Family Guy isn't really my thing, some of it's cool, but I'm not gonna buy it  :)

Pity it doesn't include the unaired "When You Wish Upon A Weinstein" ep that the Region1 S2 set has, that's a fantastic 22 minutes of border-crossingly offensive/controversial comedy.

I might import the R1 box for the extras, are they any good? Anyone?

Family Guy is funny, but it's not buy-a-DVD-set funny.

I bought them seperately, and I love them!
I'd get R2 ones with extra features if they came out.
Or i could just import the R1 ones for my region free DVD player.

I bought them as a set, and it was well worth the wait. They're the R1 ones, but they don't have the episode that SamuelXDiamond mentioned. Still, it nicely complements my anime collection  :)

Pretty disappointing. The extras were incredibly lame.

"Weinstein" is supposed to be on the next set.

I know that. That's why I said complement, meaning that it balances out my anime collection. Whereas if I said supplement, then THAT would imply that Family Guy is just another anime.

"There, you happy now?"
"I've never been happy."

"Okay, so we're agreed, we attack tomorrow."
"Yes. Tomorrow."
..."I mean it this time"
"So do I."

"Tony Robbins hungry!"

Yes, a great episode. So, what you guys are saying is that the Region 1 extras are crappy?

That's exactly what I'm saying. Commentaries on only 8 out of 28 episodes, a few promos, and a dinky little five-minute "Making of" feature. They could do a LOT better.

Around the time Family Guy came out on DVD, there was an article on zap2it.com about it.  It said that audio commentaries were recorded for all the episodes.  But most of them were considered too dirty or offensive or something (I don't remember exactly), and so they were left out.  So that's why there're only eight.

But anyway, I started watching Family guy on CN, being that I've never seen it before.  It's an okay show, but I don't like it so much that I'm going to run out and buy the DVD's, or that I'm even going to save it when I tape it.

True that they were skimpy on the commentaries, but I haven't been able to watch Family Guy for over a year on TV. I'd still be very happy with just the episodes.

I'm currently borrowing it from a friend, disc by disc. I'm up to disc 3 now, pretty good so far. I only watched it a few times when it was on network TV, so most of the episodes are new to me. Saw it at Best Buy yesterday for about $35.00, not too shabby I guess. Also saw CSI: Season 1, but I can't bring myself to payt $75 for a DVD set, that's just ridiculous.

I've read the episodes that're on the discs, and BAD NEWS, EVERYONE, it's not the ENTIRE 2nd PRODUCTION season. ARG!

surely they (fox home enter.) can release a special MA Family Guy DVD with all the commentaries. What a waste... :(

Note: MA is a rating in australia. its for films and tv shows meant to be restricted to people over 15 (i dont know about the ratings in europe and the US).

There was no excuse to remove all the commentaries then. The DVD shows a disclaimer saying that the commentaries may have offensive language. And I only heard the word 'fuck' once in them.

I've seen some very funny moments on the show and I've seen some very lame moments on the show.  Overall, I'm not going to run out and buy the DVDs.  If I see them on sale and the mood strikes me, maybe I'll pick them up.

The show is so foul, but that's what I like about it. Rather than be blatant about it, it's more subtle and in my opinion, much funnier.

Example:

TV Ad: Diamonds. She'll pretty much have to.

For all those who remember that one.

I've got the set (R1) and I think its pretty good with 28 episodes and the commentaries are alright, although there aren't really many or many other extras.
