I've actually heard two rumours/spoilers:

But I do know that 2 people die in this one. And Harry being a Horcrux is probable. Or Neville? Seeing as though he's part of the prophecy too. Maybe.

Seems that Winna's second spoiler may be true, so don't click on his link either. The above link contains chapter summaries and scans of pages of the book that reveal critical moments, including the whole of the final chapter. I have to say, this is either real or a fake that somebody spent a LOT of time energy and money putting together.

I have been thoroughly spoilered in my attempt to confirm the information given in Winna's link. If you do not want to be thoroughly spoilered yourself, do not click the link I have provided.

However, if you're curious and want to know, then your curiosity should be satisfied.

Personally, I don't mind being spoilered. It's no worse than reading a TV guide in my opinion. To be honest, there are some things that are being given away as massive spoilers that really everybody more or less should have known about. There are some things that are slightly surprising, but given Rowling's penchant for foreshadowing I can see why none of the spoilered material should be a major surprise.

I don't consider the seventh book to have been ruined for me by the spoilers, but I do think that people should think carefully before they go looking for spoilers. I have posted this here because I think it's useful to know that there are major spoilers out there, and anybody who rolls their cursors over the link can see the url - which they can then avoid like the plague if they feel the need.

I feel sad for the people who need everything to be a surprise for it to be enjoyable though.

I'm amazed that somebody would take the time to upload all 600+ pages of that book, if it's true, which, for some reason, I doubt it is. But if it is, wow. How'd he get it and why'd he waste his time leaking it to the whole world when he can get into huge trouble for it?

Well, anyway, can we all have a gentleman's agreement to put anything that might be even a small leak in spoilers? For the sake of those who haven't seen the leak, won't be able to get it at its release, or whatever other reason.

I just read the summery on wikipedia (I know I'm lame.) And while I'll probably read the book later there's one thing about the epilogue that I thought was stupid.

The fuck? Ron and Hermione get married, Harry and Ginny get married, Tonks and Lupin get married, serious what the hell! It's like something out of a shippy fanfiction story written by a hormone driven 12 year old.

Also... I don't see it as farfetched that several of the major characters got married at the end spacedal.  The wizard world seemed like a small niche society of people, and within smaller groups it's very common that people marry the people that they've known as children.

I've read the book now. I can say with some certainty that the ending of Harry Potter beats the ending to the Dark Tower with a big 'ol can-stick-bag of whoopass.

It's not a great ending, but I'm just grateful that Harry didn't open the door at the top of Gryffindor tower and step back in time to be reborn as his one-ear-old self. That would have sucked.

Some thoughts.

I always thought that Snape was on Dumbledore's side, but throughout the book I really doubted him, so good on Rowling for that! I also liked the fact that Dumbledore wasn't the Best Person Ever, and I thought the story about his family was rather intriguing. Bathilda!Snake was sooo scary :|

Ron deserting them was pretty cool, too, I think, although kind of expected. It was good that he came back and saved Harry, and I was wondering whose patronus the doe was, so much!!! Graaa.

Remus and Tonks was kind of stupid, I think it's like it materialised out of nowhere. I experienced stings of glee when I read that Remus looked unhappy and said marrying her was a mistake, but then, oh, baby. Damn. I wish there had been more of Remus in the book, unfortunately his death didn't affect me at all, and I thought I'd be the saddest person ever if he died.

And Fred. Oh, Fred, I weep. That was definitely extremely sad. But it was cool that Percy came back.

Hehe, I liked jealous!Ginny when Cho wanted to show Harry the Ravenclaw common room. :X

I really liked the scene where Ron destroyed the locket.

I thought it was cool that Harry had to sacrifice himself, I kind of thought it would happen, the whole Harry's scar is a horcrux thing. I was also a bit sad, though, but I don't know how I feel about the whole Harry not being dead anyways (or being able to come back). But it was really cool that Neville killed Nagini, although I'd hoped he'd kill Bellatrixxx as well. But, go Mrs Weasley! She's cool.

And Snape, oh, poor Snape. :[ I was so sad when he died, and I understood that he was good then, and I hoped that Harry would learn somehow. I liked looking in the pensieve, I KNEW SNAPE WAS IN LOVE WITH LILY, it was rather heartbreaking, poor Snape. I'm just glad he got redeemed to Harry.

The whole Deathly Hallows thing, I am not sure, I haven't really made up my mind yet.
Voldemort dying was cool, but expected. When Dumbledore said that he also lived, I was kind of bummed, but then he died, and I'm glad it was not a killing curse. Good on you, Harry!

KREACHER WAS AWESOME. Aaaww, I loved the story about Regulus. Poor Kreacher.
RIP Dobby. And Hedwig!

The epilogue was a bit, eeh. But it was okay, I guess.

I pulled an all-nighter, finished it in like 12 hours or so, then promptly fell asleep almost immediately. I liked it! Thoughts:

Dobby's death was probably the Saddest Thing Ever. Most of the others deaths were, while indeed tragic or whatever, pretty much what you'd expect. I hoped both twins would survive, but knew that with two copies, one's number was probably up. And Colin Creevey taking a bullet was sad, too.

I so called Snape's story -- except for them knowing each other pre-Hogwarts. Interesting twist. But I definitely had pegged Snape's hatred for Harry as being the result of Lily's dying for him -- even worse since he was James Potter's kid, of all people. And I understand why Harry looks up to his dad and all, but I'm not convinced James ever stopped being an ass.

Hooray, J.K., for not making Hermione the hinted-at future professor, which would have been the obvious choice. I hope kids respect Neville as a total badass.

I wanted to hear about Luna in the epilogue, though I understand it wasn't really there to talk about anyone beyond the main three. I really hope relations between the Malfoys and Potters aren't too cold -- Harry needs to man up and try to mend that bridge. I mean come on, you saved his life; don't let him get away with being all weird about it. And awesome that Alby's middle name is Severus.

Harry annoyed me by not even thinking of using the Marauder's Map to find Ron & Hermione during the Battle for Hogwarts. I couldn't remember if he had his stuff with him, but going back to grab it would have made a lot more sense than wandering around trying to find them. Although, as soon as he hears "bathroom", how he could think of anything other than Myrtle's I don't know. And still he wanders aimlessly!)

Question: who the hell is that Victoire person Teddy's snogging at the end, in the epilogue? Are we supposed to assume that's Bill & Fleur's kid, or is there a direct refernce somewhere in the books?

Final thought: They better not fuck up The Battle for Hogwarts in the film adaptation, because if they can do it right it might be one of the best things ever. Even as I read it, I couldn't wait for the movie.

I also pulled an all nighter and finished it early sunday morning. I was satisfied by the body count but upset about who made up said body count. I spent the whole book going "Shit not her!" "Shit not him!" "Gah! NO!" The movie could very well rock if done correctly. I could have done without the epilogue, but it wasn't that bad.

This is how much I was in denial when I first read that chapter:

Because I was that desperate to believe Remus and Tonks would make it out alive, despite all the evidence to the contrary.  Remus is my favorite Marauder, my favorite character next to Snape, and... I saw this coming, I really did; I just didn't want to believe it.

So, all of my favorite characters were murdered.  I keep running into angst-ridden fanart on dA and bursting into tears as I relive all of their deaths.  Save for the attrocious epilogue (oh my Lord, I could feel fanfiction.net seeping between the lines as I struggled through that chapter), I thought this was a good book.  It's not my favorite, and I'm still struggling to decide whether this was the best of the seven or not, but I thought it made up for the semi-disappointment that was Half-Blood Prince.  It lived up to my  cautious expectations, regardless.

Fred!  He was my favorite Weasely; I was fully expecting Ron to die, but offing Fred came out of nowhere for me.

Although, in retrospect, I suppose I should have seen it.  George losing an ear might have been a deliberate hint that another pair entirely would be separated. 

Also, was I the only one irked that she didn't so much as mention George or the fate of the shop at the end?  I wanted to know how he handled losing his closest brother and friend.

I thought the writing was great, but, as I said before I read it, I hated the "Harry is a Horcrux" idea. I found it so cheesy that he died and came back.

It seems like there was some character development that we didn't get to see between this book and the last book. It's probably just the effects of war, but some of the characters seemed a little too different in personality.

I liked the image of Harry as master of Death, but the whole search for Hallows thing was a bit average and I feel like I knew that was coming from the title.

Also, how is Teddy on the Hogwarts Express kissing? He should be almost 20 years old by that time.

Anyway, I enjoyed the book. Couldn't put it down actually, same with all the others in the series. JKR is wonderful at creating scenes and setting the mood. I thought there was a great balance between intensity, emotion, and plot advancement.

Edit: I forgot to add, I also went to see the latest movie because I was told that the acting was better than in the previous movies. Well, they stuck to the book pretty well, but the acting was still so bad to me that I doubt I'll ever watch another Harry Potter movie again.

I saw Snape being good coming. JK wouldn't just leave it as "He's bad. Sorry. Get used to it." The fact that he killed Dumbledore at his request was both a shock and something I saw coming. And I loved how Snape had a thing for Lily and how that explained so much in the books.

The "Harry is a Horcrux" thing was expected and explains a lot (like how the phoenix feather wand picked him) but was very, very cheesy.

Overall, it was my favorite book since Prisoner of Azkaban. It explain enough for me to be happy.

On the Epilogue: I agree with the statement of it feeling very fanfic-ish. For one thing, I don't like Ginny much. Seriously. She just annoys the hell out of me, and the fact that she's with Harry at the Epilogue made me mad. I already had guessed that Neville would become a Professor, so it was cool that it was true. The only other cool thing that came from the Epilogue was that Harry gave Albus the middle name of Severus. I was wondering why neither of his sons were named Sirius, though I guessed that James's middle name was Sirius.

Also, on who Victoire is: I can't deny that Teddy Lupin is definitely 19 in the Epilogue, coming that the title of the Epilogue is "Nineteen Years Later". Therefore, he shouldn't be at Platform 9 & 3/4, but I have a theory why he's there, and it has to do with Victoire: since Teddy'd be out of Hogwarts for 2 years by the point of the Epilogue, it is possible that, in the the 2 years after the story ended, that Bill and Fleur had a child, and now that child was a 7th Year at Hogwarts. Victoire and Teddy has met in Hogwarts and had continued their relations although Teddy had left. Personally, this seems like the most likely solution

Now with that done, there's not much else to post... In fact, ther's nothing else to post.
