That would be "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure", they dont technically do anything much in the Sequel "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey" coz they are dead for 3/4 of it!

Not knowing Mr Holland's Opus that clue was no good to me, but following the Rocky theme... and I'm sure the pun in the word "unheard" is intentional which makes me think comedy.
