Originally posted by David A: The worst part is that those aren't even real commercials. All they have are ads for other shows on the same channel, and station identification. They don't get paid for those. It's one thing to edit for time if you're selling extra ad space, but if you're not making any money of off it, then it's just asinine. EXACTLY. What the HELL is the point? A 4 hour long ad for a TV show does NOT compell me to watch it. It's like when you watch a movie preview and it shows the whole movie, so why the hell watch it? That new movie with George Clooney in it has a preview like that. I forget what it's called. Not only does an ad that long not compell me to watch something, it compells me to find something else on TV and quit watching the show on that channel. How does Noggin make any money without real commercials, anyway? I don't pay extra for that pile of trash. If they're independently funded it must be as a method of torture just sitting there for public use.

2x post. Inevitable.

Ok, David A & I were discussing whether or not if Quinn is shallow.
To add to my other post regarding this; If you've seen the episode 'Fat Like Me', you would see Quinn & The Fashion Club falling apart from Sandi's accident (which led her having a broken leg & gain some weight).
Quinn is very much her true self in this episode. Showing she is truly reliant on The Fashion Club and their own little rules they've created (Weight restrictions, eye-lash length etc). It was great to see Quinn show her uneasy/confused side - as you might know, she was somewhat more shy than Daria before entering school for the first time. She grew out of it as soon as she found some friends, and there on she climbed the social ladder to be as popular (and confident) she is now. As the episode closes to the end, Quinn helps Sandi out of complete friendship to help her get thin again (Sandi resigned from the Fashion Club as their weight restrictions applied - and "accidently" resigned Quinn aswell). This shows Quinn at her best - helping out a friend in need.
Though Quinn is obsessed with looks, social matters, Fashion Club, dating etc - she is also compassionate & tries her best to let everyone like her (even her cousin sister, Daria). In my opinion, Quinn can be shallow at times but that is just a social mask she hides behind.

Daria was easily one of the best animated shows on TV. I haven't seen many of the episodes for ages, bar the first three episodes. And the pilot episode. I can really remember this: Guy: Where have you been all our lives? Daria: Waiting here for you. We were born in this room, we grew up in this room, and we thought we were going to die, alone. But now you're here. Guy 2: She likes you!
