They'd have a secret exit somewhere, I'm not sure how'd they do it. Its all an illusion.   :p

Also on another unrelated note; Why dont they have 'Inferno' matches anymore?

They don't have inferno matches anymore because there are no more need for them. The only people it made sense to use them for was Kane and Undertaker.

Can anyone imagine how Superfluous it would have been to have had Eddie vs Angle surrounded in fire?? It would have made no sense.

But how much fun it would it have been if it happened?  :laff:

I was refering my question to the older matches, I've only seen 1 'Inferno' match between Kane & Undertaker. I were'nt sure if there were anymore, so I asked if there were more. Maybe I asked the wrong way, but, oh well.

Wasn't that like 2 years ago for you Nibbler?

Come on Turkey, this thread is flooding with people who don't watch wrestling or used to but have stopped.

Anyone have any opinions of the new roster mix up? It sounds like it will indeed shake things up. But I am curious as to how it will affect the champions.

And Eggsandwhich, I believe there were only two. I don't quite remember though, I wasn't really watching WWF too much back then. I was a WCW mark, lord forgive me.

There was a match between Vampiro and Sting in WCW with the same concept called a "Human Torch Match". Feh Spring/Summer 2000, dark days for WCW.

Now I have to get this out of my system......

WWE will have a draft next Monday on RAW.  Can anybody guess on who's going to Raw and who's going to Smackdown?

Where It All Begins Again is the new theme.

I'm most of the way through my Wrestlemania tape from Sunday, I've just got the main event to go.

I agree on all the points regarding Goldberg/Lesnar match, worse WM match ever, they should've kicked those two out and had Stone Cold referee a midget-match.  That would have been better.

Also, I totally marked-out for old-skool 'Takers entrance.

I just hope the Lottery opens the door for new matches.

I would eat a brick to see HBK vs Kurt Angle.

I think part of the beauty of the product is that you can go away for long periods of time, and upon your return still enjoy some great matches. Sure, angles and gimmicks are fine, and can often contribute an added layer of psychology to the match, but at the end of the day, they're just there to get the wrestlers over and to facilitate the pairings-up for the next PPV. That said, the roster really hasn't changed much since late 2001, so I still knew at least one of the competitors in each match at WMXX! I can still watch a random RAW or Smackdown and enjoy the whole show despite not having much of a clue why the matches are happenning. Is that wrong?

My love for wrestling never faltered, it was simply that here in the UK, the shows are broadcast at the most unbelievably stupid times (Friday Night/Raw, Saturday Night/Smackdown), and you really don't get that much quality wrestling in the recap shows. Thus, it was hard to keep up and maintain a social life.

You're a wrestling fan, you have no social life    :p

Anyway, I see the fact that few things change as a problem in the WWE. There must be a balance where after each show, something major changes, either a title changes hands, or someone turns heel/face. I remember the battles between Mankind and The Rock where the title changed hands half a dozen times in a month. It kept you watching. Now I watch RAW and get nothing from it, no progression, no changes.

Well, understandable, I realize that the times are crazy in Canada and the UK.

It doesn't upset me that people are coming home to professional wrestling and it certainly is a good thing to see this thread come to life. But for me, this is one of the few places I do socialize when I am not watching wrestling (yes, it's my life, how pathetic eh?), so I just want everyone to be on the same sheet of music.

Anyway, this lottery is looking to be both a good thing AND a bad thing. On the WWE website, it mentions that title reigns could be cut short! What does this mean for Benoit and Eddie? Just when I was comfortable with the WWE champs, they want to go and change them! This looms bad.

Completly unrelated. Today I bought a "Best of Antonio Inoki" 5 tape, 26 hour collection from Goldenboytapes.com Really a great place.

I also picked up that new Eddie Guerrero Scarface shirt.

And on another note, SXD, you're from the UK you say? It's always great to talk to wrestling fans from other countries, such is the wonder of the internet. Do you know much about old British wrestling, guys like Kendo Nagasaki and Giant Haystacks? I only know what I have seen of these guys, but would like to hear more about wrestling there if you know.

Why was Faarooq released from the WWE?  He was cool with the APA.

Yeah, Farooqs gone according to the official site. Thats too bad, former WCW champion right there. And that last segment was acctually, very sad.  :(

Maybe this will give Bradshaw a chance to be out on his own, I think he is a great talent and could be world champion if given the chance.

and for anyone interest check out these videos from SD: LOW

I think some of you will enjoy them. There are a lot of things left to fix of course! But the game itself looks fabulous.

Well thanks for the info, but is there a better reason why they released him than what the official site said?

Strangely, there is no reason at this point. But I have a theory, bare with me here,

All the net sheets are saying that Farooq has been released. And they of course got this from the WWE official site. But the fact that it coincides so well with his on screen firing leads me to believe that this is a work, and a lot of dirt sheets are falling for it.

Just a theory though, would be cool.

If not though, it sucks to see Farooq go, but you gotta let the old guys go someday. Gotta make room and like they said on SD! Bradshaw couldn't carry him forever.

:coughs:

I remember British wrestling when it was on Saturday Afternoons on "World Of Sport".  The days of Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks and Kendo Nagasaki - they did it as three falls, two submissions, or a knockout which decided the winner.  This meant that the matches were longer.

All I know that Dave "Fit" Finley was a wrestler that used to compete in British, and then went on to WCW.

I do remember that they'd showcase very early (before the days of satellite TV in the UK) Amercian matches - I particularly remember a "lumberjack match" being shown, perhaps featuring Hacksaw Jim Duggan.  However, it was a long time ago.

i just saw RAW, and they had their lottery.

New On RAW:
Shelton Benjamin
Nidia
Rhyno
Tajiri
Edge
Paul Heyman

New On SmackDown:
Rene Dupree
Mark Jindrak
Triple H
Rob Van Dam
Theodore Long
Spike Dudley

Paul Heyman was selected to be on RAW, but he quited.  Does this mean he's gone for good?  Who's going to be the new GM of Smackdown?  Stephine Mcmahon? Shane?  Who?

All will be revieled, in time I'm sure.

The picks were kind of lame, the crushed my dreams of Kurt Angle v.s HBK.

My only prayer is if Paul Heyman quitting means he'll start up that third brand I have been hearing about.

I wouldn't be surprised if Steph shows back up again.  Disappointed and irritated, sure, but not surprised.

Anyway...  The draft was rather disappointing, but RVD will fit in well with the cruisers on SD.  I can only hope that HHH doesn't begin another title reign on SD anytime soon though.

So what becomes of the FBI now that one of them's going to be on RAW.  This sucks that HHH is staying on Raw.  It would have been nice to see him on SD to even out the star power.  If angle is GM does this mean he won't be wrestling?
Will he be a "good" GM or "bad" GM?

And what was that about a third brand?

Rumors have been flying about a third ECW brand with Heyman as GM, I will have to see it with my own eyes first.

And I guess Kurt is just taking a break to rest his injured neck, which makes me very sad, since I love Kurt Angle in ways a man shouldn't.

But what superstar are going to be on that brand?  There aren't that many superstars in the WWE to make a new brand.  When WCW was bought you had many more superstars come to the WWE, so they formed the two brands so it wouldn't be so crowded.  I doubt a third brand would exist, unless they sign wrestlers from TNA or that other indy company that has mostly former WCW superstars.

I had heard that Paul Heyman would return with ECW and they would take the Velocity timeslot. Then I heard that they may scrap that plan because everytime Vince wants to do it, someone convinces him otherwise. Still, I have my ECW DVDs to keep me company till then.

*Sigh* I miss ECW. I wish TNN hadn't treated them like crap, and stuck them on Friday night when they where on the network. It could have made so much difference.

Better timeslot = Higher ratings
Higher ratings = More ticket sales
Higher ticket sales = Less wrestlers paychecks bouncing, and ECW not having to shut down

God bless digital satellite TV.

UK now has a Wrestling Channel, which shows each of these  promotions.

Sky has the monopoly on the WWF, so at least we have a place to watch the other stuff.  It's the first time I'd seen TNA.

Apparently, the TNA is six-month delayed, which is the best we can hope for.  I caught a bit of NOAH earlier on.  Pretty good.

I like the idea of the Supercard Sunday, I might watch that.

Classic Memphis is showing the Andy Kaufman/Jerry Lawler feud, which I'd never seen (apart from in Man On the Moon).

I'm also gonna remind myself of the classic british stuff (which I mentioned earlier on), and is also shown on TWC.  Caught a trail which showed "Bronco" Owen Hart, Fit Finley and Steve Regal.
