The Grinch is the best movie of these
Ace Ventura or The Mask? Please....
Christmas in Whoville or Me, Myself and Irene?
The latter is the worst movie I have ever seen
Dumb and Dumber didn't do it and no-one likes Batman
Truman and the Cable Guy I couldn't stand
I just can't bring myself to see Liar Liar or Bruce Almighty when
My brain has been filled with Smokin! and All righty then!
That's why I vote for the Grinch, and so should you
Kryten, Nurdbot and VelourFog too

But a missguided one.

e.g. I don't agree. I like the Grinch too, but I also like the other films I mentioned in my orignal post.

I put a notch for Dumb and Dumber.  It doesn't have the substance of The Truman Show, but silly roles are where I think Jim Carrey is best.  I've got to pick that one up on DVD.

I'd have to say the Mask was one of my favorite movies.  The Cable Guy was just creepy, but okay.

The Mask and Dumb and Dumber. The Mask actually spawned a decent TV show based on it.

(raises his Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind banner)

Best film with Jim Carrey in it. Period.  The Man On the Moon, then The Cable Guy. The rest, I could do without.

I have never seen the Truman Show, better put it on my list of things to do.
So I voted for Dumb and Dumber, I just thought that was one stupidly great movie.

I think Cable Guy is one of his worst. The Truman Show is good, but I voted for Dumb & Dumber.

I really like Bruce Almighty, thats a good film. But so is Me, Myself and Irene. I like the Mask too, and Dumb and Dumber. Hmm, so many to choose from.

But, I think I'll go with Bruce Almighty  :)

I haven't seen The Grinch.
Batman Forever and The Cable Guy I've only seen once, I'm quite happy to watch all the other more than once though.  :)

And Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was great too.

Me and my friend do the "Shekakaaa!" bit from When Nature Calls all the time, we're sooo r0xx0r!!  :p

Out of those in the poll, I'd say "The Truman Show". Well written and well acted, I liked it a lot.

I love all his movies, except The Majestic that was kinda boring. But I think I'd say Bruce Almighty. It made my whole family split sides. But I love them all.

'Dumb and Dumber' was the only ever show I shot coke outta my nose watching. (Good thing i never had pop-corn).

It's a classic.

As for 'serious' roles, 'Man on the Moon'.

Me too. I mean I've never read any of the books and the movie kinda looks stupid, but I"m only going to see it cause I LOVE Jim. And usually if the movie sucks he saves the show!

*Bumped!*

I have to go with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I could go with Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls or The Mask, but Eternal was better. Too bad he's had more than 10 movies and this thread is older, because then I'd vote for it.

Well do you 100% agree with my list above? Cause lots of people liked Eternal Suhshine. If you liked all the movies that I like in that order then yes, we would be the same person and I'd be freaked out.

Not true. Kate Winslet got nominated for best actress. Didn't win, we all knew it was Hilary Swank but she was nominated.

And to be frank, lots of people liked it and lots didn't.

my bad, your right about the oscars. I talked with the chick at blockbuster one time and she said that not many people rented it when it came out. I bought it. there is a deluxe edition out there too. but I can't find it anywhere.

    Clickity

Wwe_fk, this is the most deluxe edition of the movie I could find. Apparently, the first disc has all the same features that the widescreen release of the DVD had (commentaries, featurettes, that sort of thing), and the second disc has over an hour of new stuff. Not sure if that's what you were looking for, but I just figured I'd post it. Hope it helps.

Anyway, Jim Carrey's best work has got to be in Eternal Sunshine... He's so versatile and all that good stuff (and the movie in and of itself is simply brilliant, so there you go).

Out of the choices on that poll, though, I'd probably have to say that he was pretty good in "Bruce Almighty". Basic screwball Jim Carrey flick, but it's a good movie. So, yeah, that's about it.

To be honest....I think Carrey isn't very good as a comedian.  A lot of his old movies were pretty bad....the "Ace Ventura" series in particular was, quite frankly, %^&*ing awful, especcially the sequel (Worst. Sequel. Ever.  I'm not joking).  He has some talent, but mostly relies too much on weird face contortions and "funny" voices.

On the other hand, his recent turn as an actual actor has been astounding.  "The Truman Show" was excellent for one (come to think of it, I should probably see it again sometime, given that I haven't seen it in a long time, and that was even before the reality tv craze it eerily predicted), and "The Majestic" was pretty good too.  Even better, though, was "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind".  It was arguably the best film of all last year, and Carrey's performance was tour-de-force.

I'm always disapointed these days when I see Carrey in movies like "Unfortunate Events".  He's so much better in more legitimate films.
