Well I never had the books but I know the first series was based on the books and that was what made it good. The newer series are just made up slapstick children's humour and are, quite frankly, awful. What was the deal with them living on a boat for God's sake?

Harmony's and Melody's parents had gone on a long holiday somewhere - I think it was Australia - and so they went to live with their auntie in a canal boat. There they met a girl called Dino (but her real name was Geraldine) who I think was their cousin. She had the Queen's Nose...blah blah blah and it goes from there..

When I was in France I managed to see the French version of Countdown...it was OK, except they've changed the amazing theme tune! Needless to say I was most dissapointed...

Yeah.  :\  Kinda freaky.  I can hear the fighter jets outside flying around, since I live by an air-force base.

And I *would've* watched Futurama but I missed it... >___<  Dammit.

The French version is even funnier - the host kind of a cross between Anne Robinson & Liza Tarbuck (sp?)...
