Please continue to post reviews in the Movie Review thread.  Here you can talk about movies (Fight Club perhaps?) or possibly lesser known, yet equally wacky German titles

You are welcome.  Its nice that I finally get some appreciation for all the time I spend on PEEL.  Sometimes I feel frustrated by people who are, seemingly, unable to read.  Your kind note makes it all worthwhile though and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

You're nicer than me. I would've told him to do somthing anatomically impossible to himself.

The Princess Bride? That's a girly movie, right? What are you, a girl?

Nah I'm kidding. The movie is good. I hated it at first, because they made us read and watch it in school, and I am against any school-related stuffs. But I eventually learned to appreciate it. Andre The Giant is quite possibly the coolest man ever.

I'm debating whether or not I should post this in the "Suck!" thread...but oh well, I guess I can say it here.

Big Daddy is the worst movie ever. EVER. It makes me sad that people don't want to kill Adam Sandler after seeing it. I can only assume that Little Nicky is ten times worse.

I swear, if I met Adam Sandler in person, and he started shouting like an old woman again, I would key out his eyeballs.

To be fair, Billy Madison was pretty funny. Happy Gilmore was ok in a 13 year old sort of way. But then The Wedding Singer=sucked, The Waterboy=even suckier, and Big Daddy=oh dear god I wanna kill myself.

And that's not even mentioning that one crappy movie he starred in with Damon Wayans...Bullet Proof or something.

yeah i agree with fj in that adam sandler has gotten less funnier over the years...his first movies rocked and so did his part on SNL...i guess after that he just sorta lost it  :p

Why do I find it not so much of a stretch for Adam Sandler to be playing the son of Satan?

i don't get it, why do you u.s.-people like adam sandler. he is not funny!!! maybe it's because i only know the german-version of "happy gilmore" & "the wedding singer" but they suck big time!!!! i think that ben stiller is 100-times funnier than sandler (even if he is only a minor-character like in happy gilmore).
good stiller movies:

reality bites (almost a classic)
something about mary (i nearly laughed my butt off)
keeping the faith (even edward norton is funnier than adam sandler-by the way i love norton, he's such a good actor...fight club/american history x/keeping the faith/larry flint)

so what about wacky german titles???
do you mean the movie-title in german???

So how about that Planet of the Apes movie? Tim Burton is pretty cool, and apes are pretty cool, but this movie is looking pretty crappy if you ask me. Oh well.

Of course it's gonna suck. All remakes of classic movies suck. Whoever had the idea of doing POTA without Charlton heaston should be shot.

Hollywood films today suffer from a chronic lack of originality or innovation, just bland innoffensive mass produced crap. It's the McDonalds of the film world.

And I actually know a 'wacky German title'! A while back, I caught the film 'Run Lola Run' ('Lola Rennt' in German). Great, action-packed mad film with a great soundtrack, some very original and clever filmic gimmicks and a constant sense of action and tension that never once drops.

The plot is basically this: Amateur gangster Manny has left DM 20 000 on the tube and his none-too-understanding boss will be none too pleased when he finds out. So his girlfriend, Lola, has 20 minutes to get the cash before he has to make the dropoff. The film is split into 3 25-minute segments, each detailing one possible version of events. Imagine Groundhog Day for the MTV generation. On acid. Great film, I heartily recommend it.

i love the original "planet of the apes", it's such fun!!! i haven't seen the new version but i think it is not a simple remake, just another story....but i don't like the idea that hollywood just remake good-classic movies. even that old-tv-series-movie-remakes-thing sucks. where are the good and original storys? where are the talented moviemakers? hollywood should be burned down! don't get me wrong, i really love good movies (even good hollywood movies) but it seems that the industrie thinks "safety first" (or better "money first&quot ;), nowadays the most movies suck, no story, lame actors, just special effects!!! nothing against good fx but good fx alone won't make a good movie!!!
there are of course good storys to tell, like:
traffic (o.k., based on a t.v. series)
snatch (very good actors, even brad pitt)

those movies are based on a good story, not on fx, not a "star-vehicle"!!!
i really love to go to the movies but most of the time it is a waste of money!

I saw this week both Shrek and Swordfish.
I saw Shrek with one of my funny friends so it made the movie even funnier. The donkey (voice of eddie murphey) was very very funny, and I probably thought the movie was better than it really was. But I did like it for a good time.
Then I saw Swordfish last night. When the movie finished i said "Hm, I need spend time to think about this movie" cuz i needed to piece together some bits. But it was a good movie too. Not bad. Might have to see it again to *get* it all and talk to people about it too.

That's all i gotta say   :o

My local theater charges five dollars for the first showing of any movie on Sundays, and for any showing on Wednesday.

Shit yes--I love Snatch. Maybe a little too similar to Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, but I don't care, it still rocks. The DVD is great...Guy Ritchie is my hero of the week.

I haven't seen it yet, but I think the makers of this movie have come across the perfect formula for videogame-to-movie conversions: make sure the movies have nothing to do with their source material.

I mean, why did Super Mario Brothers suck? Because it's about a couple of semi-italian plumbers who get sucked through a pipe into a mushroom kingdom, where they fight weird villians and rescue a princess. Just like the game! Why did Street Fighter suck? Because it was about a bunch of really stupid characters fighting for no reason. Just like the game! Why did Tomb Raider suck? Because it's a ripoff of Indiana Jones, with a dumber story, a bigger emphasis on breasts, and outlandish and boring fight scenes. Just like the game!

I hope the Perfect Dark movie ends up being a thought provoking drama. About an orphaned boy's complex relationship with an older man who claims to have known his real parents.
