Rob Hoegee (writer) just posted on TGN concerning Season 5:

Quote
Overseas animation should start to come in next month, so given our usual post turnaround, a fall premier for season 5 is entirely possible. Seeing any preview clips on the heels of End 3? Not so much. Last I heard, we were getting some "special" footage back early to show in San Diego [note: He means ComicCon -RS], but barring that you can at least count on a few good announcents. Or just hunt me down. I cave easy.

titanstower.com just posted a fairly long interview with David Slack (Writer/Producer) and Amy Wolfram and Rob Hoegee (Writers/Story Editors). Read here.

Also, another reminder: The End, Part 1 airs Saturday on Cartoon Network at 8pm. Next Saturday, it will air at 7:30, then be followed by Part 2. The same will repeat for the next Saturday, except part 2 will air at 7:30, then be followed by Part 3.

Um, yeah. Thank you for your wonderful Britslang meaning "hot." You've succeeded in confusing many - well, in the case of this thread, probably not that many - Americans...

Anyways, for us Americans tomorrow The End, Part 1 will re-air at 7:30pm on Cartoon Network, then will be followed by the premiere of The End, Part 2 at 8pm. Just a heads up.

EDIT: since GP's showed an interest in my TT MVs, they're all linked to here. The earlier ones are all .wmv files, as I had to constrict the file size to be able to upload them, but the later ones are Quicktime and sort of get up there in size. I've now resorted to encoding into Quicktime, mainly because it's so much more stable. Oh, and tell me if any of the links don't work, and I'll reupload them - and oh yeah, the 14th MV has spoilers from parts of The End not shown yet in the USA, so unless you want to be spoiled, don't download it.

SEASON 5 NEWS!

TitansTower.com's animated TT site has revealed this about TT season 5:

Quote
The Titans are Doomed in Season Five

Producer Sam Register hinted at a DC Comics super-team making their animated debut in season five of the Teen Titans. An inside source has revealed the identity of the super-team in question: It’s none other than the Doom Patrol!

A team of freaks and misfits, the strange team was established during the Silver Age of comics in the mid-60s. The team is composed of: Robot Man [a man’s brain saved from death and placed in a robot body]; Negative Man [a bandaged man composed of pure energy]; Elasti-Girl [a beautiful woman who can grow as well as shrink in size] {note: For  those wondering, DC let the rights to the Elasti-Girl name slack, which is how Pixar was able to use the name in "The Incredibles." But DC's apparently gotten the rights back from Pixar or something - RS}; Mento [a man whose mental prowess is enhanced by a powerful helmet]; and the Chief [their mysterious wheelchair-bound leader].

Beast Boy met the team after they gathered and became their junior member, long before he joined the Titans. Elasti-Girl and Mento married and later adopted Beast Boy. For everything you need to know about the Doom Patrol, visit the Doom Patrol Page at titanstower.com. Look for more information Doom Patrol’s role in the season – soon!

Consequently, TitansGo.net has this to say about TT Season 5:

Quote
With Season 5's DC-universe superhero team revealed by Animation Insider as none other than the Doom Patrol, that begs the question: what DC comic villains will be joining?

We at TitansGo.net have been informed that in Season 5, Beast Boy will be donning his old Doom Patrol mask once again to team up with the Doom Patrol and help defeat their long-time enemies, the Brotherhood of Evil. Rejoice!

In the DC-universe, the Brotherhood of Evil is led by Brain, a super-intellectual brain encased in life preserving fluid. By his side are Monsieur Mallah, a genetically engineered gorilla capable of speech and high intelligence, and Madame Rouge, a shape-shifter who's able to alter her body to fight foes and imitate just about any likeness. Among its history, the Brotherhood has taken on additional help such as Phobia (who is capable of turning a person's fears against them), Plasmus, and Warp.

(click for a view of the Brotherhood in the comics)

So will they and others be in this version of the Brotherhood? And how will this bode for Beast Boy, the Titans, and the DP? We'll see.

Stay tuned this week for even more Season 5 news, and check out Titans Tower's Brotherhood of Evil page for their comic background.

A source from TGN who I will not name - but who has seen some of the designs- accidentally let it slip that, quote, "Brain looks like a Dalak shell." They've also reassured me that yes, BB will have his PURPLE Doom Patrol mask from the comics {NOTE: In the comics, according to TitansTower.com, Beast Boy wore a purple mask to disguise his green face -- a dead giveaway that he was the famously green Gar Logan, adopted son of the world's fifth-richest man, and also because he was a minor -RS}, and that depsite the hideousness of that mask in the comics, the animated version, quote, "looks awesome."

There should be a ton more news this week, as Comic-Con begins tomorrow (well, Preview Night does, at least...)

Oh, and don't forget The End, Part III - the FINAL EPISODE OF SEASON 4 - airs this Saturday at 8pm on Cartoon Network!

Comic-Con news about Season 5!
Straight from Unbridled Joy of Flight's post at tgn - and all emphases have ben added by me:

Quote
First, I'm going to present a Murakami character card depicting a number of characters which MAY appear in S5. I'll start another thread in a minute for speculation on the identities of the characters depicted. We've got a lot more insight on that, but can't really speak to it until tonight after the TT Panel.

On other news, I can present the following straight from the mouth of Glen Murikami.

-) As has already been mentioned, Doom Patrol and Kid Flash WILL appear in Season 5.

-) Ding Dong Daddy, a minor villain from deep within TT history, will appear in Season 5.

-) Again, Terra will NOT appear in Season 5.

-) There are "no plans" for Batman to appear in the TT cartoon.

-) There are no plans for any additional, creative media-crossing events like The Lost Episode. (my question)

-) They still cannot do Wondergirl. A few quotes:

Glen speaking to Geoff Johns wrote:
"I wish we could do Wondergirl.'"

Glen addding to that in relation to Wondergirl wrote:
"Some things you can do in the comics that you can't do in the animated series, which is a drag."

That Murakami character card that was talked about? Right here. REMEMBER: The characters other than the Titans are ones that MAY appear in Season 5. Only Titans West, Titans East, Wildebeest, Hotspot, Kid Flash, The Doom Patrol, and The Brotherhood of Evil have been confirmed to be appearing in s5.

The only thing I'm iffy about, in my opinion, is the name "Ding Dong Daddy." Other than that, Season 5 looks to be awesome.

Sorry for double-posting, but there has been a brand new update on the tgn forums concerning Season 5:

Quote
Our on-the-scene crew members just phoned this update from the TT panel back into the TGN command center:

The Doom Patrol will be making their appearance as the original comics version. They will be adults, and act as Beast Boy's parents. Their costumes are all like Beast Boy's, so he's been in his Doom Patrol costume this entire time.

They showed a clip of Robin saying his familiar "Teen Titans Go!" at the same time the leader of the DP says "Doom Patrol attack!"

There's lots of interaction between the teams.

The Brotherhood of Evil will also be made up of the same characters from the comics. They were shown talking to every bad guy that has made an appearance in TT (with the exceptions of Slade, Trigon, Krall, Overload, Cinderblock, and Blackfire). And we mean EVERY villain: Malchior, Kardiak, Mother Mae-eye, Punk Rocket, Atlas, Control Freak, the witch from Cyborg the Barbarian, and so on. They are saying that they will "Take down the Teen Titans one by one"

Also, from the clip they showed for JLU, it appears the two shows are going in almost identical directions. And this is with the staff of the two shows not talking at all, it just happened. {NOTE: THIS DOES NOT MEAN THERE IS A TEEN TITANS/JLU CROSSOVER HAPPENING-RS}

ALSO, as a special bonus for you, our crew was able to tape the panel, which includes a reading of the first act of The End, pt 3. They're going to get it to me later tonight and we'll see if we can distribute it for you all to enjoy           :)

EDIT: And more details on that Character card, from the TitansTower.com Animated Titans site:

Tons of Titans in Season Five

Direct from San Diego ComiCon 2005: Some MAJOR Titans news! Cartoon Network has created a special promocard for the convention - revealing some new faces for season five! Click on the picture below to see a guide to all the new faces we'll see in season five! The major Titans panel is tomorrow-- so look for even more news this weekend and next week!

{Note: Larger picture has identifcation of the new characters-RS}

Here's a guide to the new faces - which have been brought from the comics page!

-Kid Flash/Flash [not pictured]: A bolt of lightning endowed young Wally West with super-speed, enabling him to become Kid Flash, protégé to the Flash! When the Flash was slain during a great crisis, Wally became the Flash in honor of his fallen mentor.

-Red Star: Leonid Kovar's exposure to a meteorite gave him powers - enabling him to become Russia's first young hero as Starfire. Leonid later joined the team as Red Star and developed fiery new abilities.

-Mal Duncan/Herald: Streetwise Mal Duncan was invited to join the Titans by Loren Jupiter. Mal later adopted the identity of the Herald when his girlfriend Karen Beecher helped fashion a dimension-opening Gabriel's Horn for him.

-Gnarrk: A gentle Caveman out of his own time, Gnarrk bonded with the Titan Lilith Clay before his tragic death.

-Jericho: As son of Slade Wilson, Joe Wilson was born with the mutant ability to possess people once he made eye contact. The gentle mute hero known as Jericho joined the Titans despite his familial ties. Long believed slain during an encounter with the Wildebeest Society, Jericho's damaged spirit has managed to return from certain death.

-Kole: The gentle crystal spinner Kole Weathers gained powers as a by-product of her father's bizarre experiments. Kole was rescued by the Titans and grew close to Jericho before her untimely demise in the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

-Pantha: A product of the Wildebeest Society's macabre experiments, Pantha long sought the truths behind her origins. Pantha's razor sharp personality was softened when Baby Wildebeest bonded with ferocious feline as his 'mama' - much to her chagrin.

-Killowat: Originally a soldier for Lord Chaos, Charlie Watkins realized the error of his ways during an accident with a bank of energy converters. Crackling with electricity, Charlie joined the Team Titans as Killowat! Killowat was erased from time during the Zero Hour time crisis.

-Argent: Silver-skinned Toni Monetti learned she had the ability to control bursts of silver plasma energy. Joining the Teen Titans as Argent, Toni evolved from spoiled rich girl to capable heroine.

-Bushido: The japanese teenager became the proud Bushido warrior upon his mother's death - fulfilling a long family line of honorable heroes.

Full bios can be found on the meeting room page at titanstower.com!

My guess is that Bushido will not appear in Season 5, but rather the DTV, as remember the title for that is "Teen Titans: Tokyo."

Also, in that picture, Kole clearly has antennae similar to that of the Chrysallis Eater's (from the s2 ep Transformation) - which is...odd, too say the least, considering she certainly isn't an alien in the comics...

Also remember, the backgrounds for these characters, if they appear on the show and if their backgrounds are ever discussed, will most likely not be the same as the comic characters' backgrounds. Just wanna remind you all of that. -RS

New news from titanstower.com's animated Titans site, with some news from Amy Wolfram that seems to contradict some earlier news that was reported:

Quote
I've have a full report with photos in a few days-- but here's some highlights from the Titans panel at San Diego:

- The Doom Patrol were shown during the teaser reel. They are based on the classic, Silver Age team. Each member - Mento, Elasti-Girl, and Negative Man - have costumes that look similar to Beast Boy's costume... sort of like the Fantastic Four. Mento has his original funky helmet and lightning bolt symbol. Elasti-Girl has a very Marlo Thomas type look.

- Also shown on the teaser reel were the Brotherhood of Evil - a who's who of Titans rogues with some new faces as well. Look for some new faces: Phobia, Ding Dong Daddy, LeBlanc and Cheshire. But be warned, not all new characters will get major screen time. As all the rogues are gathered, The Brain provides a clue to this season's story arc when he announces his plans for all teen heroes: "One by one, we will destroy them all." The Brotherhood of Evil's core will be the classic line-up: The Brain, Monsieur Mallah, Madame Rouge and General Immortus.

- In the panel, Sam Register asked Story Editor Amy Wolfram about the possible return of Terra. Amy hinted, "She may be coming back in an interesting way."

- Another question Sam asked: Will Starfire and Robin ever kiss? I believe it was Story Editor Rob Hoegee who provided the answer: "Pretty safe bet. But we're not saying for sure."

- Some more tibdits about season five: Expect Gordanians, Titans East, a Caveman Titan [Gnarrk] and his friend Kole. And Rob Hoegee added, "There's also someone who goes really fast and is a kid..."

Some voice actors for season 5 have been announced by comicscontinuum.com - Here's the dish - along with extra VA news that cc.com didn't get, as reported by TitansGo.net:

Quote
:
...voice actor info for the Doom Patrol:

- Xander Berkeley voices Doom Patrol leader Mento
- Judge Reinhold provides voice for Negative Man
- Peter Onorati will voice for Robotman
- and Tara Strong rounds out as voice for Elasti-Girl

As expected in Season Five, Greg Cipes will reprise his role as Beast Boy for the DP team, purple mask and all.
----------------------------------
Now for the dark side.

TitansGo.net has been informed that Glenn Shadix will be providing the voice for both the Brotherhood of Evil's head leader The Brain, and righthand ape Monsieur Mallah.

Glenn's voice credits for the DCAU shows include Mandragora for Justice League Unlimited (episode "Double Date" ) as well as the Cluemaster for The Batman (episode "Q & A" ). We can't wait to see his take on the Brotherhood's commanding officers, and neither should you.

Catch both the Doom Patrol and the Brotherhood in the upcoming Season Five, and stay tuned for Titans news as it comes.

I have a question.  Is there a chance they'll bring back X or Terra.

Slade came back and I'd like to think after the Titans defeated Trigone.  Terra could've changed back to normal like the other victims who were turned into Statues.

I believe Red X is returning in season 5 somewhere. Terra will not be returning so far as I know. Rob Hoegee (Writer), Ben Jones (Director), and Derrick Wyatt (Character Designer) have all said on the TGN boards that Terra will not show up in season 5, but nobody's confirmed if she'll not be returning, ever, either...

That sucks.  I liked Terra, she was cool.  I liked her so much that I wanted to see her defeat Teen Titans when she worked for Slade. Plus Beast Boy liked her.  I don't think there will be a Beast Boy/Raven thing, because I learned that the writers of the show say their relationship is like brother and sister.  I'm assuming this means that Beast Boy may have a romantic relation with someone else.

"They're just like brother and sister" Aw, man!

Raven: What are you saying Beast Boy?

Raven: But BB, you've been like a brother to me.

Details on Red Star

As previously reported, Red Star makes his animated debut in season five. Titanstower.com recently caught up with Rob Hoegee, who penned the episode featuring Red Star. Rob spilled some info: “I did read up a little about Red Star [in the comic books]. He’s coming up in an episode called SNOWBLIND. We wanted to create our own take on that character. Other than his name and his costume and a bit of his backstory, he is very much a new take on that character. But he is still from Russia, like in the comics.”

And for now, here's the episode titles that are known ("Kole" was leaked by Derrick Wyatt on the tgn forums):

1. "Kole" - whoever appears in this should be obvious

2. "For Real" - from imdb.com's guest appearances section, we know this features Titans East and Control Freak, but have no more details on the episode.

3. "Lightspeed" - the Kid Flash episode

4. "Snowblind" - the Red Star episode
