Ed a.k.a Bosco?

Anyone who knows why Phill Stubbs calls his boss - Ed Stevens - for Bosco all the time? I have watched allmost every episode, but never figured it out...Is there a story behind it ,or is it just one of Phil's crazy ideas?

I don't watched the show nowadays, but did watch some of the earlier ones, far as I can tell no reason. You wouldn't believe the amount of people who said I reminded them of Phil during that more popular first season, quite frankly I like the 'Bosco' thing, just looking for the right person first.
