Well, Juliet's "Best Electric Six Video" got shut down, and it probably should have as it was only for one band. So, why not a thread to discuss all music videos?

I'm a sucker for animation in a video. I love that Gorillaz video- Clint Eastwood. it  had some really awesome 3d animation and I like the way the characters were drawn- even if it were an anime style and I'm pretty neutrol on anime.

Or "Points Of Authority" by Linkin Park (which was a awesome song on the album- the video's version of it wasn't as good). I absouletely love the animation in it, really rteally incredible!

Also the Jimmy Eat World video for "In The Middle" sends a good message, it's also kinda funny at times.

Learn To Fly by the Foo Fighters is a great video to watch.  :)

Gone Fishn' by Weezer, very cute.  :)

Send the Pain Below by Chevlle Yay, snowboarding!  :)

I got much much more, but I'll let you guys talk and I'll try to control my music obbsession.

Both of Evanescences videos are amazing. I'm gonna marry their editor. And their cinematographer, and their costume maker, and Amy's makeup person. Maybe i should get a bigger apartment.

When you say "that Gorillaz video," Hil, I think you mean the video for "Clint Eastwood." I should know, I love that song. I loved the video for "Seven Nation Army" even if it does give you seizures.

Ah yes, Clint Eastwood.   :)

Bring Me To Life was an unsatisfying video but Going Under was a very well made video, kudos (first time I ever used that word!) to the team who put it together.   :)

I remember this old video from a few years back, by Kena, called "Hell Bent". Now that was a creepy video.

I've always liked the sometimes distorted Aphex Twin music-clips. His clips are well directed by Chris Cunningham and somehow kinda' suits the mood of the song (unlike most music-clips on MTV that show nothing more than product placement).

Weezer - Buddy Holly
REM - Immitation Of Life
Oasis - Who Feels Love
Foo Fighters - Learn To Fly
Doves - Pounding
JJ72 - Oxygen

the song was dreadful but the Chemical Brothers video for Let Forever Be was great.

I don't get Radiohead's more recent videos. The "There There" video was good but it didn't really suit the song, whilst the video for "Go To Sleep" looked like a crap demo for 3D graphics. Something's amiss.

I'm not much of a videos person (mainly 'coz all I ever see are shit ones) but I liked the video for Placebo's "Pure Morning" when Brian jumps off that tall building and then walks down the side of it. Although a lot of people probably wished he'd just jumped and gone splat.  ;)

Queens Of The Stone Age - Go With The Flow
All videos should have bikini-chicks.  Fact.

:high-fives Ben:

Foo Fighters - Everlong
Massively overlooked masterpiece video, to the best Foo's songs ever.  Dave whacking everone with his giant hand is classic!

Beastie Boys - Sabotage
How great would it have been to be in this video?  Brilliant homage to 70's cop-shows, and the actor alto-ego's are fansastic (Adam Yauch's, Nathan Wind as "Cochese" is the best).

Tenacious D - Tribute
Featuring cameos from Grohl and Stiller, one of the funniest videos ever made.

Foo Fighters - Big Me
"Footos - The Fresh Fighter":  There's something oddly hilarious about cheesy ad-face smiles.  This vid always cracks me up.

Aphex Twin - Come To Daddy
Disturbing.  Nuff said.

Sh*t!  Forgot that one.
Also forgot:
Herbie Hancock - Rockit
Wesley Willis - Alanis Morisette (If you've seen it, you know why.  If you haven't, explaining it won't help.)
Mr. Bungle - Travolta (Original Version)
Spinal Tap - Hell Hole (If only because Tap kicks bottom!)
Van Halen - Right Now (Drink Crystal Pepsi  :p )
The Ramones - I Don't Wanna Grow Up
Beavis & Butthead & Cher - I Got You Babe
Björk - It's Oh So Quiet

i fully agree and add:

foo fighters - learn to fly
all foo fighters videos are funny, and that one's especially funny.

at the drive-in - invalid litter dept.
unlike all others of their uninspired videos, that one's pretty captivating and kind of gives you an awkward feeling.

all primus videos, because i like clay animations.

all tool videos because they're art.

pretty much all white stripes videos, especially seven nation army because it's hyptnotic and fell in love with a girl because i'm a lego fanatic.

fatboy slim - gangsta trippin
because explosions are fun.

blur - coffee and tv
one of the cutest videos around. i just like that milk box.

weezer - keep fishin'
one word: muppets!

rage against the machine - sleep now in the fire
the quiz show in that video is both educational and funny in a rather mean way.

jimmy eat world - lucky denver mint

nerf herder - pantera fans in love
everybody who plays air guitar on a golf club in a music video is cool in my book.

happatai - yatta! for more than obvious reasons. yatta!

and finally, the price for the video i just don't get:
north of america - cities and plans
um. yeah.

Yep. "A Trip to the Moon" By George Melies. Look at the ship at the end of that video, it's a little dedication    :)

I gotta second all of the vids mentioned by Ben, Spiff and Melll, plus, as a devotee, the following Smashing Pumpkins videos:

Disarm: Simple black-and-white video composite of the band flying around a rooftop, interspersed with 8mm footage of a disturbed boy playing in a garden. A haunting flux of imagery that compliments this amazing song beautifully.

1979: The summer of your teenage years that you never had. It's blissful. Every shot in this video is memorable. And they had to do the entire video twice because some idiot lost the master tape by leaving it on the roof of his car    :D. See a reference to this in the Perfect video, which was concieved as a sequel to 1979.

Thirty-Three: Not shot using a video camera, every frame of this video is an actual photograph. The effect produces some memorable results and striking images for a haunting song.

Ava Adore: A one-shot video, with some freaky speeding-up/slowing down bits and Billy looking like a vampire. Extremely cool song, too.

Try, try, try: Get the DVD to see this video uncut. It's a tale of a homeless couple's survival through theft, drug selling and prostitution. The shooting-up scene and the miscarriage may be upsetting to some. But it's worth seeing at least once.
