Okay, for some odd reason, after "Snowblind" airs on the 29th, "Kole" will be airing on Wednesday, November 2nd at 7:30pm...

I wasn't too impressed by "Kole," to be honest.. Kole was cute, yes. The fight scenes were quite cool, yes. The animation and backgrounds? Gorgeous as always. A connection back to the Brotherhood of Evil? About time. But something just didn't hit quite right. Maybe it was the caveman Pokemon... The fact that Raven completely forgot she can disarm Dr. Light by simply going into her dark towering mode just bugged the hell out of me throughout the whole episode. I could easily see why they left it out, because the episode would've been over in 3 seconds, but still...at least have an explanation or something - like she lost that ability when Trigon was destroyed... And Starfire and Raven not picking up Cyborg and Robin and flying away along with Beast Boy when the ice started cracking was also a sore spot. There were some cute moments - I loved the drink-er, eating contest bit - but I really think they kinda wasted Dr. Light in this episode. Also, while the ending was about damn time they connected back the Brotherhood of Evil, it only made me cringe that Robin really was that stupid at the end of "Trust..." 7 out of 10. Here's hoping "Hide and Seek" is better next week. In other news, there's more on the TT console game: http://ps2.ign.com/articles/664/664478p1.html

I have to agree with RS on this one. I was looking forward to "Kole" mainly because of Dr. Light's involvement. I may be the only person alive who enjoys both the bumbling, arrogant animated version and the sadistic, psychopathic new comics version of him.
I don't know much about the character of Kole, so I can't comment on that. Except to say, as mentioned above, we never got a chance to be introduced to her. It's "I live underground with my caveman friend." Her repitorie with Cyborg was cute, but she was more McGuffin that anything else.
On the plus side, the comedy/anime-ish aspects of the show were well done in the opening battle sequence and afterward. BB's communication with the dinosaurs and Raven's rejoinder were great. Was it just me, or did the characters move more "cartoony" than usual?
On the whole, a let down from the rest of season 5. That's more because this season has been absolutely spectacular, but "Kole" didn't live up to it.
6.5/10

Promos for the next new ep, "Hide and Seek" - which premieres on Friday at 6:30, btw: http://kaction.com/hosting/507promo1.avi 8.58mb http://kaction.com/hosting/507promo2.avi 8.70mb And to be clear, this is the ep where Raven must babysit three young superheros whilst transporting them through the alps. Screenshot from promo just to let y'all know what Raven's in for: Two of the kids' names are known from a leak on imdb: Timmy Tantrum and Melvin. All I can say is that if this ep isn't great plot arc-wise, I can sure as hell know it's going to be very entertaining.

- Early thoughts on "Hide and Seek":
It's so rare to see Raven kick serious ass. Because she's the most powerful character (arguably), the writers feel they have to balance the playing field by not putting her up to her full potential. Think of all the powers she has: telepathy, telekenesis, teleportation, and that towering darkness form she has. So it's good to finally see her all out aggressive. The kids weren't too annoyingly sacchrine. Usually, I hate cute precocious children in cartoons. The children's abilities coming through for the first time in order to defend Raven against Mssr. Mallah wasn't totally original, but it served its purpose. And Raven didn't get too gushsy concerning them at the end of the episode. Beast Boy answering Robin's communicator like nothing's happening was pretty funny. Especially when we can see Robin getting beaten up in the background. I have no idea what the Brotherhood wanted with the kids, nor why they were so important that Raven had to keep them hidden from them. I guess this may pop up later in the story.

I'm hoping to god this is one of those arcs with a huge, all-threads-connecting thing at the end of the season, cuz so far there hasn't really been much to advance an arc plot...
That said, this episode was entertaining because of the interaction between the kids and Raven. From my experience babysitting (yes, I've done that, but luckily just for cousins and neighbors with genuinely good kids) and in Child Development class back in high school, the writer nailed the kids dead on the head.
Best parts of the ep? Raven's bedtime story, her fight with Malla - because it actually had a teensy semblance of a hand-to-hand battle - and the appearance of Bobby at the end.
All in all, entertaining, a good development for Raven's character, but as far as the overall storyarc, there better be an episode soon that advances more of that, or else this season is just gonna end up with just each episode being pretty much the same as the last.

The production crew just got word: There will be no 6th season of Teen Titans. http://forums.titansgo.net/viewtopic.php?p=206608#206608 However, we still have the rest of season 5, the DTV movie Teen Titans: Tokyo, and the DVDs AND Season Set DVDs. And of course, the endless repeats that will be aired on Cartoon Network. Please, no whining, crying, or tantrums on this thread. Do that privately, in your room or something. On a positive note, Lightspeed - the next new ep of season 5 - premieres on December 3rd, and according to comicscontinuum, Revved Up premieres Saturday Dec. 10th at 8pm, and Go (the origin story episode) premieres Saturday Dec. 17th at 8pm.

"Revved Up" and Ding Dong Daddy have me worried. Just the name "Ding Dong Daddy" makes me shiver in anxiety. Perhaps it'll surprise me, but it really sounds kinda stupid. All the cameos from previous villians might be good, as long as its an excuse to pop in a lot of minor characters before the show goes off the air.
I'm not that sad that TT is going off the air. I don't understand it, but I can accept it. From what I've read of season 5 spoilers, it looks as though the show's writers are ending the series on a high note in a continuity-wise way. There's nothing wrong with going out like that.
On the other hand, is TT still popular in its target demographics? Whenever I'm in Target or a store like that, I see the TT merchandise all over the toy aisles, so I guess it's still big. The action figures look pretty crummy, though, from what I've seen on the commercials. Since I don't know a lot of 6-12 year olds, I can't ask them whether or not they like it. Do people catch rating for kids' shows?

The only thing with TT goin' out is that it's most likely a sign that JLU's being tossed out of the window, too. In other news, a Toonami promo with Lightspeed clips has begun airing - very quick clips of Kid Flash running past a tower of Billy Numerous', and getting punched by Madam Rogue: http://files.forau.org/CN-Lightspeed-promo.avi 1.11MB
