Although I haven't shared any of my Leeds Festival experiences on here because they'll be of little interest to most people, one that you may find amusing is that they showed Shaun of the Dead! At night, the dance tent was turned into a mini theatre, and on the saturday night they gathered a large crowd for everybody's favourite RomZomCom (we lucky devils managed to be near the front, and were even kept entertained by a rather excellent juggler beforehand). One lovely little coincidence was a little short film that they showed before the movie, which was about a guy who walks into a diner and orders 67 cups of coffee and proceeds to drink them all (sound familiar?). The watching of the movie itself was (extremely) cold being a windy night and the tent not providing much of a barrier, and my back was more sore than a hedgehog after making love with a broom, but I didn't really give a fuck. Shaun!!! EDIT: Melll - Have just gotten round to reading the whole of this thread, and if you need any webspace without ads or restrictions or anything, i'd be happy to host your Spaced/SOTD site at www.samuelhdiamond.co.uk - I have loads of space, and unlimited subdomains

You have mail, thanksyou!
Since the demise of Spaced-Out, I'm keen to get the title of the music which plays out the end of Series Two, as it's been used an awful lot since (on charity ads and such).

Boo! My Spaced/Shaun site will continue, as Spaced-Out doesn't have scripts, references or framegrabs. The Spaced-Out forum isn't back yet though.

Actually, I'm glad Spaced-Out is back, it means I can go and look up some useful info, especially on the music. I grabbed a copy of the song which plays out S2, Lemon Jelly's "The Staunton Lick", awesome. I'd previously tried to get stuff by The Sons Of Silence (the guys who do the music for Shaun Of The Dead were The Sons Of Silence, and their music features heavily in Spaced.) Now, to find that copy of Fader Gladiator. EDIT: Below is one of the pics which will appear on the disks of the specials edition box set.

£10 is a fairly generous price for a mate. And let's face it, you can pick up the new ones for about £17 ( online pre-order). Which leaves seven quid to find. Everyone wins.

There are Spaced connections there too:
Fry = Tim Leela = Daisy Bender = Mike Amy = Twist Kif = Brian Farnsworth (or Mom) = Marsha Zapp = Duane Benzie
Sammy, I haven't forgotten to email you the files, I'm a bit tied up with work and stuff at the moment, I'll get them to you ASAP.

Hmmm, i'm not sure what to do about these new Spaced DVDs. You see I bought them in that double pack that comes with a black box to keep both DVDs in. The black box has been signed to me personaly by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, so that's not going to be going anywhere. And the inside of the DVD cover for series two (the cool cartoon of the whole cast) is signed and framed too. I have to keep both disks in the series 1 case. A bit of a mess really but it was worth it to get the stuff signed. It just means that I'll have trouble selling them now. And I don't want to have duplicates. The main reason I want to get the new DVDs is because me and my sister are supposed to appear in one of the features. At the signing I went to in London there was a guy filming everything for Simon Pegg. He told us all to shout out "Oy Oy you lucky people" all at once.

I personally would've thought that you'd have no trouble at all selling signed stuff. However, I'd hold onto them, and get the new DVD's anyway.

Check the movie reviews thread over the next few days. Both Slacky and EvilLunch have seen it already and gave it very favourable reviews. Therefore gaining honourary membership into "Team Pie". Meanwhile: My Spaced: Definitive Collectors Edition has been shipped by Sendit.com. Today! Woo!

No you mis-understand me Melllvar. I want to keep all the signed stuff and just sell the disks (which have no sleeves for the boxes since I'm keeping them because they're signed) Now you can see my problem.

I'll give 'em a go on Ebay. You never know, considering someone paid thousands of $ for Britney Spears fart in in tub, there could be a buyer out there.

Also, she not stood next to - the far sexxier - Lucy Davis. Originally posted in the Movie Review Thread by boingo2000: Shaun of the Dead
Wow, did that suck. I mean, come on... I'm joking, of course. Just making sure Melllvar's awake. Quite. Glad you enjoyed it. *there's genuine scares to be found among the laughs. Also genuine drama. It's the way the tension is built, there's a genuine menace, there's always something going on in the background. It's said you could watch the movie, and just concentrate on what's going on around the principle characters. Therein lies the movies genius (if you will). *the soundtrack (why do I have to import the album from the UK if I want a copy? WHY?) Two of the Ash songs appear on the album "Meltdown", the Man Parrish song is on any Hip-Hop (sorry, Electro) compilation - and then there's Queen's Greatest Hits. Seriously, no idea. The soundtrack also features audio clips from the movie. *Best scene in the movie: the fate of Shaun's mom and the subsequent confrontation between Shaun and David. The writing, acting, direction, editing: eveything just gels perfectly.
They say that David's transformation from pacifist is based on Dustin Hoffman in Straw Dogs. ..and God, do I ever want to see Spaced now! Is there a North American release being considered, even?). See further up this thread for a possible explanation. Bravo did have the rights to show Spaced in the US, but only showed a couple of episodes. Obviously, the interest in Spaced may be stimulated is SOTD is a hit, thereafter they may rethink the music licence thing. One thing is for sure, they should (and will) never change it. Then, you'll be where we are now.

Seriously, Spaced doesn't have the audience to deserves, I'm almost single-handedly trying to do something about it. Well two weeks ago Trio announced they were running the series, so I sat down and watched it and was just so blown away by it.
Then I went to see Shaun of The dead, easily the best comedy of the year. Is Trio a cable-channel? Glad you liked Shaun too, man. I've been away for a few days with work, so I was happy to get back home for one night, and have a look through the new Spaced DVD. I love the documentary, Skip To The End, loads of insight, plus Jess is absolutely stunning in it! Has anyone see the 'end' yet then?

Trio is this channel that really just shows odds and ends, like old pilots that never made it to air or canceled TV Shows like, God, The Devil and Bob. Also they show alot of music stuff from alot of different decades, from music performances to interviews. Also they show some cult films there too. Also they tend to show alot of the sitcoms and just generally stuff we don't get in America. So it is a good channel to just leave on because you never know what you will come across. Some of it could be great or just okay or crap but at least you have seen it. When I saw Spaced was on, I remember a post I made on this thread about being so jealous that I would never get to see the show.
