I saw the Hulk today i thought it was really good the plot well thought out, the action sequences brilliant, the cinematography is used like a split screen similar to the show 24 but done in a comic book way, which is very effective, the acting was exellent especially Jennifer Connoly who seemed to be in it longer than Eric Bana much like when she was in A beautiful mind longer than Russel Crowe. From reviews i have read i wasn't expecting what i got which was drama, romance action and story catering for everyone The reviews have so far been mixed but in my opinion underrated. http://http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/TheHulk-1123219/

im not fussed about this movie at all, i think it's being sold on the name, and nobody gives a fly green monster about anything else.
I saw the teaser, the trailer etc... not convinced on the actors performances, nor do the CGI do the film any justice. But... it HAS to be seen simply because it's the hulk.
*sigh*
And it'll only truely be the hulk if they have Bruce hitch hiking on the road with that sad music... *sniff*

You do know that Jennifer connely has won an oscar and Eric Bana is highly acclaimed actor I think you should see the movie before you give it the thumbs down it might surprise you. It's a serious film and the special effects are brilliant. They did'nt skip on the story either.

on a lighter note, the PS2 game looks good.

The whole thing was strange...for once, a director took a comic book premise absolutely seriously. Really seriously. Somberly, even. One thing, though...the guy playing Glenn Talbot overacted like a mofo. All the guy needed was a top hat and a Snidely Whiplash mustache.

I don't see how they could'nt have taken it seriously Bruce saw his mother killed by his father in front of his eyes. You can't expect them to make a comedy out of that.

This is probably the first film i've seen in a long time that I truely can't tell what I thought of it. Ang Lee is clearly a genius, one of the most brilliant directors in recent years. His direction on this film is truely truely outstanding! The split screen technique feels just like you're reading a comic book. The Shakespeare/Greek tradgedy elements are wonderfuly done. There is soooooooooo much about the Hulk that is utterly outstanding! But, why did I come away with mixed feeling!? I was wrestling with myself on trying to judge it (I actually felt lik the Hulk). There are just a couple of things in the film that seem so out of place and poorley concieved that they almost ruin everything! The dog attack scene would have worked better if different breeds had been used! The poodle just doesn't work. I thought I could try and except it on a Tim Burton-style quirky level. But no, it just feels wrong! That whole section of the film should somehow be re-edited and skip to Bruce being captured. This is where the film picks up and become truely excellent. At that point I was saying to myself "Ok the whole dog scene is forgiven, this is great". And it is for a long time. But then at the end when Bruce and his Dad are fighting it just all of a sudden went and spoilt it all again! Not the main part of the fight, but when his dad becomes that huge blob. It just felt out of place! I can't write-off the Hulk totally, because there are just so many brilliant things in it that I loved. I just wish I could be given a copy of the film and be allowed to get the scissors out and do some emergency editing! Oh, but ILM's effects were outstanding! Some of the most brilliant work in their history! Like many people have said the trailer is very, very miss-leading.
Overall 7.5/10. I really want be able to like it more.

The CGI doesn't do the film any justice? At least watch the thing you're commenting on, dumbfuck. The special effects were great. I don't see what anyone's problem is.. All these people were like "he looks like Shrek on steriods har har". What the hell? Die. ASTERISK SIGH ASTERISK

My friend had a dream he was flying, being pursued by the devil and thinking 'oh no he's going to catch me, he's had far more experience flying than I have.' I am actually going somewhere with this, bear with me. Then he realised he was part of a story and he looked around to see the hulk flying after them both and then beat up the devil. This didn't happen in the film did it?

Cube, are you 'on something', i've noticed some of your posts lately are a bit...off. Is your avatar telling us something?
Oh yeah i've got more to say about Hulk. As I said in my main review, lots of the film I really, really liked. Some just didn't work for me. Well I've been thinking about the film and I'm starting to like it more. Unfortunately, the bits I didn't like are enough to stop me seeing it again in the cinema, but I'll definetely pick it up on DVD. I think a second veiwing is required. I've got a lot of respect for Ang Lee for doing the unexpected with this film. The marketing people a really trying to pitch this as a loud, dumb, summer flick, but it's much more than that. Even though not all of his risks have paid off, I still have to give two thumbs up for Angs work on this film.
