SBS and ABC also dont fill it up with that health watch shit. Did that happen today channel 9/7? Did it you tools? Ssve it for today tonight then!

10 news is alright, it doesnt have health watch. SBS is world news. Tells you more than some granny complaining about the prices down at the local supermarket.

I watch Ten use... it's an hour long, so it tends to be a little more in-depth than the half hour ones. Still, I usually turn it off after the 40 minute mark - that's when the Sports news kicks in. Although since I've got Foxtel Digital, I haven't had much time for the news... South Park's on at the same time, and even though I have every episode on tape, I'll usually tune into SP instead...

Still, I try to watch the late news providing SBS aren't airing softcore porn at the same time.  :p

Nobody deserves a million dollars for being in a house for a few months, it's just ridiculous. They all get their 15 minutes of fame, and it's much more fame than the average person would recieve... and Channel 10 call that "entertainment" and "drama." And as for that stunt they pulled with someone going out of the house, what a fucking load of shit. Channel 10 isn't in charge of counting votes - a professional company is. Are you trying to tell me that a professional company, whose sole duty is to count the results of phone polls, managed to screw something up like that? Give me a break. It was all just a big publicity stunt because Channel 10 are losing ratings, since people are finally starting to realise just how shit reality TV is. It's about damn time, too...

Although I agree with Mikey on Comedy Inc, that show fucking sucks. It is a BIT better than Skithouse, though - but that's only because Skithouse is a lame excuse for a sketch comedy with jokes so pathetic they could have been written by primary school students. Right now, the only good Aussie show on tv in my opinion is The Glass House, what with Merrick & Rosso Unplanned still on it's mid-season hiatus and all...

Having said that no one deserves one million dollars for answering 15  multiple choice questions right. No one deserves one million dollars for entering the lottery. No one deserves 18 bucks an hour for stocktaking at myer. Its the way society goes. Merrick and rosso unplanned isnt as good as the original Baddiel & Skinner. Im kinda pissed off that two funny guys, in their own right weren't given the creative freedom to make there own show. I think they should be doing a variety type program, with regular segmants like the good old days on triple J. A sketch show even.

Thank god the panel is back. I know alot of people dislike it. But I like it. Bring back scrubs I say, whats the deal seven, you suck balls.

You know Mikey, it's not the first time they messed around with the schedule which involved bumping a great show off the air.  ;)

As for news, I don't watch TV news anymore.  I like Google news, and I'll sometimes read the ABC news.  Google news nicely agregates the news sources, but it's annoying when things like biased poor quality news sources get in the way.  Though they're not the only one.  So I try to avoid getting news from one source.  Though I do miss out on state news, I'm not overly worried about it.  Also, the internet lets me read the news whenever I please, not at 17:00-19:30.  And no ads  :)

TV generally bores me.  I sometimes will watch the late night re-runs of Star Trek (is it only me or is there too many dating service ads, and are they impling something about Trek watchers?  ;) ), sometimes Scrubs, some Alias and occasional episodes of the Simpsons.

Today I just watch The Simpsons and Frasier if I haven't got anything else on, but TV's so stupid and boring these days. I wish they'd put Futurama reruns on at a regular time now, they'd get me watching.

Yeah but in my case it isnt. Ive got a sweet deal on fox analog, with the package deal etc. If I joined digi the packages all change, and Id have to pay more for the basic channels plus the worthless crap which is mostly foxtel digital. I must admit I would like eurosportsnews and discovery travel, not to mention techtv. I think they will upgrade us soon anyway, within a year. Ive heard they want to outlaw non digital foxtel.

Yes lets all praise Fox.....hey wait, didn't they cancel Futurama?

P.S i'm aware there's a difference between the U.S Fox and Foxtel.  But it all comes down to the majority of both owned by our good friend Mr Murdoch.

I've actually heard that they're planning to convert all Australian television to digital by 2008... Apparentally, that's the planned year to turn off the analogue services down here. Still, I'm not sure if it's the same case for Foxtel.

Im sick of watching sport or anything of the like when they have adjusted the score to widescreen. So I cant see the bloody score. I dont really like watching footy, but I like to switch it on just to see how freo are going. And all I can see is the last digit of the score they are on. Pfft, widescreen.

Does anybody watch Comedy Inc which is on Thursday nights now....?
It's quite lame really for Aussie standards....we've done so much better, but it's still good for a cheap laugh....

Also good to see Ben from Hey Dad is still in the comedy scene....I wondered where he'd been....heh

'Tis the truth.
Skithouse, also, sucks the proverbial donkey.
And then, there's Kath and Kim...  :nono:

I don't like having to rely on smart folk overseas for my funnies. Just some foolish piece of Aussie pride... (NOT an oxymoron. Really.)

Kath and kim rock my jocks. They are my highlight of interstate qantas travel. Ok some of it gets repitive, but it is mostly  genuinley funny. British comedy funny not bloody my wife and kids funny either.

I watched it for a while. A smirk here and there didn't make up for the headache-inducing camera work and several grating moments.

It gets Slack's big grumpy face.

Yeah, I can understand that it has its flaws. But I think its shot to really take the piss out of suburban australia. That kind of camera work/guitar riff lead in to every scene really empitimises the suburban australian.

It's not bad, but I don't really see how it emphisises suburban Australia. Kath and Kim don't really sound very Australian, they sound more like Kiwis with blocked noses.

I can't stand the show, I really do hate it. I particularly hate the way they use a handful of pronounciation jokes over and over, in every bloody episode.

I'm pretty much indifferent to Kath and Kim. I'll watch it if I have nothing better to do, but I'm not a big fan.

I presume Roy and HG are doing a show for this year's Olympics- if so, when?

It's on Saturdays, too - I saw it last night.

The first episode was good, although nowhere near as good as 2000's The Dream. It really worked better as a full 2-hour show, though. Also, the new mascots... kinda suck. Still, the show itself wasn't bad. Surprisingly small studio audience, too, although most of them seemed to be Aussies, looking at all the Australian jokes that got big laughs.

I've seen snippets of this on SBS - it looks really good. In one, he mentioned things like door-to-door mormons, and decided to become a door-to-door athiest. When he went door-knocking, one man gave him a lecture on how inappropriate & offensive he found it, and several people even tried to physically injure him.

This looks to be a really interesting & funny look at the hypocricy of religion, and considering just how damn hilarious Music Jamboree was, I'm really looking forward to this.  :)

The man's Australian. In his last show (John Saffron's Music Jamboree) he basically lamblasted every part of the music industry. It was quite funny (particularly his 'Footloose' bit. Oh, and Cannibal Clown).
This show can only a good thing.

Ah, a friend of mine told me he thought I would enjoy John Safran's comedy, and he's going to show me his Music Jamboree DVDs. Unfortuanately we can't get watchable SBS reception at my house, so DVD is my only hope of seeing this new show...
