So, a guy hates anime so he complains about it in a thread where people who like anime read?

This is stupid and leads to flaming, you moron!

And that has what to do with the topic?

And also, you take things even more seriously by pointing it out AND commenting it.

Hey fryfan if you were half as clever as you think you are ...

Also, Paranoia Agent was much better than I expected, though I found the first episodes better than the last.

That is all...

Can any of you fine anime fans tell me of some good sites to get fansubs?  Do they usually use torrents for fansubs or some other transfer method?  The reason I ask is I bought a HK version of the first part of Macross Zero some time ago because it had "English" subtitles on it (the legit Bandai release doesn't).  I got the urge to watch it again yesterday, but the Babelfish like translation of the subtitles really got on my nerves.  I figure there's got to be a better translation than what's on the crappy bootleg I have.

On the topic of Satoshi Kon, I just watched his movie Millenium Actress.

Plain and simple, it fuckin' kicks ass. The style with which Kon completely blurs the line between reality and the movies of the main character is done so incredibly. And of course, like Tokyo Godfathers after this one, Millenium Actress' main strength is the incredibly strong story.

Best part: The cameraman's reaction upon entering the WWII part. So ignorantly hilarious...

Yeah, it was, and Satoshi Kon is officially my hero, after finishing Paranoia Agent, I watched Perfect blue, and now I'm about to watch Millenium Actress, and I'm downloading Tokyo Godfathers. He knows how to make you think, that's what I like about his style.

Speaking of Paranoia Agent, I'm pissed that Adult Swim changed its time slot to 1:00AM without bothering to update the schedule on their website (this was last Saturday).   Much to my displeasure, this meant I ended up with Inuyasha on my VHS tape instead of Paranoia Agent.  Not exactly what I was looking for.  Now I've missed an episode and whatever small amount of continuity was contained in it.  I guess I'll have to figure out how to use bittorrent and get myself that episode so I can see it.

It's updated now, but I swear it wasn't when I looked at the schedule last Saturday.  And yes, yes I did miss the reairing on Thursday because I didn't know about it until you just told me.  That's what I get for not checking the schedule for the whole week.

Adult Swim's been repeating new eps from Saturday and Sunday nights on Thursday night since they started running Fullmetal Alchemist and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex...thought you knew that. Oh well...

Make sure you pick up the special edition of the volurme 7 release.  It contains a tin to hold all the DVDs and it comes with a Laughing Man T-shirt.

Cool.  I bookmarked it so I can download the video when I'm done watching Paranoia Agent.  I don't want to spoil anything for myself by watching it now.

EDIT:
Oh shit, that's one hefty file!

Tip: Render with the XVID codec. That'd cut that baby's filesize in half. But besides that, that was a sweet-ass AMV, Pitt.

...I have some MVs of my own, but they're all Teen Titans MVs....I'd make a PA one, but I dunno if Vegas Video can recognize .mkv files...

Well I finnaly got around to watching my DVD's of Robotech (the macross saga) and while I did enjoy it I can see it has aged.

I am not talking about the animation aging badley but the story telling tehcnique. The pace is fast (sometimes ridculously so).

Never the lest it is fun in it's own way.

Next I will try and see Paranoia Agent and the new Appleseed film.

@RavenSlay: I'd totally watch your MVs.

@Pitt: Kickass, I want to try my hand at AMVs, especially PA, or Azumanga videos, but first I must "aquire" a video editing program, then get good at it. Is Premiere easy at all to use, by any chance?

Premiere's professional as hell, but kindaeasy to use. I use Vegas Video for mine, but Premiere has more tricks and whistles than Vegas.

And GP, check the TT thread for the link to my TT MVs.

I'm not sure if this has been posted already, but I just saw this posted on another forum and I'm pretty damn excited. From what I've heard this new series will stick closer to the manga and the episodes will be a little longer than the old ones.

edit: More stuff about it here.

Well over the past few days I have been fortunant enough to watch some pretty amazing anime but as they have had pretty good reviews already I shall just give my thoughts on them.

Read or Die the tv series

It has been a long time since I saw the OVA to ROD but I am pretty sure I enjoyed the TV show more. There was more plot and character developement and a hell of alot more intrigue. While it is slow to get started the series works really well.

A

Paranoia Agent

Wow just wow. This is one impressed anime fan. As there has beena pretty extensive review on this I will just say watch this anime

A+

Well, the end is nigh.  Adult Swim aquired Neon Genesis Evangelion, and not just the first eps either.  Every last pretentious, mind boggeling, fanservicing one of them.  Cartoon network, what did I ever do to you?  Couldn't you have grabbed Nadesico instead?
