That is the most ignorant thing I have ever heard in my life. The 1930's-1950's Warner, Disney, MGM, etc. cartoons were the golden age of animation. They were made by cartoonists, not script-writers or toy makers. Read more on this at http://web.archive.org/web/20011206210240/www.spumco.com/magazine/jmwriters/jmwriters01.html

The sterotypes in old cartoons were just products of their times. I fail to see how people can be offened by racial sterotypes in old cartoons but laugh at sterotypical jokes in South Park and Family Guy. The Japanese attacked us in 1941 without any reason or warning. They were as hated in the USA back then as terrorists are now. How are "Tokio Jokio" and "Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips" more offensive portyals of Asian people than Leo and Inez Wong.

The Smurfs were some of nastiest characters.  I still remember this line.

Smurf: We're looking for a Smurf that smurfs smurf.
Human: You mean a regular smurf like you?
Smurf: No, I really big smurf!
Human: So, a big smurf that smurfs smurf.

In translation the conversation was about a dragon that breathes fire, but still.

Another episode had one smurf building something at night and Papa smurf yells out of his window.

"Must you do all that Smurfing all night!"

And Smurfette was the only female on the show, except for that little girl Smurf, but that show was sexist.

It's a parody of the Honey Mooners. This particular line was even featured in the second episode of Futurama.

Smurfs are not sexist! It was a light hearted jab at an orwellian style communist state.

I can't remember anything bad from WB cartoons, exept for Sexism, but it was the 30's.

That's my favourite insane internet theory ever. Papa smurf IS Karl Marx.

Oh, and is it just me, or is FFSO making less sense these days?

You're both wrong, VH1's I Love the 1980's Strikes Back doesn't make sense, because they were the ones who came up with that theory.  I just merely mentioned it here.

They also mentioned that He-man, from the old 1980's cartoon was gay.

I don't believe it, but I think it's funny based on the evidence they showed.

I managed to see an old episode of the Smurfs and it was one featuring Grouchy Smurf and how he couldn't swim.  He's able to face his fears only when Baby Smurf's live is endangered.

Papa Smurf comments on that:

"Love will make you smurf things you never smurfed before".

Another episode featured Smurfette having a pet mouse and named it Squeaky.  She has squeaky in bed with her and the mouse squeaks.

Smurfette:  "Oh Squeaky, you make such lovely noises in bed."

I have no comment, I just think it's funny.

I used to have some pictures where there are hidden Sexism/Racism Messages in Disney Cartoons but I can't find them anymore. Well I found these webpages that have descriptions of how Disney is conveying hidden Messages in their productions.

 http://www.math.unl.edu/~bcooley/school/lionking.html
 http://www.uleth.ca/edu/kid_culture/disney/essay.html

EDIT: Wait I think I found three of the pictures I was talking about and one of the pictures I found, it comes with an article that suggests hidden messages in Disney. Unfortunately I can't find the others.

Ask yourself what hidden Messages can you see in these pictures?    ;)

I didn't really look at the others, but that Lion King essay is honestly one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.  If one has to take issue with Disney, take issue with their sweatshops or something, not that contrived bullshit.  Hopefully its intended as a joke.

Incidentally, Snopes has been very good at debunking most of the "sexual" messages in Disney films that aren't really there.  I reccomend that page (they do prove one to be true though....I think it was "The Rescuers" where a painting of a naked woman is seen through a window for half a second or something).

Hmm... See what Snopes has to say about some of that... And some other Disney rumours, too.

I think PEEL is making me more and more prone to ruining people's fun.

EDIT: Beh, Bartman beat me. Still, linkage.

Has anybody heard the Disney "All little girls like to have sex" thing? I think it was "in" The Lion King and Aladin.

There is a myth about "take off your clothes" or something to that effect in Aladdin.  However, again, check the Snopes page to see why it simply isn't true.

I think the best way I've heard it described is that if people want to hear something, they'll hear, despite all evidence to the contrary.

I thought I should make a point that personally I have nothing against Disney, it's just something that has become quite a controversy and so I thought it can a something worth a discussion.

I don't have anything against Disney, Hannah-Barbara or Nickelodeon either, but I am mad at Nick for not having a Classic Nick channel yet and for still having that stupid cast of All That on right now and Spongebob still being on.

Speaking of All That, the 10th Aniversary special is on April 23rd.

Nick has a couple channels with their old shows now actually.  You're other problems with them are probably attributable to you being older.

They're probably attributable to the fact that Nickelodeon used to suck a lot less than it does now.

Indeed. There is only 4 Nick channels that I know of in the US; Nick, Nick 2(or Nick West Coast), Nicktoons, and Nick GAS(old game shows). Nick GAS only shows old game shows, and Nicktoons doesn't show old Nicktoons often enough. Nick and Nick 2 don't pay attention to old programs. That leaves shows like the olde All That, Pete and Pete, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and others not seen. And Toon Disney shows Power Rangers, which isn't a cartoon, and shows all these other cartoons I don't care about. BRING BACK THE OLD!
PS-I also agree that Nick sucked less back then.
