I watched Micallef this week for the first time... nothing special, I switched over to Enough Rope on the ABC.

I watched Pizza and Crank Yankers (remembered!), funny stuff, Pizza still has it after the movie!

Vilagosh, any chance of you working some of that light-fingered magic and getting us an E-mail (Personal or professional) address to send complaints to? Any Complaints void wont get us anywhere.

That's retarded. Micallef Tonight gets cancelled, but Rove Live stays on? You know, Rove saying "what the" wasn't funny the first time, but all the Big Brother-watching tards make sure it stays on the air so we can all hear Rove's great jokes like "haha this word is spelled wrong whAT theEEEhh!!"

I'm with whoever said Pizza sucks now, I actually liked that ridiculous show for the first two seasons, but the movie was terrible, as is every episode so far this year.

Well... this is the first I've heard about it.

Also - I looked at Channel 7's TV Guide for next Monday, and it turns out that King Of The Hill will be on at 11:30pm... However, no Futurama. Which is odd because they usually put both shows on after eachother. Still, if KotH is returning, then that does make Futurama's return on Channel 7 look more promising.

Micallef AND White Collar Blue. Wow, looks like 9:30pm on Mondays is now officially THE TIMESLOT OF DEATH!

Still, I think they should have given Micallef another chance. If he was losing ratings to Denton, why not just change the day he's on? I really really hate Channel 9...

Here is the Micallef article:

Quote
Micallef axed as ABC's Denton gets last laugh
By Kylie Miller
August 6, 2003

The Nine Network has axed Micallef Tonight, citing poor audiences for the Monday night live variety show.
The news shocked host Shaun Micallef and producer Todd Abbott when they learned of the decision late yesterday afternoon.
It was a different message just a month ago when Nine extended the show to the end of the year. Guests have been booked through to November.
Nine's Melbourne programmer, Len Downs, said yesterday the show failed to attract the audience it needed to sustain it.
"We believe Shaun Micallef is a great talent," Mr Downs said. "We are disappointed that the program did not reach our ratings expectations."
The show got off to a shaky start this year, its launch delayed by network executives reportedly worried that Micallef's offbeat humour would not work with Nine's conservative audience.
The show's format was fine-tuned and Nine launched the show three months ago, proclaiming it a return to the network's glory days of live variety television.
But it faced stiff competition in the 9.30pm Monday timeslot from the ABC's heavily promoted Enough Rope, hosted by Micallef's friend Andrew Denton.
Competition for guests was tough and Micallef Tonight was criticised for stacking its line-up with Nine Network stars. The quality of Micallef's interviews also drew fire from the critics.
For the past few weeks Enough Rope has consistently rated higher and this week only 293,624 viewers tuned in to watch Micallef interview singer Ricky Martin in Melbourne, compared with 359,790 for Denton chatting to singer Kate Ceberano on the ABC.
The figures were similar nationally, with 821,192 for Micallef and 1,119,758 for Denton.
[/small]

It's a pity to see it go, but the interviews really weren't that good. I'm looking forward to the new season of CNNNN.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I've never watched Enough Rope.

Sometime this week I saw part of a satirical show, I think on the ABC, by a guy who they said had been on Backberner. It was on at about 9:00, maybe earlier, and I thought it was really good. Does anyone know the name?

I was checking the paper earlier on today, and I noticed that Buffy's having it's final this week too. Meaning that the 10:30pm timeslot on Wednesday will be free as of next week. Hopefully Channel 7 will come to their senses and use that timeslot to air Futurama. Even though it's normally on Thusdays, keep in mind they did have it on Monday for a few episodes. Here's hoping they do so.

That's on Prime, I assume 7 would be the same.
