Not all of them, and some you have to do some actual labour and jiggy-poke with the hardware... as I am led to believe.

Yup, if you have a DVD player on your computernator, you can install-jiggy some coded bits and bytes to let you be able to watch-doodle all regional DVD-mabobs...
Clear?

Crystal. I do have a DVD thing on the computer box-jiggy, but I'd rather have it for the normal DVD dooby.

Well, you can make some DVD players region free by entering the right sequence on the remote control, others you have to open it up and do some soldering or something.

Depends on how badly you want region free watching!
In any case, it's easy to Google your DVD player and it's region-free-making capabilities.  :)

DVD Reviewer has a comprehensive list of remote hackable DVD players out there.  I did both my home and portable ones using this.

There's some DVD software which bypasses region encoding and macrovision (AnyDVD), if you so require it.

I was thinking of buying Max and Paddy Road To Nowhere when it comes out on DVD. It depends on how good are the special features. I have all the episodes on tape from recording it on TV

I have DVD Region Free on my machine, bless it.

Also, my collection
+ Hero
+ National Lampoons Loaded Weapon
One of the awesomest casts in a film ever: Samuel L Jackson, Jon Lovitz, the late Phil Hartman, Emilio Esteves, Tim Curry, Whoopi Goldberg, Eric Estrada and that other dude from C.H.I.P.S, Charlie Sheen, Scotty from Star Trek, Denis Leary, and OMFG Willy Shatner!!   :laff:

The key to having a region-free DVD player is the same as the one to the region-free DVD drive in your computer...

Region codes are pointless anyway nowadays.
I demand Region 0 releases for all titles!

Agreed, pointless.  Players are hackable, and DVDs are readily available from the internet.  Surely, it would cut down on pirated material doing the rounds if DVDs from, say, America were playable on UK systems.  Those who wanted to import the discs could if they wanted.

Sometimes I do get the impression that some people in the distribution companies still haven't realized that it's no problem and perfectly legal to order DVD from another region through the internet...    :nono:

And to a different, though somehow related matter:

But with an M4 it wouldn't be authentic. After all, they used Colt Commandos.       :p

I just couldn't resist....        :evillaugh:

And yes, Heat is awesome. Which is why I bought the Special Edition. Although I already have the regular version...

Is Heat a remake of Manns L.A. Takedown or what?

The documentaries on Disc 2 are pretty cool too, he's really interested in the crime stuff.

Yeah I know. I guess I scored a point or two  on the dumb-o-meter for basically buying the same movie again, but that's the problem with DVDs these days.
For some movies there are three different versions available, see Hellboy.
If you're lucky they release them at the same time.
But mostly they release them when you least expect it.
Which reminds me, when will they release a decent version of Kill Bill?

I sold my original copy of Heat on ebay when I bought the SE.  The Se is worth it for the improved sound alone, especially during that shootout.

I don't know all the "movie" DVDs i have, not that there are a lot but because some I have on DVD and some on tape. So I'll just list the few TV shows i do have on DVD:

Futurama (all 4 seasons)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (all 7 seasons)
Seinfeld (Seasons 1-4)
Arrested Development (Season 1)
Tru Calling (Season 1)
Malcolm in the Middle (Season 1)

I think that's all of them for now. If they had put Titus on DVD I would have gotten that too.

The movie DVDS that I do have and I like are Return of the Dragon, Enter the Dragon, and other random Bruce Lee filmography

Edit: And The Job, that's in my living room, but I'm too lazy to get it and re-take the picture.

I am still ultimately without money, but last week or so I managed to afford Scrubs, Season 2, bringing my collection up to a measily 26 DVDs (or thereabouts)
