Just saw the new 'Creature Comforts' on ITV and it reminded me just how great Aardman stuff is. All the little details the makers sneak in, the character's expressions, the in-jokes, and so on. So I decided to make a thread about it. Which is your favorite Aardman Animation and why?

I voted 'The Wrong Trousers' as it was the first one I saw so it has that charm for me. And it had so many great moments (the jam/toaster machine, the model railway chase, and the Techno-Trousers).

I'm going with "The Wrong Trousers" for the same reasons as you, first Aardman I saw, and it really got me into the excellence that is "Wallace & Gromit".  Plus, it has a penguin with a gun, and an Indiana Jones spoof. Great stuff.

Aardman, an inspiration to budding British animators everywhere. All two of them.  :hmpf:

I enjoyed "The Wrong Trousers", but my vote goes to "Chicken Run" for it's originality. Anyone who can make a half decent feature length film about chickens is obviously doing something right.
Small anecdote: after the film, my mother told my always on-the-ball Nan about how they animated Chicken Run, the way in which they moved the models a little bit at a time and so on. To which Nan replied "Oh, you mean they weren't people in costumes?"  :laff:

I voted for "A Grand Day Out", because it was the first one I saw.  I love Gromit's facial expressions (especially during the launch sequence).

Moreover, Wallace just wouldn't be the same without the inimitable voice of Peter Sallis.

The three Wallace and Gromit films definitely rank as highest, but Wrong Trousers edges ahead purely for the train chase.  :D

I don't know... Chicken Run is great but Trousers has a penguin desguised as a chicken that gets stuck in a bottle... Discisions Discisons...

Loved those movies.

The Wrong Trousers got my vote, a real Wallace and Gromit classic. I only saw Chicken Run once, and can't remember it that well, but I can say it was great when I saw it.

Where's Rex The Runt?  The first series was an instant classic - not to mention the first Aardman product to get complaints for 'language'   :)

One episode had the 'Happiness Cake' song - better than Futurama's songs even.

I did have the video tape of Rex Series 1 - but  it was in my VCR when it was stolen

I remember seeing 'A Grand Day Out' when I was younger and I was almost in tears when the robot was left behind at the end... at least I think that's what happened. So it will get my vote, even though 'The Wrong Trousers' is great.

"A Grand Day Out" was great.  I love how the moon was actually made of cheese and they brought their crackers with them. But "The Wrong Trousers" has my vote, as you can see.  :p

I like all of the Aardman animations though I missed the creature comforts. Most of my mates watched it and they all said it was good. But my favorite would have to be the wrong tousers.

Oh its just so hard to choose. My best friend is a complete Aardman nut and loves all his work. I guess I'll vote for The Wrong Trousers though because it was the first Wallace and Gromit I ever saw, and the animation in that is simply astounding  :)

Dammit, how do I choose between The Wrong Trousers and Chicken Run?  Well, I'll vote for Chicken run anyway, just because it's longer.  But the Wrong Trousers is my favorite of all the Wallace and Gromit shorts.

Time to bump a super old thread for something new:

I just watched Wallace And Gromit In A Matter Of Loaf And Death online and I have to say they still got it. The best part was seeing Wallace's ass! :D
