50% anime fans are idiots. 50% assholes.
You read the fanfiction some of them have written and you tend to agree.

I can make that latter claim just looking at the side of the new Eva box I got that came with the DVD. I'll be looking foward to it. Oh Asuka. The bitchiness is completely evaporated the farther you go into the series. Well, maybe not exactly, but you'll understand why exactly she's like that. Plus, she is incredibly cute. On a related Evangelion topic, is it possible to be both a fan of Asuka and Rei? Because I seem like the only person who "loves" both of them with no ill will toward the other.

I, too, love both Asuka and Rei. They're so gorgeous, it makes up for the fact that Asuka's got major issues and Rei's a ice queen. Shinji doesn't have very much to redeem his whininess.. Ritsuko and Maya are still my favorite characters, though. I've cosplayed both of them.

Thing is about Kaworu. He was one of the only characters (apart from his mother) to show Shinji true affection. This is also probably why he felt so betrayed by him/it. Now I like both Rei and Asuka with more of a leaning to Asuka. Just one thing Don't people think that Shinji getting together with Rei is abit sick. I eman she has thesoul of the the mother of all humans (Lilith) and her body is the a clone of his own mother. Just seems abit sick to me I was just looking through ANIDB (great site) and I saw an extra episode called "After the end". Now I posted a pic in the anime pic post with the same name but I thought it was a mock up pic but now I am more curious, does anyone know about this episode? Anywho. I just started reading One Piece and I have got to say it is great. I mean it has a guy made of Rubber and pirates, what more do you need?

@Wu Yep, I agree. But thats only because I've seen the series now. For the first half (or was it two thirds?) the Shinji and Rei thing was definately plausible. And as with Slacky, I'm all for Rei. I used to hate Asuka until I saw EoE but either way Rei still rocks my boat. Reminds me of that Seat car ad playing on UK tv at the mo....Edit. Slacky, shame on you trying to sound 'not so bad' by telling yourself she's 15. Down one more I think.

Really? Oh well, she's still mentally disturbed and cool. Like all the best women are. Except for the ones that try to kill you. Stay away from those ones. Incidently, wu_konguk when did that whole Rei is a clone of Shinji's mother and carries the soul of Lilith thing come up? Though, now that you mention it, it makes a lot of sense. Is that in that last movie? I'll see it one day... (Of course, the possiblity exists that it came up in the show and I forgot about it... it's been a while.)

Around episodes 22-24 (not sure about 25 though) and yes, in the Eva movie too.

It's obvious she has an emotional attatchment to Shinji (which I read as 'love') but I don't think that extends physically. Either way, we all know that Shinji would end up with Asuka anyway.

Well, you know what they say when an opportunity arises. Edit. For those that do read fanfics and have seen the Eva series etc.. then I recommend this fic. Its comedy based, so there isn't much shippyness in it if any at all. Without trying to sound to much like a plug though, do read, its one of the funniest fics I've ever read.

@Wu: Nobody said it yet.. But a few posts up, the 'After the End' pic.. Is it the three children slightly older? With Shinji holding Asuka, and Rei naked as usual? I found that a while back and was dismayed to learn that it's only a REALLY REALLY good fanart. And the whole Lilith and Yui and Rei thing... Who cares? Shinji's too busy strangling/jacking off over Asuka to get involved. EDIT: Pitt! You should know that doesn't count! It was the LCL sea and the breakdown of the AT field, therefore everyone is the same person, therefore the two of them are more like conjoined twins than two people copulating. Just look at Rei's hands! ..I won't deny the suggestive nature of the pose, of course..

----- This goes with the bit on the beach when he is strangling Asuka, since Asuka can be seen as his self loathing. This kind of fits the fact that when he fails she say's
"How disgusting"
Continuing with the Evangelion/Freud connotations I made before, there really is an "Absolute Terror Field" that Sigmund Freud discussed. In Freud's view, the AT Field kept human beings' souls seperate from each other, which is an interesting turn for a 'forcefield.' Rei and Shinji's AT Fields merging together could be a sign that they finally accepted each other and would merge their souls.
On point two, in the original (illegal) subtitled version I had of End of Eva, Asuka's last line is ommitted. Is this just because of the copy, or was it really like that in the Japanese version?
