To all the anime watchers (series, Movie etc) of the board, what bit's are the most annoying in anime?

You could easily shoot those guys who scream magablast with the big assed gun with unimited ammo.

EDIT: Crap! wrong forum. Close and re-locate please.

After watching the DragonBall GT thing on YTV last night I'm gonna have to say preverted old men..... I hardly ever watch anime and got sick of that one.

I say the weird physics. A girl can uppercut a guy on the nose and make him fly 30 feet in the air, but he's not seriously hurt. But when he does battle, one kick can prove painful.

I'd say the robot battles.
What is it that makes the writers put big robot battles in the show, even when the story of the show doesn't really call for one?

Screaming out the attacks, don't know why. I mean, you want the other person to know what you're doing?

Somewhat unrelated, since I haven't seen it lately, I don't know why Big O calls for robots, but the battles are awesome in that show and it's the only Anime I've ever been that interested in.

I think its the collecting-stuff theme that so many anime shows have. Whether its Dragonballs, Pokemon, or whatever; it's lame. It's like they're living in a bad videogame.

Good point, LAN.gnome.
It seems like the storylines of shows like pokemon or dragonball were created purely to move as much merchandise as possible.

I voted for. Crap. I forgot. Oh yeah- screaming attacks. Especially on Sailor Moon. It's like, dudes, totally, y'all need to attack her ass while she's screaming "MOON WANKU ESCALIATIONATORY" or whatever the hell she's shouting. Morons deserve to die.

That too, but what my point was really about was the "we have to find all the *fill in blank* so that we can become the ultimate power/stop the ancient evil!" thing that's in so much anime.

Bah, should have added 'crappy predictable dialoge'. Bebop's dialoge is the best.

They can't attack then.  Time apparently stops while she's doing her attack sequence.

The same thing happens when they transform:

(The monster of the day shows up and starts attacking people.)

Usagi: "Quick, everyone transform!"

(We see all of the characters transform into their senshi identities, taking up five to ten minutes of screen time.  When they finish transforming, the monster of the day is still just as far away from the person it was about to attack as it was before they transformed.)    :p

Hmm most of the above seem to come from either Pokemon, DBZ, Gundam or Salormoon, none of which I like.
All of them if done well can work, except the yelling of attacks which is the one I voted for. I would say it varies from show to show. One show I could hate the chibi tranformations other I could love it (Like Welcome ot Lodoss Island). So it's kinda tricky on that point.

You gonna make excuses for the DBZ characters grunting for hours while their hair changes color in this same vein?

Mind you I am a huge Sailor Moon fan--it just is painful to watch sometimes.

And I hate the abusive girl thing too. Naru from--crap can't remember the name--that--uh one anime everyone is hot on now--with--Love Hina! That one. Anyway, she's a dumb annoying bitch and I don't see how anyone finds her to be an endearing character.

Gravity-defying hair gets my vote. Could somebody please come up with a good character design? As a Pokemon fan, I think the show is pretty good (it's actually my second favorite to Futurama), but maybe you have to play the games. *shrug* Besides, at least there you don't see creepy lone gunmen with a five foot hairstyle and goggles.

I voted the attacks. Come on! You could apparently kick a certain man with growing hair as soon as he gets another Saiyan level while he says, "SPIRIT BOMB!" or a certain kid with a yellow rat shouting, "THUNDERSHOCK!"'s ass while they do it.

Nah, DBZ is stupid.  It would be stupid even without the grunting.   :p

I wasn't making excuses so much as making fun.  If you wan't an excuse, try this: the transformations and attacks don't actually take that long.  What we see is slowed down for dramatic effect.  It's like the slow motion scenes in The Six Million Dollar Man or Kung Fu, or in those Matrix movies everyone likes so much.

I agree.  One thing that bothers me is how nobody recognizes them.  It's not like they wear masks.  Even if they had masks, wouldn't Sailor Moon's hair be a dead give away?

I'm gonna go with screaming out attacks... THAT JUST PISSES ME OFF...  SMELLY FINGER ATTACK BLAST HIAHHH!  It's just utter bull, how do you have time to yell out the attack just to explain it to everybody...  OMG I don't go Karate Kick whenever I wanna kick someone or Left Punch when I hit somebody...  that's all I'm done ranting, although there are quite a few up there that piss me off too, but I feel this is most related to anime in a bad way....

On that note, Kirika is really cool.

I like how long it takes someone to power up for an attack prior to screaming it prior to doing it. In the amount of time it takes to power up, badmouth the enemy and explain what you're gonna do, some powerless person could walk up and shoot them in the face.

Oh man, did this thread make me laugh out loud!

Anyway, I also wish there was a "all of the above" option, but I voted for the gravity defying hair just because.  Those DBZ guys for example look like they got a very bad electric shock.  I also hate the merchandising aspect.  South Park did a really good satire on this in the Chinpokemon episode.  I also hate those overzealous anime fanboys/fangirls.  They go around thinking that everyone else is misguided and everyone else should ove anime.  Boy, are they wrong.

I dunno. Those hairstyles are often possible with enough mousse and gel. The fact that they look like that naturally is what bugs me. What takes people hours to do they can just roll out of bed and have.

Surely the really smart man would call out the attack, before launching into a completely different one, catching the watchful hun totally off guard.

  Baaaaaa.

I couldn't decide on which way to vote, so I've decided to abstain until I can.  Oh actually on second thoughts I've decided to go with the really annoying girl option.  If I was shinji, I'd totally trash Oscars' Eva. Whilst she was in it.

Oh and the main anime thingey I hate can be found in this graphical representation...

I like your style, Dark Prince.  You remind me of a young me.  Not too much younger, mind you.  Perhaps a little older.

Actually, I would start screaming out the move name, then halfway through launch a completely different move.
