Four disc?  The R2 set contained just two!  Although I'm not sure if it contained any commentaries.

However a four disc set is way over the top for 14 episodes.  Futurama S3 has 22 episodes, and'll STILL be 4 discs!

It's not just season 1
but season 1 and 2

that's why it's a 4 discs set

It looks like Cartoon Network wants to take over everything now. Good. FOX doesn't deserve these shows after the way they're treating it. Better to have everything under one channel.

It's cool, Family Guy volume 2 is already available for preorder on amazon.com. (the stated release date is september 2003)

I guess it's the 3rd (and last) season... but it says it's a 4 discs set... Odd!

Channel Four are showing apparently "new" episodes on Friday night at 2:05am, I won't stay up as they are series two and I've got the DVD.

I got it.  28 episodes (7 per disc) on 4 DVD's.  I haven't watched them, but I will start pretty soon.  Crap Wal-Marts didn't have them but thank God for Best Buy.

Anyone else got it? I went to Best Buy and Circuit City yesterday, and to my dismay they ran out of stock in the first day of release. So I ordered mine from Amazon.com. Guess I'll wait the weekend for it.

that's huge, considering the Futurama had only 4-5-4 on the discs. yes the Futurama set did have commentaries for all of them, but the Family Guy set has its fair share of commentaries as well.

has anyone heard an Australian release date? (stupid no credit card and no multi-region DVD player....)

u'll probably find the UK ones might be region 4 as well.. I dont know, but a lot of Discs in Europe are region4 as well, must be too lazy to make different PAL versions...

Did anyone order their DVDs thru Amazon? I'm just wondering because UPS sent them to my town on the 21st, and it's been 10 days I've been waiting since. I dunno what happened to the package.

The Family Guy set is both Seasons 1 and 2 (at least in America, here in the UK they're both released seperately).

Also you have to remember that every Futurama episode has an episode commentary, which is different than with FG.

False alarm, folks. There's been a technicality. A business downstairs shares the same street number as me, so it was sent to them. I finally got to get my Family Guy fix, and the DVDs are great. They come in 4 slim cases each with the episode descriptions.
