Wow looks like Sci-fi is canceling Farscape!

I haven’t watched this latest season because I missed an episode and didn’t want to get spoiled…  I hope this isn’t the reason why the show is having problems…

If true that truly sucks, why do the good shows get cancelled and tripe, like reality shows, keeps getting made?

Actually I know, the plebs like reality TV and it is cheap, quality stuff costs  :(

Why why why why would they do this. Farscape has just won tons of awards. They women of Farscape were voted the It sci-fi babes in Entertainmet weekly. The show won the best syndicated tv show at the saturn awards as well as Ben Browder winning best actor. It doesn't stand to  reason they would cancel a show with critical acclaim.
Damn you executives

Just so I know were did you get this information from?

I got it from another board, could be a rumor But I checked a bunch of Farscape Boards and they are all buzzing like a beehive that just got kicked over. I think it was something said in an interview.

Never heard of it. What kind of scifi is it? babylon 5 type or something else. I have heard that it is very good but I cannot watch it because I don't have cable.

I'm afraid it's worse than just cancelled.  They're demolishing the sets on Friday.  Pilot is already packed away in a box.  Man, what a year.  Oh, and since David Kemper thought he had S5 locked, be sure to expect a wickedly cruel S4 cliffhanger... with no resolution.

First Futurama and now Farscape.  My two favorite shows in the same year?

 Yeah I remember hearing this rumor on AICN. I assumed it was bullshit though.

Scifi really sucks. I thought they already signed for seasons 4 and 5? How in the hell is it being cancelled?

There is a anagram of executive: i.e. Execute TV

Does seem pathetically stupid though...  :nono:

Sorry, i really hate Farscape, i don't know why, but i do (perhaps the awful squealing in the original theme put me off). I didn't particaully want it to be cancelled, but i don't feel totally betrayed.

In happier news, Futurama reruns were picked up by Cartoon Network.

In case anyone cares, there's an obligatory effort to save Farscape: http://farscape.wdsection.com/index.html

I doubt it'll happen, but here's hoping. At the very least, they are now only dismantling the Moya sets, rather than destroying them with a chainsaw.

When are cartoon network showing reruns of Futurama?
Any chance they will pick up the show and show new eps?

Some other good news.  SciFi's negotiating for a 2 hour finale which would wrap up as much as David Kemper could wrap up.  Still not as good as a full Season 5, but something.  <-- Strike that, turns out that's a false rumor.

Also Henson productions seems committed to Farscape, even saying that a movie is in the works.  (Of course, all that means is they're looking into it.  Not that anything has been done.)  So there is some hope.

Apparently, SciFi was hoping to keep this news quiet until close to the Season 4 finale.  The news was leaked and David Kemper and Ben Browder confirmed it in an online chat though.  After the leak, SciFi thought that the fan rage wound disappear by today.  But I highly doubt that.

Where did you hear it was a false rumor? I was in the Farscape chat room when Kemper confirmed it(although there was a problem with an imposter at some point--maybe I was chatting at the wrong time. It seemed pretty legitimate to me though).

I also heard rumors of a Farscape miniseries. That would be cool, but I really hope we can get a full season or more.

If Henson wants more than just a quick, acceptable ending, they'll have to go to another network. Scifi might cave into the fans with one more season, but there's almost no chance they'll let it live past that.

It was a "fake DK."  The real one showed up later to debunk it.  Here's the info:  http://www.farscapeworld.com/dcforum/DCForumID10/10.html

Ouch looks like Scifi needed to find some new money after buying the X-files I don't even want to know how much they paid Fox.

Y'see, the Sci-Fi Channel is run by people who, for some reason, don't want to show any actual sci-fi. They'll show lame-o paranormal shows, straight-to-video monster crap, and John Shithead Edwards, but give them a popular, critically-aclaimed, and flat-out brilliant sci-fi series, and they have no idea what to do with it. They're like the FOX of cable.

Would not cancelations in America mean no more production and hence it would effect the rest of the world?

No, if they cancel a series in North America the series is also cancelled in other parts of the world except that a little bit later because for a example in Latin America we just finished watching the 4 season of Futurama so when they show the final episode of a series in U.S.A, for us The End is like 3 months away.

Well suposedly they are doing a Farscape Cartoon now... It could work, (ep Fallen Angel I think) but it will be strange and the whole fun with puppets would be gone. All it said was cartoon, not when it will be shown or the channel so it could be a decent night time somewhat dramatic show or ::Shutter:: Saterday Morning.
