What do you think will be the top film this summer?

EDIT: Oh, and I forgot to put in "Other" so just right that if it would've been your choice.

The Hulk has definite blockbusterability. People love comic-based franchises.

I think The Matrix will take some beating.  The Trailer looks awesome, and if the movie's anywhere near as good as it loks it's gonna be THE movie to see this summer.

I love you, Jeremy.

Also, why isn't there a "I'd rather kill myself than watch any of these movies" option?

I'm not a fan of sequels or remakes (especially this years) myself FishyJoe but these are supposedly this year's "Blockbusters" and most people are pretty eager to see these. I must say I am somewhat curious about Matrix Reloaded, though. You're not supposed to appreciate The Matrix for it's plot (at least in my opinion) but more for it's special effects. The idea of a third American Pie makes me sick though   :puke: no offense to fans of the Pie triolgy (but if you are a fan please wear aluminum foil on your head so I know who YOU are!).

Sadly Grim, I am not. Go to movie.com and do a search on it or just do a google search for it. There's also (in 2004) gonna be a sequel to "Dude, Where's My Car?" called "Seriously Dude, Where's My Car?". It's sad how Hollywood works when you think about it.

Oh and there's gonna be a Rocky VI. I am NOT lying. It's sad really...

Yeah I just searched it, sounds like a grab for cash if u ask me. I would have thought all the loose ends were tied up at the end of number 2 but meh.

I really liked Dude where's my car, I hope they dont spoil it with a sequel.

I think T3 will be a big hit. I also think the new Matrix will be good, but its a shame they are not using the actors from the original.

err, Names Nick, the only character that is missing from the Matrix Reloaded is Tank. Other then that they are all there, the actor that plays tank wanted more money, which they just couldnt give him, so they wrote him out.

I think the Hulk could be good, but i havent seen the FIRST Matrix and probably won't see Reloaded. It was once on in a bus to Canberra I was on, but it was so boring I fell asleep.

*waits for barrage of rubbish*

American Pie 3 should be horrible. But I think American Pie has the best looking chicks of any teen movie thingo...

I voted The Matrix reloaded, I think that's going to be absoluetely awesome. I'm also really looking foward to T3, but I don't think it'll do anywhere near as well as Matrix Reloaded  :)

The Matrix Reloaded is a given blockbuster, note I'm not saying it'll be my top one to see out of those options, but as for biggest blockbuster, bada-bing, it'll be the people's choice.

Y'know, it's all come crashing down on me just now how many sequals there are these days, everything has a sequal, what's with that? What am I saying? I know exactly what's with that, no integrity, mo' money, although I can't say I'm complaining about it, X-men 2 wasn't a letdown that's for sure and I don't think the other sequals coming up for various movies will be either, with the possible exception of American Pie 3, and the next to definate exception of '2 Fast 2 Furious'.

I have my ticket for the midnight premiere of Reloaded at the ready. There's no room for apathy or distant objectivity in this case. It's gonna be sooooo good..

Yeah, they couldn't spare any more money. It's not like this movie is a guaranteed success or anything--sequels are risky. You shouldn't spend a dime more than you possibly can.

Don't worry, I'm not criticizing your choice of movies. These are clearly the biggest movies of the summer, but still, they all look pretty crappy.

Oh well. I will vote for TF&TF2, because I'm an ass who doesn't take polls seriously.

Oh, you know. A little of both. I just think it's funny to say that they "just couldn't spare it"...because what's another half-million or so, when the movies cost 1 billion dollars and are expected to make 5 gajillion dollars?

But at the same time, I don't even remember who "Tank" is, and I sure as hell don't care who played him. So I guess I agree with the studios who didn't rehire him.

Ben, these are the Britney Spears of movies.

You're probably right about the vast majority of them and and I won't see about seven of those listed at the cinema, but I am adamant that The Matrix story and associated tie-ins (the animatrix, online stuff, the game, etc) form a fantastic piece of entertainment. You just have to read some of the essays written and posted online that it has prompted to see that it's not another mindless piece of hollywood trash.

I don't mean to sound elitist, but I probably watch more independent cinema than most on this board, so I'm not just trying to justify a reliance on the mainstream when I say I'm genuinely excited about these two movies.

I think The Matrix will outgross all the other movies on that list.  It's also the only one I'm really looking forward to seeing. Unlike Ben though, I'm not going anywhere near the theater to see it until maybe next week.  I wan't to see it, but I don't want to deal with the opening week hoards.  I'll probably see X-men and Hulk somewhere along the line, but I don't care to see the others in the theater (and some I don't care to see in any format).

Ok, I like cars a bit... But even I know that Fast n Furious 2 wont be the top summer blockbuster... Hell, it won't even get my money.  Who's the bugger that voted for it, eh?

Matrix, will only be tops if X2 is not counted as a summer blockbuster... But seriously, both are about as close as competition it gets... Until the rest join the pack (T3, Incredible Hulk)
