I've got the word that Family Guy have been given the okay by Fox for a movie. It's a straight to DVD project and should be finished in about or year to 18 months. Thought you my like to know....

If you replaced the words 'Family Guy' with 'Futurama', then I might be interested...

What if I replaced the words "Family Guy" with "Ham and Cheese" and the word "movie" with "sandwhich"

*Edit* oh, and I think the movie will be cool and will get it when it comes out.

Let's hope Brian and Stewie have another big musical number.

Why you SHOULD care:

If an OAV Family Guy movie is successful, the possibility of seeing an OAV Futurama movie goes up significantly.

I donīt think Family Guy is ready for a movie but FOX is nuts so...
I wonder what would be the theme of the movie.
And what would be the price of it?

My guess is $19.99 canadian on DVD, running time 85 min, have no idea what it could be about though. Just think, if it is in fact 85 min long it's almost the same as getting 4 new episodes.

Family Guy has attracted a lot of fans since it was put on Adult Swim, I think now would be the best time for MacFarlane and crew to put out a movie.
The general price of a straight-to-video movie is around $10-15. At least from what I've seen, and let's hope this is a sign that we might see a Futurama movie in the near future.

I thought MacFarlane was developing that new cartoon "American Dad", about the CIA agent and his family

meh maybe the man is doing both

Well, to me at least, "American Dad" sounds exactly like "Family Guy." Except with a talking alien instead of a talking dog, or some minor change like that...

I just hope is good. I really don't want to waste my money with more crap on DVD. But I also think a movie is not the best medium for Family Guy.

Cartoon movies only happen if there is a good enough storyboard and script for them, the thing about shows like Futurama and Family Guy and The Simpsons and yes even South Park is that they keep getting new funny bits of society to poke fun at, I mean look at Bevis and Butthead do America for gods sakes.... it's like that movie "Airplane!" It'll always be funny... god bless it all.

You should have realized this by now....dipshits

I like the idea of a Family Guy movie, I'd certainly get it, I'd rather get a Futurama one though  :)

There is a new "spin off" Family Guy show "American Dad" I've read that should be on the list for new season (2004-05). Can't wait to see that. This movie should be good, you have to remember that this show has become very successful after it's death... so the movie my do well in the charts.
(I know that Futurama Season 3 made it 10th in the chart so this will get about that) The English DVD price may be about Ģ12.00 - Ģ15.00 due to the fact that well it'll have special features so.  The VHS should cost less.  :)

Doubtful, as that would require fox execs to inadvertantly admit thy liked the show.  Bloody unlikely with that arrogent board

Sweet! They should have a family guy meets futurama movie. Like the jetsons meet the flinstones. Peter does something stupid after stewie invents a time machine, so he can take over the world ,
and the entire house gets sent in the future and they have to find their way back with the help of the cast of futurama. it may sound stupid but fox has done some stupid stuff before.

I don't know, Potato, that doesn't sound too appealing. Sometimes cross-overs suck. But a Family Guy movie would be awesome. There is still hope that it would lead to a Futurama movie though.

SOMETIMES crossovers suck? All crossovers suck! Besidse, that Family Guy meets Futurama thing wouldn't even make sense - Family Guy has a completely different character drawing style, and doesn't even make sense. Futurama has it's own drawing style and logic, and they just wouldn't work together.

Still, I'd love to have a SEPERATE Family Guy movie and Futurama movie. And looks like I've got half my wish!  :)

they wouldn't do a crossover anyway, they wouldn't want to ruin the different universe for each other, nor would they want to endorse each other

Strangely, that was an APRIL FOOLS topic. Or maybe that was the point. Or the joke.  See, now I'm confused.

To get back on topic, a Family Guy movie would be cool, but a Trilogy of Futurama movies wrapping up the series would be cooler. and they'd come in a DVD set ala the season sets...
As I was saying, The new eps of FG mentioned in your post, if made, will air January 2005 at the earliest. Damn.

Family Guy .. The Movie? I like the show, but a movie would sound as much appitising as the Maury Christmas-Special Extravaganza.

No offence to Maury fans  :)
