And Friday's the final episode of Jonathan Creek on ABC. I love that show. Nobody beats the British when it comes to mysteries.

Any show which has Danse Macarbe for its themesong has got to be a winner in my book.

This thread is nearing a year old. Check the first page. I doubt seven will bring back the awesome Summer. Remember 10's summer of movies. That was pretty good. Was hell on my sleeping patterns though.

I hope they dont Beat scrubs like a dead horse as is the custom in America. Its possible they might let it die with dignity ala British Comedy. I can see the signs.

Cop shows are crap. There's too bloody many of them, i used to watch Blue Heelers when that was the only half decent one; This is about 7-8 years ago, mind you.

However, i always laugh when i hear that voice on SVU (?) say "These are thier stories" in that hilarious low monotone.
Worst voice ever.

Haha, Grim im sorry. But cunt is like the fuck of old. In 5 years teachers will be saying it. English teachers atleast.

Oh and cunt means vagina kiddies. Its not offensive when you put it into context. Fuck means fornication. The whole concept of swear words is just obsurd.

History teachers, for sure. My teacher last year: "The English came over and blew the fuck out of the fucking aboriginies". True story.

As for TV, now there is no Safran, there is nothing worth watching on. Though SVU rocks tonight. It involves kids, and MP3 players.

Did I mention I hate that midget from the amazing race. Did anyone watch 'air crash investigation' the other night on seven. It was great, a combination of bad acting and real life plane crashes.

Damn Blue Heelers. Until recently it was pretty entertaining, but since they changed half the cast it's gone severely downhill.

Worst voice ever.

I beg to differ. The worst voice ever is that incredibly annoying guy who announces the trivia questions & answers on 10's All Time Greatest Simpsons.

Hey, what's been with The All Time Greatest Simpsons lately anyway? For the past 2 weeks, just about every episode they've aired has been from Season 9, with the exception of Deep Space Homer and Treehouse of Horror IX.

The best voice over guy is, without question, Mr SBS.

I love Mr SBS! He does some voice overs for ads on channel 9 or 10 as well. But the All Time Greatest Simpsons voice over guy is most goddamn annoying voice on television. And the order the episodes have been on lately are in the correct viewing order for Season 9 anyway. They're just showing the entire Season 9 all over again. Still love Deep Space Homer though, but I could swear this is the second time they've shown it.

I'm pretty sure The All Time Greatest Simpsons voice-over guy is the usual Channel 10 voice-over guy, he's just putting on an annoying voice. What pisses me off the most about him is the way he pronounces the episode titles - he always adds in unncessary pauses & acts as if the last word of the title is really sexy... It pisses me off.

How would you feel if I told you his address?
The final Jonathan Creek was on last night. I love that show. I'd just like to point out that when I first saw the videotape of the girl, I thought she was being murdered, not having sex. Then they were all talking about her having sex and I was like, "Oh, sorry, my mistake". Then it turned out I was right to start with.

Actual trivia question from "Simpsons roasting on an open fire":

[Annoying voice] In this episode what did Bart get tattooed on his arm?

The answer: a moth [Av]

*shudders*

Anyway, I checked the TV Guide for the next week, and they're going onto Season 10 on The All Time Greatest Simpsons this week - they're showing the first few episodes directly in order, with the exception of Treehouse Of Horror IX, since that aired last week.

If all they're doing is airing the episodes in order that they can't air at 6:00pm, I just don't understand why they don't just put all of Seasons 1-12 on rotation at a 7:00pm slot (Aside from Natural Born Kissers, which got an M rating for some reason, even though I bought a PG-rated Simpsons compilation tape that featured it).

Iron Chef was classic tonight. Some crazy looking Japanese deep sea fish was the special ingredient

My favourite (mis)quotes...

"All the six dishes, to use a golfing metaphor, are like a tee shot."
Worst metaphor ever.

"The combination of the two flavours... it creates another universe."

Iron Chef Japan's cuisine reigned supreme on the night.

Hah - I don't believe this, but the very week after us all talking about how much we hate The All Time Greatest Simpsons' voice-over guy, every episode of this week's run so far has been voiced by a different person! Either the regular guy was unavailable to record the clips for these episodes, or someone at Channel 10 is spying on us... If the latter is true, I'd just like to add that the new guy sucks just as much too, if not more - he's just putting on a stupid voice that's equally as annoying as the first person's, only this guy sounds more uneasy when he does it.

Furthermore, I'd like to tell the Channel 10 spies that postponing the finale of this season of The Simpsons is just plain stupid considering you've stopped and started this season so many times this year, and that Australian Idol is a piece of shit.  :p

I think it's actually just the same guy, but he's toned it down. Frankly, I never really watched the All Time Greatest much anyway, and if they're just going to be showing mediocre Season 9 episodes, I'll pass.

I dont watch much simpsons anymore. I watch it on sunday mornings sometimes. I nearly vomited when I saw the 'touchdown' thing mark holden does on aussie idol. I wouldnt mind if he said 'flag on 21, holding 10 yard penalty opposition' to the crappy singers.

Micallef prodced that lame blackjack movie. I have no idea why they called it blackjack, or what it had to do with sweet science.

And now Willow is on channel nine. Looks like nine wanted to make it a fantasy double. Was it advertised?

I think Willow is a sweet as movie, so I stayed up and watched it.

So, anyway i was watching the new simpsons on monday, and i loved the part when the guy comited suicide on the cliff and said. "Why'd did they cancel FUTURAMA".

And does anyone now what StarTrek episode is on tonight?

Favourite Simpsons scene ever was on yesterday.
Lisa: Before I sing the national anthem, I'd just like to say college football deverts badly needed funds away from education and the arts!
Nerd in bleachers: Hey, she's right!
Other Nerd: Let's get 'em!
*Four nerds rush onto the field at the footballers*
Footballer: Let's get outta here!
*They run off the field with the nerds chasing them*

Heh, I love that scene. Still, my favourite scene from that episode is the news report.

"A new fad is sweeping the nation... wasting food!"
(Cuts to a man pouring an entire carton of milk in a bin while just looking at the camera, smiling. He then throws an entire roast dinner in the bin.)

Hmmm... that really should've been posted in the Simpsons thread. Oh well, let's try to get back on topic...

John Safran's Music Jambouree is being repeated on SBS starting next Monday at 9:00pm. I'll definately want to watch that, I only saw a few episodes of it the first time around.

The headline on the newspaper scene following is the icing on the cake.
