To steal the TOTPD..

Anyone here also seen the first season of "Hellsing"? It's got explosions and a vampire! I think the second season should be airing soon, like sometime this year. It's all good, if you like bloody, gothic, vampire battles. And who doesn't?

A good anime series by my standard. Walter's one heck of a servant, and I loved Victoria's "gun". Can't wait to "acquire" next seasons' episodes.  :p
Blue Submarine No.6review
A 4-parter series about your usual post-apocalyptic world. This time around, mad scientist Dr Zondyke changes the Earth's magnetic field, causing Earth to be submerged. Side effect: A couple of billion people die. He also unleashes his mutants hybrids to wipe out the remaining humans. Blue Force is mankind last stand.
Plenty of submarine/mecha dogfights scattered all around. Plot twist occurs in last episode. (Don't they always?) Not quite thought provoking, but enjoyable.
Overall7/10.

Caught up on quite a lot of anime recently, just watched Blue Gender series 1 - the guy's a total tosser, who'll never eat another brussel sprout in his life, but apparently series two gets better.  So far, my favourite is Macross plus on DVD.  Metropolis was okay, but it looked freakily like a cross between tintin & Disney.

Sorry wasn't specific enough. i meant the song from the end of the Episdoe The Real Folk Blues part 2. The Song from the end of the last episode of the entire series.

Not to worry i found it all by myself, granted it was random luck. FYI the song is called Blue.

Buying DVDs for all my fave series...still hurts my wallet. I'm just going to complete my Trigun and Evangelion collection and then get a 100GB hard drive for my extra videos.

Blue Sub Six (all four Ep's), was on CNX the other night and I taped it, coz I'd seen bits of it on the first run.  I thought the mix of computer and standard anime animation was pretty cool.

Thought it was pretty good.

Excel Saga review
A 26-parter series. The plot is er.., non-existent/ takes a back seat. In summary, it is about "Across", a secret agency trying to take over the world. But first, they must conquer F city of F province.
Basically, each episode is a parody is a different genre of movie.(i.e Action, Romance, Political Drama, etc) The storytelling is just plain weird/absurd/wacky. (Just make note of the side plot, and see what I mean)If you can withstand the hyper, high-pitched dialogue of the main female character, you can actually enjoy this series. Plus, all of the other characters have their own outrageous characteristic.
Overall 8.5
Note: It also has a ruthless "That Guy" character.   :p Also, last episode is a parody of *cough*Hentai*cough*.   :D

Just started watching fansubs of ..Hack//Sign, looks intresting. Wondering if the music in the series is horribly overbearing or is it just my copy... I have no clue how anyone could have heard the dialog who was watching it without subs.

What is up with anime's either being really long (like a 6000 episode dragon ball) or really short (like 26 for Cowboy Bebop)?  And even though I haven't seen ALLL the episodes of Cowboy Bebop, being extremely interested I want more like 100.

Usually, anime shows are set up to only run 2 seasons. Therefore, the plot's tight and it moves along at a good pace. Those are 'drama' series. The long series are just long like that, because, well, I don't know. Those are usually the more 'merchandising' anime.

The only stuff I get from the internet are the new series like Angelic Layer or Hack Dusk (2nd season for Hack Sign). Older greats like Evangelion or Cowboy Bebop are readily available on DVD, so I want those legit.

I ordered Neon Genesis: Evangelion on DVD a few weeks ago.  I enjoyed it quite a bit.  Not a fan of the finale though.  It'll be a while before I try to get another series on DVD (its expensive)

I'm not a fan of Anime in general.  I've seen the "required viewing" ones like Ghost in the Shell and Perfect Blue etc.  They didn't do much for me.  However, I've got a soft spot for "All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku"  I also ssaw the first (only?) episode of City Hunter Yohoko.  I though that was pretty good.

EDIT:

^Oddly enough, Utena is my supervisor's wallpaper on the system in the "Assembly Room" where I work....She's hot!  Never seen Utena though.

Inu Yasha is around 100 episodes long, but I haven't seen it myself. I dunno if it's my preference either. Anyways, I'm more interested in looking into and hoarding the newer anime that's coming out. Like Naruto and Great Teacher Onizuka, which will probably NEVER come out to the US, because it's about a high school teacher whose goal is to get laid with one of his students. It's not hentai, just clever, raunchy humor.

You guys should check out the Nadesico music video which is played with the Futurama theme song.

I like to watch anime, and heard rave reviews about Princess Mononoke.  Me and my girlfriend decided to rent it.  I personally didn't like it... The animation was great, but the storyline wasn't as compelling as I thought it would be.

Anyhow, if you like Anime with RacingI'd recommend Initial D.  Based on real cars racing through the mountain passes.  Do a search on Google and you'll find plenty of info on it.

Well I'm currently watching the new Tenchi series Tenchi Muyo GXP. So far I am enjoying it very much. I'll give a more detailed synopsis later.

Before thatI watched Outlaw star. I twas a very good series but I was kinda dissapointed with the ending.
I also watched Hellsing. Apart from some of the accents, do we Brittish really sound like that, it was a really fun series. Go Vampire go.

The new Tenchi series is out? Cool! Have to check it out!

American Cartoon Network is going to show Trigun soon, right now they are airing Hack//Sign, and Kenshin. I normally do not care about dubs but Kenshin seems to work better in Japanese... no Oros!

i really want to see the series called 'Chobits'. its about a guy who is a poor failing college student who finds a junker persocom (persocoms are humanoid robots). the persocom looks like an adolescent girl and all she can say is Chi. there are horror and romantic aspects in the series not to mention the charachter Chi is really cute.

Chii is cute, though I can't stand so hear hear talk a lot. I actually like the subplot of Chobits over the main one (friend's affair w/teacher, and the landlady).

A new series that I'm starting to like is Naruto. It follows the life of a ninja boy of the same name who strives to become the fifth Hokage (title given to the most legendary of ninjas). It mixes feudal Japan with some goofy, although hilarious concepts. Example: some manuevers that ninjas train to master, like the clone or transform techniques. Wait and see how Naruto uses them!

Okay I have now finshed GXP so hers' my synopsis.

All in all another good Tenchi series. The only peoblem i had with it was the bad subbing but that's not the shows fault.
Although this is a Tenchi series Tenchi and the girls are not the stars (in fact Tenchi, Ryoko, Ayeka, Sasami and Mihoshi only appear as talking characters in one episode Washu appears slightly more often)
The show focuses on a boy from Tenchi's town called Seina who is possible the most unlucky peson in the universe who is accidently sined up to the Galexy Police.
Like the previuos series there is a love triangle of sorts between Seina and four girls who are introduced through the series (I won't say any more it might ruin it) Although this isn similar to Tenchi's situation that is where the similarity really ends.  Seina does not seem so bothered by the girls affection, he does get alot of nose bleeds though (a nose bleed is symbolic in japanese if you want to know let's look it up because I don't think you should hear it from me)
This seies is one of the only ones that actually carries on from the Tenchi Muyo OVA ( set two years after Tenchi had released Ryoko from the cave and it is set after the so far unscreened third OVA). As such so other familiar faces return such as the Emperor of Jurai and his wives. Also returning is Seiryu Tenman (the guy with pink hair form the end of the second Tenchi OVA) now a teacher at the GXP.
All in all this is a funny series and the animation is very nice indeed. Let's just say I really liked it  :)

My friend just got the DVD set for the whole first season of Hellsing, for $25.99. That's practically $2 per episode! It's the real deal, too. The packaging is great and it also has an English dub. Just take a look. Looks like I found a new favorite place to buy my anime.
