I'm afraid I don't understand the hostility here.  I dislike something you like, and you like something I don't.  What's the big deal?  We both have an opinion on the show, and that's all they are, opinions.  You're not going to change my mind by arguing with me or insulting my intelligence, and neither will I change yours.  I can live with that, why can't the rest of you?

The theme tune to Dragonball Z alone made me dislike anime. Not to mention in one of the 2 episodes I manage to make myself watch, the hero thought a dog (or some other animal) was a martial arts master. I mean, really.   :p

I've tried unsuccessfully to watch and enjoy DragonBall-Z.  Although I have to admit to liking Anime (we get a good line in that on TV now we have CNX here in UK).

Gotta agree with Nurdy - Ghost In The Shell rules!

(ahem)

I know what Teral's talking about. Goku's just a moron, plain and simple. (This is when he confused Bubbles the monkey with the King Kai).

And, on CN, at leat, they don't play the ultra-cheesy "Rock the Dragon" theme. You got to love those 80s throw-back themes.

Oh, and I maintain that "Ghost in the Shell" is highly overrated. You want good cyber-punk anime concerning evolution and the emergence of an artifical consciousness, go watch "Serial Expieriments: Lain".

Lain's really cool (and it's short and easy to find, too!) The only problem would be that if you'd already seen End of Evangelion, some of the same themes and metaphors are repeated.

Oh, and it should be simple to find. I managed to rent the first 3 discs from a local mom-and-pop video store. The remaining three, I, ahem 'acquired' legally.

You gotta have a strong dedication for watching DBZ. There are almost as many DBZ episodes as there are Simpsons episodes. In those terms, the Cell fight lasts for 1 1/2 seasons!

DBZ's not known for its good music. The battle background music is this weird 80's electro, and it sounds like baboons in heat. But comparing DBZ to good stuff like Cowboy Bebop is like comparing apples to carburetors.

Am I glad they got rid of Capitol Critters because I was obsessed with that show when I was in first grade. Then some girls, older or younger began to reenact Capitol critters. Ever since I have lost interest in that cartoon.

Hey! I watched both "Capitol Critters" and "Family Dog" way back when I was 7 or 8. For the whole (combined) month those shows were on. I didn't really like them, but I knew that they were between two shows I liked, so I watched them.

Out of the three, Fish Police was the only one I never saw.

I caught the original version of "Family Dog" last night; it was part of Steven Spielberg's "Amazing Stories". It was actually in the works long BEFORE the Simpsons... and who knows... if it had aired first (and it hadn't sucked ass) we might still be watching it today.

Hey, I liked that show! I only saw one episode though. And now that you mention it, it may have been the original short. But I remember liking it.

Capitol Critters sucked, but I watched it anyway. Sadly, I never watched Fish Police, even though I am a huge Jon Ritter fan.

Semi-recent cartoons that I hate: Clerks. I'm not a huge fan of the movie either, but oy! I caught an episode during some Comedy Central marathon, and it blew.

I remember Dog City. Wasn't Jim Henson involved with that, somehow? I never watched it, because I hated his other venture into animation(Muppet Babies). But I remember commercials advertising it as "Jim Henson's" Dog City.
