Tweek...you got to get out more. Or at least pay attention to most of my posts.
On topic, I did hear that DBGT is supposedly a lot weaker than DBZ. They attempted to return to more of a DB folklore-y, comedy than the action-dramam that DBZ was. Plus, Akira Toriyama (DB's creator) isn't involved in any of it, which smells of rank commericalism. DBZ ended up nicely, and I, for one, think it's done.
That is, unless, DBGT focuses on the second generation of Z-Sensi (Adult Gohan, Trunks, Goten, and Pan.)

I am not that big of a dbz fan, the series just seemed to go down hill after DB. They made one issue of the manga into one episode of a tv show... even if the issue was a sequence of well done fight scenes, actual time 10 seconds streatched to 22 minutes...
I watch it but I do not go out of my way to watch new episodes.

Do you want me to post links? Also: Dragon Ball Z have the worst rabid anime fans throughout the entire anime genre. I've been to chatrooms people. Give me Trigun anyday.

So I choose to watch DBZ rather than the accursed Pokemon. Well, back when Cartoon Network UK actually thought an action channel called CNX was a good idea, they showed Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop, a couple of fairly formidable adult animes. Unfortunately, CNX is now Toonami, but they still show Outlaw Star sometime after 10pm. It suffers from a lot of anime flaws but it's highly preferable to Dragonball Z. I'll admit I did enjoy some of it but after a while it got very repetative. The pacing is also terrible, you do not need ten episodes just to charge up a move. Back when Cartoon Network did Dragonball Z marathons on the occasional Sunday, you could watch an episode in the morning, then you could go play video games, go shopping, hang out with friends etc. and by the time you got back it would still be the same scenario. So, long story short: agreed.

Here's my DBZ story. I used to watch DBZ alot, I was a very avid fan. I taped every episode on Cartoon Netowrk. But then I found out from a web site called DBZ Uncencored that Funimation was ruthlessly ruining this show I loved with a crappy dub, removing the origional music, adding stupid lines and so fourth. After that I hated Funimation with every fiber of my being. Anytime an oppertunity presented itself I would curse out Funimation and hate them even more. I then searched the internet for clips from the japanese version so I could experience this wonderful show in all it's original glory, I must have spent hours searching. I found websites with very good content on DBZ. I even wasted a whole lot of paper printing out character bios from Planet Namek. Then I found out the Inernational Channel aired raw DBZ, I then asked my mom to get digital cable since it had IC and we did. They were on the last half of the Buu saga but I was so psyched to see full episodes of japanese DBZ at long last. There were no subitiles though so I printed translations off of another website, wasting more paper and money. After DBZ ended they started showing GT on IC, I taped GT for awhile then realized that I wasen't even watching the episodes and stoped taping it altogether. Then after a few months I found more anime like Rurouni Kenshin, and Inuyasha. When I watched the taped eps of DBZ again I came to the realization that I didn't care about DBZ anymore. The passion of my hatred for Funimation had diminished, and my overall interest in DBZ had diminished as well. Mabey because I got older, or mabey because I found better anime, or mabey because it just got old after awhile. But now I see DBZ for what it really is: A shallow punch-kick light show with the same basic plot over and over and over. Also you should head over to jumptheshark at www.jumptheshark.com and look up DBZ. Some of the peole in there have very interesting arguments for and against the show. The amusing ones are the people that try to defend it. One guy in there has a very interesting story about a DBZ freak he knew.
