 7 fooling around with my late night scrubs. Its only on once this week. Arrested devolopment is only on twice.

The Amazing race is pretty good. With a theme song only rivalled by the old premiership theme.

ARGHGHGHHH!!!!! I am so pissed off... I mean, we've all grown used to Channel 7's shitty logo being in the bottom right corner of the screen for all of their programs, but now Channel 10 have stooped to their level too and placed a Ten watermark in bottom left corner of the screen! WHY?!?!?! Are they afraid that someone might not know what channel they're watching? Well we DO fucking know, you flash your fucking piece of shit logo over the fucking screen about 10 times every fucking commercial break! It's not like people can steal your material either - when other channels play clips from their network, they're already legally responsible to credit Channel 10 anyway.

And the watermark is so conspicuous too, especially over dark backgrounds. God, if the person who invented the watermark is still alive, I hope they die a horrible, painful death. Now I know that murder is illegal, hence why I would never commit it - but if I had one day left to live, I would find the guy who made the decision for Channel 10 to have a watermark, and I'd take that fucking son of a bitch down with me. I hope they're reading this right now, because if they are - YOU ARE A CUNT!!!

Insane rant over.  :p

Those shows are often dull, boring and lifeless without a laugh track though.

I personally don't even notice the watermark. Except in this one episode of Iron Chef I downloaded, there are two watermarks (both the same) on the screen at the same time in one part of the episode. And one of them is massive. Now THAT's annoying. It was the 'Legend Of Michiba' episode too.

I just watched The Simpsons at 7:30 10 minutes ago and I noticed the ten logo. AARRGH!! I thought channel 10 was decent! Now it's degraded itself to channel 7 and 9's level?!? For shame.

Channel 10 used to be decent about 3 or 4 years ago, before it got swept up with the reality fad & just started catering to the lowest common denominator... or the highest, I forget how it goes.  :p

All commercial TV does that. The lowest common denominator is the easiest to persuade to buy useless crap.

Personally, I think the inherent quality of a TV network can be summed up by the quality of their news. Ten is a complete joke in that regard.

They do, however, have old episodes of The Simpsons and Seinfeld. But once I have all of those on DVD, I'll never have to watch commercial TV again.

Also very disapointed at Fox8's Future"Fest" i hardly call 2pm to 7pm a "fest" i was expecting like a weekend of back to back futurama, Bastards. hmm i spose ill just have my own Future fest with the DVD's, with blackjack and hookers!

EDIT: haha, i only just realised that last joke i stole from futurama

Anybody know why Family Guy stopped airing on Seven yesterday? Was it the season end or due to complaints?
Oh, and 'That 70's Show' rocks.
"What is it that girls want more than anything else?"
"Umm... sugar and spice and everything nice?"
"Michael, you dumbass, that's what we're made of!"
EDIT: Not an exact quote, by the way. That episode was on several weeks ago. It might have been Eric she was talking to, come to think of it.

Just wait for 'school bags are wrecking kids backs' that is always on at the start of the school year.

They seem to not be milking New Years Eve very much, only about half and hour or something of tv... they're showing Robbie Williams instead.
