He's not dead, just wandering patheticly lost in a mine shaft somewhere in Wales. Maybe he'll find Nazi gold.

Kenshin all the way man! also in regards to Aulstarlian Guy's statement about DBZ being kiddy anime, it wasen't originaly a kiddy anime, funimation turned it into a kiddy anime. *gets out reverse blade sword and heads for funimation*

And you know what's the worst part? Funimation dubbing the death scenes to that 'other dimension' crap. "Stand back, or I'm sending you to another dimension!" Maybe it worked for some, because the way they die it looks like they're de-materializing, but it still was a stupid idea.

Yeah, it's a good thing that DBZ was allowed to grow up and use the word "death" in the Cell Saga. It became comical, everytime someone was going to "be sent to another dimension" or "destroyed." I remember, on Namek, when Vegeta kills like 30 people, he has to say the unwieldy "another dimension" line for all of them.

I take back my vote. I want FLCL! That was one of the greatest Animes I have ever seen.

I remember last year, there was a 'Giant Robot Week'on Toonami, and I was sick that week,so I got to see it  ;) IT was all Animes, such as Evangelion,Robotech,Martian Succesor Nadesico, and an old black and white anime,Gigantor. That was an awesome week, except for I had the Flu.

Well Digimon did ROCK the first season was awesome with WarGreymon and MetalGururumon but they will never bring it back because it is old, 2 season ROCKED but first was best, 3 season was pretty good, 4 season ROCKS humans turning into Digimon.

NJ have you noticed that all the leaders have fire digimon and wear goggles, and the co-leaders are always outcasts from the team and have water or light digimon.

Wait I'm not Christian so this might not work. Well I'm going ot continue hitting Superfry with my Exocism stick.

On an anime related note. Has anyoen seen the whole of Final Fantasy Unlimited. I ghave watched the first 12 episodes but I'm wondering if I should continue because each episode seems to follow the same pattern.
Enemy turns up, all looks grim
Kaze turns up
uses the demon gun, summons a creature and destroys the enemy.
So someone tell me if it is worth my time trying to see the other episodes.

Has anyone here seen Dual!?  It's a series by Misaki Kajishima that could either be described as a parody of NGE, or as a cross between NGE and Tenchi Muyo!

Good for you Nurdy. I though GXP was quite good, good not great.
Well this may be old news to some poeple but I have just recently found out about it. Square are curently making a movie of Final Fantasy VII called Advent Children. It's set two years after the game and Cloud's been wondering around. If anyone else has any info on the plot that would be cool.
It will apparently be a 60 min film with a a slated release date of summer 2004. As for how it will look , pictures are so much easier.

It'd better not flop like the last Final Fantasy Movie.

Tenchi GXP has suceeded, unline Tenchi in Tokyo. I swear. I'll punch the next over zealus Tenchi fan who says it sux. I liked the addition of Sakuya, if it wasn't for the crappiest animators and produces of dialoge, It would have just made it.

I blame the shipper assholes for making it even more unpopular.

You know I liked Tenchi in Tokyo. Granted it was not as good as the others series it is still quite abit better than most of the crap on TV. Some of the episodes were absolutly brilliant.
What I am annoyed about is that I found a palce that has the translation of the new OVA episode but my uni network blocks the program used to download it, which really sucks cause most stuff I download at Uni downloads at 900ks-1. Grrr.

Actually I liked TiT out of all the Tenchi series I watched, except for Tenchi Muyou. Hehe, TiT.

Due to college homework and other random shit, I haven't been watching much anime. I've fallen behind 15 episodes in Naruto and I don't know any other new stuff coming out now. So what's good?

« Last Edit on: 10-14-2003 23:38 »

I only watched one episode of Final Fantasy Unlimited  and it was horrible... I don't think the show improved, it was canceled which is very rare for an anime series.

Did not like Dual, felt like they could have done tons of more interesting things with the series... that and there wasn't anything new and unusual past the first couple episodes.

::edit::

More stories about Cloud and the rest of the FF7 gang? I have no desire to see it, but I wish that it does well. More animation studios the better.

Also didn't everyone die at the end of 7?

Well, I've never been impressed by any anime, despite almost all of my friends being big fans.  Then... my idiot brother made me watch Trigun with him... wow.  Me likee. Me likee lot.  We are now part way through Cowboy Bebop, and I hate to say it, but I am beginning to like anime.  Shoot me now.  (incedentally, my brother said he heard word of an upcoming Trigun game, but I can't find anything about it. Anyone have any information?)

Anyone seen the Get Backers? It's been out for a while, but I hear it's really good.

Also, I recently started watching Excel Saga. Some hilariously wacky stuff indeed. Poor Pedro!

I could have sworn the earth was whiped clean at the end... showed the city grown over with vegitation and Red XIII somehow reproducing aesexually... If Sephiroth is dead then why is he in the film? Someone used a pheonix down?

Berserk is nothing like Ninja Scroll, other then the fact they are violent. The anime is ok if you avoid the first and last episodes where it becomes like the majority of the manga which really really sucks.

Okay, it's just that I really really hate the "silent warrior who only thinks of the fight" character. Gatts, to me, is boring, because we've seen so many other characters like him. He's hardly vulnerable, so we really don't care one way or another about him. That was my problem with the first few episodes of Berserk. We don't know or care about these people's plights.

Now this all conjecture but here's what I think happened. Call forth by the anciets the lifestream protected the planet and destroyed the meteor. When we see Red with his children (?) we are seeing something like 100 years into the future, Advent Children however is set 2 years after the game. Hell alot can change in 100 years.

As for Sephiroth. We don't know if this guy is Sephiroth (the Sephiroth in the flames is an updated version of an FMV from the game). As far as I remeber from the game there were alot of failed Sephiroth clones , this guy might be one that was not a falure.
Suppose we've got to wait until next year to find out.

Why WHY WHY!

It was such an easy OAV to translate to a series... It had action and great characters... A cool background story and lots of action... A sence of fun...

I do not think that ANYONE who saw Read or Die thought that it would be so improved by ignoring all of the library stuff not have Yakumo but give her powers to three generic anime sisters who run a detective agency in Hong Kong...

Grr. I hate American translations. I normally love Shaman King, but FoxBox has to go and change 'manta' to 'morty' and 'Ren' to 'Len'. That is the thing that annoys me most about anime. Shaman King is almost unwatchable now.

I've only seen up to Ep 4 of the series. So far, it seems pretty good to me, especially the intro music. At least "The Joker" cameoed in an ep. BTW, is it 13 or 26 episodes?

Also, I'm pretty impressed with Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Almost finished watching the whole series. Expect a review soon.
