i've been noticing alot of annoying censorship in movies on free to air television for example i have promised myself to never watch Pulp Fiction or Apocalypse Now on television because they cut out so much.

EDIT: TOTPD

My formative 'Aussie' TV experiences were The Sullivans, Neighbours, and Prisoner : Cell Block H.  I'm sure many words have been expounded about them.

However, there was a rather good show called 'Frontline' a while back, naturally shunted to a satellite station in the UK.

Anyone watch 'Snatch' Recently on Ten? That was pretty heavily cut out too, but i think the worst incident (that i can think of) was 'Lock Stock and Two Smokin Barrels' it was on at about 10:30-11:00pm, said it had, very course language, nudity, Storng violence, among other things in the ratins, and they still cut violent/bad language bits out, i mean if there are any kids watching LSATSB at 11:00 then it shouldnt be the Networks fault if they pick up some bad language from it....

Alex - where did you get your Family Guy DVD's from? I've looked around in a few shops for them, but I can never seem to find them...

Sorry Beamer I didnt realise that this was also the grammer thread.
Im surprised no one has mentioned The Panel thats a great show and for sports lovers The Fat on ABC used to be great I havent seen the new series so I cant comment.
As for the censorship issue there are things cut out of the programs we watch that we have no idea has been done an example I can give you is from a Simpsons episode, it is the one where Homer gets Apu fired and James Woods takes over the QuickieMart. There is a scene where he is cleaning out the microwave and he is on the phone to his Manger and he starts a long expletive narative which is bleeped out yet on the TV in the scene you see his mouth moving but no sound coming out. There are other examples form the Simpsons but my point is that if it is happening there where else is it happening with out us knowing about it.

In one of the Simpson episodes they also censored grandpa saying sex a few times for virtually no reason at all. Maybe it was because of it's 6:00 timeslot but after they cut it out the whole scene did'nt make any sense.

BTW the Panel is probably the best talk show on television.

If you go to the "City Of New York VS. Homer Simpson" topic, also in the TV forum - you'll see other examples of where The Simpsons have been censored on Channel 10.
