I think A Clockwork Orange was quite over the top for a late sixties early seventies.

Clockwork Orange still has the power to shock these days, great film, although I enjoy Natural Born Killers, I don't find it all that shocking.

I think the most shocking is actually an even older film than Clockwork Orange, namely Psycho

Doberman
It 's a French action movie (yeah go ahead, laugh), but it 's brutal. There 's a guy who kicks the shit out of his young wife, on the street. Two policemen just watch, it, entertained, while they eat a hot dog. This is one of the bad guys.

Story here

Actually, it 's one of the best action movies I 've ever seen.

I 'm surprised nobody mentioned Trainspotting. When they wake up, and they see the baby is dead, he just wants to go shoot again.

I soooo wanna see this.  A mate of mine has the double-dvd of it, so I'm gonna ask him nicely.  He says it's brutal.

Ever seen the movie Bully? It's by the same director of Kids, and I think it's a lot more disturbing. It's another 'based on a true story' type movie, but that only makes it worse.

It details how a sort of slow teenager is convinced by his girlfriend to kill his best friend/all-around jackass in order to stop him from tormenting the two of them. She organizes the whole plan around his murder, bringing in her friends and a local hitman in order to do the job. It's just really eerie and disturbing.

It's worth watching maybe once, but I don't think I could stand it a second time. And I am hardly ever disturbed by movies.

I've heard of this one, and I want to see this one. Man, it sounds strange enough to be good! But why banned here? It's what Survivor will become in the next 10 years anyway.

Is anyone familiar with the earlier work of John Waters? I saw Desperate Living a few years ago, and I thought it was great. I can't say I was SHOCKED, because I knew what kind of trashy stuff to expect beforehand. But still, it's pretty gross, and I recommend it.

Crushproof, Irish film, great violence.

About a young guy who is just released from prison, he goes after the guys who ratted him out (his brother first).

Great scene when he's torturing his brother:
Has him hung from a tree while sitting on the back of a horse (making the horse walk away bit by bit), in the middle of a road at night....... and then a truck comes speeding round the corner!!

Battle Royale is not as wonderful a thing as people say... shocking, sure... but people talk about it like it's an amazing thing your life is not complete without having seen. It wouldn't have become so popular if it hadn't been banned, methinks. Still, entertaining movie, worth a watch if you don't mind the violence and subject matter. Just a movie, though.

I liked "Seven". You know that scene where they think they find a corpse and the man moves on last time... it's great to see it at the cinema. But Morgan Freeman is just adorable everytime I watch a movie he takes part in.
