Also, I love the fact the infamous Hat Rack is still kicking around the TARDIS.

EDIT: Notice that both the creator of the Daleks AND the Cybermen are both wheelchair bound?

Interesting...his jacket sort of reminds me of the Sixth without the horrible eye clashing colours..

His look and persona (what we've seen of it) reminded me of Colin Baker. He's got that air of superiority that the sixth had with just a bit more bravado. He also seems to be a bit camp, which is all good.

A better copy is up now

Also when we get to page 20 I vote for Xanfor's unPEEL thread name.

It was a very interesting storyline and was well better than last year's Christmas episode. Makes me wonder if David Morrissey is going to be the next Doctor

I was reminded of Ken Branagh's performance in the second Harry Potter film. It occurred to me that a Gilderoy Lockhart-esque Doctor would be worth watching. :p

I thought it was quite good. Nowhere near as good, dialogue-wise, as "The Christmas Invasion" but miles ahead of last year's dross. It's better when they work within the confines of a 60-minute episode instead of extending it to 75 minutes for no real reason. David Morrissey and Velile Tshabalalalalala were good, as was Dervla Kirwan. The whole mystery of who the next doctor was was engaging and interesting but I expect the Daily Mail will be running Angry Readers'/Loners' Letters about how The BBC Misled Everyone And Should Be Shot. The Cyberking was a bit OTT (and how would the parallel-earth Cybermen know what a "dreadnought class" our-universe Cyberman ship looks like?) and amounted to another suspiciously Futurama-esque climax (giant rampaging Bender in AOI1 anyone?). The ending was nice but it would have been better if the greasy orphan brats had burst into a rendition of "Food, Glorious Food".

I love how the Cyberman ship is a giant frigging robot. Piloted by robots. Made by slave labour robots!

They showed the christmas episode of season two tonight, we're a few seasons behind but still. It was very good, and nice to see Anita Briem in a small role.

The Next Doctor, Matt Smith. 26 years old (youngest ever Doctor) with quite a big nose I think.

If your going for sex appeal for the Doctor horrible choice but I don' care all that much about the looks of the Doctor as long as he is still a memorable one.

Though I do know someone with  a nose that could quite possibly beat the size of his snoz...

The looks of the Doctor's (hardly) ever did it for me.. it's more about the accent, and complete awesomeness of the Doctor.

OK. Planet of the Dead is the next one. This clearly reminds me of the name of the episode of the first Dalek story - The Dead Planet.

The other theory in my head would be the vain hope that it might be set on Gallifrey - That's a dead planet isn't it? Eh? Eh? Eh?

Chances are I'm completely wrong but I for one would welcome a return to the old renegade Time Lord of years passed. This "last of the Time Lords" line is getting tired. And let's not forget that Dalek Caan managed to save Davros from the Time War....

It would be nice to have a return to the old seralised format of 5 or 6 episodes to a storyline, instead of 1 or 2 in order to allow them to flesh out the storylines and characters a bit more.

I agree, the reason the old series were scarier than the new the new ones is that most episodes would end on a cliff hanger that was guaranteed to give children nightmares :evillaugh:

'Skins' star for 'Doctor Who' companion?

**********
Skins star Hannah Murray has been tipped to become Matt Smith's companion in the fifth series of Doctor Who.

Murray, who played Cassie in the first two series of the Channel 4 teen drama, is supposedly in secret talks with producers about the role, News Of The World reports.

A BBC insider said: "Hannah did some challenging stuff in Skins and they see her as an up-and-comer."

Other stars reportedly being considered for the role include Georgia Moffett, Lily Allen and Kelly Brook.

Russell T. Davies has confirmed that he does not want to "ruin anyone's chances" of being cast as the fifth series companion by using them in this year's specials.

Oh I hope she get it. Will make me watch it then.
