There's a LOTR game coming out that's online, that sounds pretty good. But, I say that the Matrix game was terrible, a disgrace to all that is the Matrix.

Well, I agree with you.  Along with Pac-Man, these two games led to the great game crash of '83-'85.  It got gaming so low in sales, every title (all E.T.'s earlier) were crushed and buried in a dump in New Mexico.  This is what I have to say about E.T. right now:

I don't know why everyone hates Enter The Matrix. I thought it was ok considering it was rushed. They did all they could to it with the time that they had. If the Wachowski brothers didn't have to have it be released the same day as the movie, it could have been better.

You are right. It was fun at first just cause it was the matrix. But I never thought i would get bored of fighting 8 agent smiths. Also i thought that the 2 characters would have ENTIRELY different stories. Instead they just used the same story just different characters. The next should have some rpg elements added while staying an action game.

Good:
Aliens vs Predator 1 & 2.
Some of the Star Wars ones (Jedi Knights, Battlegrounds, X-Wing games).
007: Goldeneye

Bad:
Everything else.

I hope the Alias based game is good (although it's TV).
Mmmmmm Jennifer Garner motion capture...........

They're making an Alias game? Cool. I don't see what everyone has against Enter the Matrix, I thought it was fun.

Yeah, Enter the Matrix is fun... but it was pushed out too soon.  It feels like a beta or something. Awesome idea, poor implementation.  I still play it, though...

I think people are a little unfair to movie based games.  Yes, the majority are pretty bad or at least mediocre, but there are some great ones out there as well, a considerable amount even.  Hell, if you look at Star Wars alone there are a good amount of perfectly great games out there (the Rogue Squadron series being my personal favorite.  I wasted SOOO many hours playing the first one for N64 back in the day.  Memories).  There are also good Bond, LOTR, etc games out there.

Yes, there's plenty of bombs.  But even the current state is better then in the 8/16-bit days.  Ever play Back to the Future for NES or Back to the Future 3 for Genesis?  Some of the poorest games I've ever played, BTTF 3 might be worse then ET actually(I've never played ET, but you literally cant' last more then two seconds in BTTF3).

I've never played any movie video games for any system earlier than N64 (that i can remember) but im talking about how NOW we have the ability to make good movie games. While only a handful have found the secret to success others still have yet to learn.

They should make a Kill Bill game where you can dice people up with a samurai sword. All the blood and gore, it would be great!

They already did - it's called "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City."
