LOTR, I haven't seen harry potter but the sight of him makes me want to bitch slap him around the place so I doubt I could sit through a whole film about him

But I disliked the way they screwed around with things in TTT. The ents decided at entmoot to attack Saruman in the book. So they should have, in the movie. No reason for the way they changed that. And there's Arwen/Aragorn stuff happening that was never in the book. And then chopping off the fight with Shelob.... leaving Shelob for the next movie?! Makes me very angry. And the breaking of Saruman's staff. Correct me if I'm wrong, that's also at the end of the second book.
Well, at least there were oliphants.

Dude, they pulled the Arwen/Aragorn thing from the appendices of Return Of The King.
But I agree, they did shortchange the Ents a bit. And they could've restrained the Helm's Deep battle. But wait till' the extended DVD comes out. They'll probably have more Ent stuff in that. But the Shelob thing, I think it made for a good setup to the next movie. It doesn't matter, it's gonna be a hell of a good movie once it's all patched together with the extended stuff...

I was a bit disappointed in Two Towers, it was definitely less entertaining than the Fellowship of the Ring. With Star Wars, it's the other way around, thus I voted Star Wars. (But all three series are still great though)

Now that I've seen Two Towers, I'll say that it was the BETTER film, but CoS was the more ENTERTAINING film.

This is precisely why I'm glad I never read The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. To go and see these great movies then do nothing but bitch about them is pretty sad.

Yeah Ben you honky!!
I think if I didn't read the book the film would be just another action film that came from some book I couldn't be arsed to read!
But I was arsed, and it was worth it!!

Dagnammit, I've to wait a week before my stupid lazy college bum cronies will go see TT with me.
Bah!!

Actually I think both movies are among the best I have ever seen, and I haven't read the books either.

But I've heard plenty of people bitch about alterations done to the story line, or additions like the elves at Helms Deep. I still want to smack the guy (not a PEELer, someone I know in RL) who complained about that, those elves looked cool as hell.
