Howdy all, just got done watching the 300th episode of the Simpsons. Needless to say, I wasn't very impressed.  What does everyone else think?

I dunno if the second episode is also a new one (Lisa wins a spelling bee in this one).

But yes, the plot in the 300th episode was cliche. Most of the new episodes take 12 minutes to build up the plot and then 12 more minutes to come out with an easy resolution.

(edit)whoops, never mind my link, then. There's already a topic for that right next door.

Ugh, that third spelling bee episode wasn't much better than the previous one. I feel cheated...

The 300th episode was decent I thought, at least compared to this seasons eps. The 8:30 episode wasn't that good though.

Didn't bother, found Kingdom Hearts on expert mode to be more compelling.

Kingdom Hearts? I had that, but found it way too boring, and the combat system to be far too unpolished. But then again, different strokes for different folks. I just got done with a pretty hefty Metroid Prime marathon...playing it again through for the third time...

Yeah, I flipped over to that, too, every now and then. How as it? I've seen the play countless times, and loved it.

I was supposed to see it, but work and classes managed to prevent me. I'm not that broken up, anyways. It used to be that two new episodes would be 'must-see', now it's so 'bleh.'

music man was good, if you like musicals

so i've read various things and each one says something different. One will say the 300th ep was the best, others will say the 3001st was. some say they are both crap. what's up?

I'd love to see Futurama's 300th ep.  Simpsons should be dead and buried by now, not Futurama (only in worst case scenario, best case, roll on 300  :p).

What are the names of the 2 holiday episodes that weren't included in the 300 eps? Could anyone give me a description of them so I can see if I've seen them or not?

Didn't watch it. The thought of watching it didn't even cross my mind, in fact.

You should all stop watching The Simpsons. That way, you don't have to waste 30 minutes watching the show, and then you don't have to waste time bitching about it on the internet...it's a real time-saver.

Wow, Matthew Broderick leading a parade...it was 1986 all over again.

I agree, the entire Simpsons 'extravaganza' was a waste of recliner time.  There were several times I switched to NFL2K on my brother's Dreamcast only to realize that the commercials were probably over and that I didn't really care.

Yeah it was.  The rockandroll camp is a funny one, but they've already shown that one like 4 times this season.  The 301st episode SUCKED, and the 300th episode only had some areas that were funny.  "I want my puppy goo goo"

Marge becomes a bodybuilder.

That's the 300th episode. In the "300th" episode, Bart sues his father and gets his own apartment. And then Tony Hawk shows up for no reason.

Tony Hawk, I hate that guy. I don't get why the hell they made that stupid series of games with his name all over them.

...Why does Bart sue Homer?

To get back the money Homer took from Bart's earnings as a child TV star and wasted on naming a star that went supernova.

Therein lies much of the problem with current "The Simpsons" plots - it's impossible to sum them up in one line (that also doesn't apply to countless other eps - this is the exact same problem that Voyager encountered in it's last 4 years).

Everyone says the Simpsons is going down and kinda agree but all the new episodes are good for a laugh. Not as good as the old ones but they are still good. I will continue to love The Simpsons till it draws it's last beath which hopefuly wont be for a long time.

I agree; the new episodes are certainly much better than anything else (except Futurama  :D).

"The Simpsons" can still pull the occasional gem, and Season 14 in particular seems to be trying to be less "wacky" and more like the earilier seasons, but I think the writers are just too plain cynical to be able to pull off touching moments and genuine guilt ATM.

Because people want to play a game about skateboarding, why not get a celebrity skater to endorse it?
