The Simpsons VS. Family Guy

Which is better. But, seriously, how can you NOT pick The Simpsons?

If we're talking about classic Simpsons, then there's no contest.

If it's newer Simpsons, then it's really a toss up, but I'd probably give the edge to Family Guy.

I picked Family Guy also. I got more laughs from Family Guy than I ever did from The Simpsons.

Meh, same in my eyes. For some reaosn I've found it extremely hard to the watch TS- even the classic ones.Not sure if it's fox, or maybe I think Futurama should be on instead. FG is funnier, Simpsons is better in depth yet both are about the same. So I'll judge by what I'd rather watch. If both are on at the same time, most likely I'd pick FG.

Vs Old Simpsons(S1-9), too many insanely hilarious moments - Simps win
Vs New Simps (S10+)- Family Guy
Overall - Simpsons, too good

Seasons 1-8 Simpsons > Family Guy
Simpsons 9-12 < Family Guy (they're basically the same thing, but FG is better at it)
Simpsons 13 > Family Guy
Simpsons 14 first part < Family Guy
Simpsons 14 second part > Family Guy

That is of course not taking into account FG's decline in season 3.

Edit: Also, I'm not really sure why people always feel compelled to compare the two shows, as they are very different.  The Simpsons is a character based satire on modern life, and Family Guy is a sketch comedy trapped in the body of an animated sitcom.

I voted for Family Guy, that was good enough for me to buy the DVDs, I have no plans to buy The Simpsons

The Simpsons is much more classic and did have some better moments - but Seasons 1, 2, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 were terrible. Family Guy may have only had 3 Seasons, but at least they were all teriffic. So, Family Guy gets my vote.

Man, Family Guy makes my orafices drip blood and rupture with fire. You could have ran it against Pee Wee's Playhouse and I would have voted against it.

Simpsons 12+ = Family Guy (that is to say, they both sucked and blew)

When I was a kid, Pee-Wee's Playhouse was probably the only non-Disney videos in my house. I guess I liked it because I thought romance and princesses sucked from a very early age.

oh man this is tough. i think im gonna pick family guy. yes the simpsons is still in my top 5 but i think its kind of losing its touch. if you watch some of the new eps, you can tell that they are taking a family guy approch by just doing random scenes. the only reason family guy is funny is because of the randomness

DotheBartman summed up my feelings pretty well.  The newer Simpsons seasons seem very much like Family Guy to me which is why I can't watch them anymore.  The older Simpsons are so much better than Family Guy.

The Simpsons are better, but that doesn't mean Family Guy isn't good.

It means that Family Guy doesn't have any replay value!

Just have watched Simpsons too much, and I love it too much. Family Guy just made its way into the TV. Go The Simpsons!

1.Simpsons seasons 1-9 is best of anything
2.FG seasons 1-3 is better than post classic Simpsons
3.Both are curently terrible

I like the simpsons wayyy better.
I really hope someone burns down the Family Guy animation studio.
But then aagain some futurama writers produce for family guy (David A Goodman). So I will make sure to warn him before I blow it up.

The Simpsons is original at least.
First 10 seasons were pure gold.

As seen with those images, you can see that I'm on The Simpsons side of this, by far and hands down. For me, Family Guy has its moments, but just isn't funny for me sometimes, just stupid. American Dad is really stupid, but Family Guy can be funny. I watched the first few episodes of American Dad and didn't laugh at all. With Family Guy, at least there's some laughs, but sometimes I won't laugh. Family Guy doesn't have its funny after a while because they drag out their jokes to the point of not being funny. The Simpsons, especially the earlier seasons, and some of the stuff now is pretty good.

I like The Venture Brothers better than post classic Simpsons era and Family Guy. And way more than American Dad.
