Well, even if a character dies he/she will almost certainly come back as a ghost. If Rowling is still copying Star Wars that is.
"Use the force, er, Harry!"

Amazingly you can easily pick up a copy of The Order Of The Phoenix at your local Waitrose. The locals were apparently queing up outside the shop in Eaton this morning before it openned. Thus began a period, that I understand, came close to what I call " Stupidly Busy" Anyway, I was presuming this would be a city bookstore only thing, and in most likelyhood one would go in and find that the books were so booked up they wouldn't be able to buy one for a month. Apparently not, if you go to your local Waitrose store. It's funny, apart from my parents, almost everyone I speak too and ask what they think of Harry Potter, then the answer is usally the same - "Meh..."

Oy... Just finsihed the book, spent a good chunk of the the day reading it. Not that bad but had some annoying problems.... Rowling seems TO LIKE CAPS LOCK WHEN CHARACTERS ARE YELLING! Just seems sloppy and not something that should be done with people used to the internet There was a lot of little things that seemed to be made to throw into the background of movies, little background jokes didn't remember them before The Death.... Might as well put spoiler warnings even though I am not going to say who it is... I guess I reread the Song of Fire and Ice series before this book... bad idea. The death came and I thought "that was it?" Was expecting a more major character to die more surprisingly. Sort of predictable Rowling also needed to trim a little, but I don't think her readers care about pacing problems. The plot is good, although a little familiar to the past books. I did like a lot of the new characters, Tonk and Luna seem interesting. Four Stars out of Five

I have been thinking about the book a little, I forgot to say some of the better things that it did.
The characters actually changed and are progressing nicely. Most characters in the book actually seemed to be real people with issues. Rowling also did go the over the top Anime angst route that could have occoured (there is a little bit of it but most 15 year olds are angsty anyways)
I also am happy that the character descriptions did not change because of the movies. When I was reading with the exeption of some minor characters I did not think of the films. (Well exept for Snape but that is just because I like Alan Rickman as an actor)
The dialog is good, also there seemed to be much less Americonization then usual, lots of Brittish stuff made it in like queue for line and so on.
And as I said before Caps should be used for 1: Prophacy 2: Death 3: Annoying interenet people

After seeing the first film, I thought is was pretty well made technically but that the acting (childrens acting anyway) was pretty poor. Yet my sister kept on insisting that Harry Potter is fantastic. So I read the books. And I have to admit they're very very good. The films provide light entertainment but the books have a genuine sense of magic, kind of a cross between Tolkien and Roald Dahl. My sister already has the fifth book when she's finished with it i'll give it a go. If you have judged Harry Potter by the films and huge marketing and overhype, atleast read the source material before you make your mind up, you'll be plesently suprised. Afterall, there is a reason why Hary Potter has become so huge, he didn't win 'book idol' or something!

Just finished reading the book last night...I think the caps-lock in yelling is a way to express that they're REALLY pissed off. You notice that she doesn't use it all the time when people are yelling....but Harry's got a bit of an anger control problem, doesn't he? Other than that, it was great book. can't wait for the next one...wonder how many pages it's gonna be in, andif they'll resort to printing it in 11 point font this time?
