futurama vs. family guy

This has probly been posted before but i want to know what people think is better. family guy of futurama.  Im not asking your favorite cartoon just what of the 2 shows above is better.

there is an ongoing debate in my school and right now family guy is up by 1 vote. just wanted to see how others feel.

and again, im sorry if this has been polled before and if it has (i looked briefly but there are too many pages)i would b happy to follow a link and get results from there

I think the answer you're going to get here will obviously be skewed.

In my opinion, Family Guy is usually funnier, but Futurama is beter at everything else.  Plot, characters, poignancy, continuity, etc, making it the better show by a wide margin.

Family Guy is hillarious. It's the type of show you can just watch and laugh at, without really needing to think at all. Humour aside, Family Guy really doesn't have anything to offer though.

Futurama, on the other hand - is also hillarious. However, it's not just humour it has to offer. It's a perfect mixture of comedy, drama, sci-fi, action, adventure and several other genre's. Almost every Futurama episode has something to offer besides comedy, which is what really makes it a good show. Matt Groening decided he was going to do something different, and he really succeeded.

In short, Family Guy and Futurama are both very funny shows - but Futurama is a better all-around show as it has so much more to offer it's viewers. So, Futurama gets my vote without a doubt.

i like family guy, its really funny, but like everyone else has said, it has nothing else to offer. I don't give a damn about any of the charactors. Yeah i think stewie is funny but i don't care about what happens to him like i do the people on futurama. And for me to devote myself to a show i kinda have to feel for the charactors motivations and emotions.

Family Guy has more laugh-out-loud moments but doesn't have the strong plots and characterisation of Futurama... Futurama gets my vote

I never really watched much Family Guy. I didn't think it was horribly funny either.

Let me think about this one for a fraction of a second... Futurama.  Family Guy is good for straight jokes, but I find that once you watch an episode once, there isn't anything left to see.

I have to echo the sentiments of the majority here. Family Guy is the funnier of the two shows. For non-stop hilarity, Family Guy is the clear choice. I love all the pop-culture references and the show's cutting-edge humor.

But in terms of character-development, plot and animation, Futurama clearly excels. As others have said, it is the better all-around show.

Both shows are great for what they offer and I see no reason why someone can't be a big fan of both.

SILENCE! I concur. Family Guy is a show where you watch to have fun.  Futurama makes you think, gives emotional depth, plus it is more enjoyable to watch.
