your born with magic in your blood, its not something you learn, its like a gift. Thats what seperates magic with muggles. Isn't Harry's mother and father both magical... how does that work?

Maybe you get magical abilities through little creatures that live inside you and connect you to magic. People with more of these little creatures would obviously have greater magical ability than those lacking them. We could call them "magiclorians."

I guess after a lot of secondguessing, it's really impossible to tell just from lineage exactly how great a wizard someone will be. I mean.. I'd say it is rather like the force.. No, George, you CAN'T just measure 'force' with a scanner...

ok, harry's lineage Harry's Mother Lily (Evans) Potter was born of Muggle parents, which makes her a "Mud Blood" James Potter was born of a pure blood wizarding family. They did the wizarding nasty and had harry, as his mother was of muggle origin he is half blood.
and if you finally dont believe it, flick to the back end somewhere of book 5, its is clearly stated that harry is half blood

TEH ZOMBIE THREAD!
Well, we've got Goblet of Fire coming out this year, commence speculation on what storylines will be ruthlessly hacked away.
First guess: Fred, George, and Bagman.

Wow, I can barely even remember the jist of what happens in that book. All I remember is that Cedric and Harry get transported to the Voldemort place at the end of the book, and Cedric gets killed, and I remembered the world cup.

One thing I know they left out of the movie that nobody's said yet: the maze being in the Quiditch Field.
Who do you think is the Half Blood Prince, or the person that might be killed in the book? I have no idea on the Prince, but I have a feeling that either Ron or Dumbledore is killed in the next book.

Rowlings likes to pull the plot twist out of left field two parks over. Villains tend to be incidental characters. People you don't even think about.
For that reason, I think the Half-blood Prince is Dumbledore.
Also, I do believe Dumbledore will not survive the series. But I don't think he's gone until book 7.

I have got to go to the local Library. Quite conviniet, since I've just remembered I have books needing to be taken back.

Dumbledore as the Half Blood Prince? We don't know much of his past, so it's possible. I don't think she'd make Harry it, since he's the main character and it would be too obvious or cliche.

uh...wouldn't the half-blood prince be Voldemort? That seems to be the most likely person to me.
