That list is appalling, absolutely appalling.  Man, music videos suck.  But on the subject, what the fuck is wrong with you European people?  I've just seen the video for this "Ding Dong Song" and it's apocalyptically awful.  This is popular entertainment in Europe?  What the hell?

I don't understand why this stuff is popular too, luckily I never heard the Ding Dong Song (I don't think it was very popular here)...but have you heard that O-Zone song? On second thoughts, don't bother. Oh man, the humanity! ...

As for the list, it's got some good stuff, but also a lot of junk and a lot of stuff I've never heard of.

I saw The Hives' new video "Walk Idiot Walk" recently and I liked it a lot. The concept was interesting and there were some nice shots and creative things with the scenery. It's nice to see different and interesting videos made by someone that is not called Michel Gondry or Spike Jonze.

Big Time was way cooler. I like the song way more than Sledgehammer, and the content was just too neat.
Train- Ordinary
Linkin Park- Breaking the Habit
Poor songs? Sure. But this is a best VIDEO thread. And when I can see Molina in a trench coat and anime back to back on MTV, it's a good thing.

Same here. I just add the exclamation points to get people ready to vomit. From the videos I've seen from the nominees list, the only one that's really outstanding is Walkie Talkie Man and I don't even like the song too much. Gondry should win Best Director for that.
Probably I'll just skip the show this year.

I don't care what anyone says, I like Jay-Z's video for "99 Problems."  Even though the facist FCC won't let you say "strong-arm a ho," which ruins the pace and beat of the song.  In fact, I like two other hip-hop songs on the list: Outkast (duh) and the Kanye West video for "All Falls Down."  On the basis of the "video," all three are pretty visually interesting.

On the rock side, I hope the YYYs win, even though they probably won't.  Franz Ferdinand and Modest Mouse both put out pretty interesting videos in the same "retro, turn of the century" vein, so it's a toss-up for me between the two. The other rock videos, frankly, suck.

Gondry should win for The White Stripes or for Steriogram.  I'd like his Stripes work to win, because, frankly, that song is better.

+I like a grand total of 7 of those videos.  Which I think is an improvement from last year.

Hmm I want to see that video and the movie looks good. I hope they can show it on MTV or The Box (those are the music channels that I got along with VH1)

Has anybody seen that video Eric Prydz Call On Me? The video shows most females working out in the gym and their workout instructor was wearing a sort of a revealing costume. Basically you can see her naked butt and there a lot of hip thrusting going on.

It is ridiculous and sexist.

Edit, Oh and Bowling for soup – 1985 is a great video.
