Saw the first seven episodes last night. I see the appeal, but don't really feel the need to praise it for being something spectacular.
Rick's slurring gets annoying after watching 5-6 episodes consecutively, at least the burping does.

It's nice to see a science fiction cartoon that seems grounded in reality* and I do enjoy the "Back to the Future" spoof it sort-of feels like.

Not glad about the Americans getting that awesome season 1 Blu-ray with all those extras. Release it in the UK! :(
Perhaps it'll be region free ? :)

It's nice to see a science fiction cartoon that seems grounded in reality ... and the devil ruined this I guess...

Seriously? Alien sex-bots, mutagenic pheremone-based viruses that destroy human civilisation in hours, interdimensional travel, and almost everything that happens being some sort of nod to classic or popular science fiction seemed "grounded in reality" to you up until the devil showed up? Honestly, I think that an episode with a supernatural bad guy fits right in with that list.

Besides which, if there is no devil, then explain wasps. Since evolution is a natural and amoral process with no inherant bias towards pure fucking evil, the wasp must be the result of Satan's genetic engineering process, rather than a natural creature.

So, the devil is perhaps a more realistic inclusion in the show than some of the other items I have listed.  :p

I said grounded:rolleyes:

The bots and viruses is science working in incredible ways, and you know, being references does help making things acceptable.
I have no problem with the devil himself but with the cursed items that does ironic things to you without any science backing it up.

Then of course I'm now just trying to justify my initial thoughts, and my attempt to do so may be futile, but you see..Wait? Why am I responding?

You can bid on the giant model of Rick's spaceship built to promote the show, here. Currently $135. I believe it includes the models of Rick and Morty.

I've been without internet for the past however many days since I last posted, minus one. The episodes of R&M saved to my hard drive were my only entertainment.

I just thought I'd share that with y'all.

Instead of studying I decided to finally watch more of Rick and Morty. I like it! Nothing has made me laugh out loud except for the cockroach alien getting shot to death in the pilot but it's enjoyable.

Checked out the first couple of episodes of this today. I watched some of the pilot before, but this was my first viewing of the second episode. I like how inspired this series seems so far; you can tell they're having a good time writing for it. I love the balance between typical AS weirdness and sitcom suburbia - really a cool series, I look forward to eventually catching more.

Well, this is yet another preview of Season 2. It seems to just be some random slideshow of Rick saying stupid things..... It makes me a little worrysome for Season 2. I mean the "graassss..... is bad" joke was just terrible. But hopefully those are just the few bad jokes scattered throughout the season.

Posting this here, as there is another discussion going on in the Simpsons thread.

There's a slurm sightning  at 1:07 in the Rick and Morty crossover couch gag.

Plus the PE ship flying by behind Morty a few seconds before that & the male spokesperson for the brain slug party from "A Head in the Polls" at 1:46.

Also, season 2 has been confirmed to start airing on the 26th July. :)

I really didn't care for the pilot (as is evident from my posts on the first page) but I felt like giving the show another spin and good God, it's absolutely excellent.

Episode 2 is my favourite so far (I've watched the first seven) but they've all been good to phenomenal and often in that way where something can be so good that it's almost a little bit depressing - you know, just to know that there are people out there THAT much more talented than you are?

That's odd, maybe it doesn't work on Macs or on Mobile Devices? Cause it works just fine on both of my PCs. I'm just gonna post the link to the video in the previous post for those who can't use it.

But anyways, getting back to something Rick and Morty related.... This season looks promising. I'm sorta hoping they make the show have an ongoing plot or storyline similar to something like Gravity Falls. With the way Season 1 ended, it looks like they just might.

I did a thing that PEEL's TOS doesn't let me talk about openly. I watched them, and I can't wait for Episode Three.

But still, PEEL's TOS exists so that it doesn't end up infringing somebody's copyright and being served with a C&D order. Which, if it happened, could mean the end of PEEL altogether.

Anyway...

Yeah, I was honestly super tempted to talk about the show's leaks when I first heard about them on Monday. I guess it's a good thing I didn't.

Anyways, they were both really good episodes. Glad it isn't that different from the first season. I seriously cannot wait until I get through the whole season.

But, I will still be watching the episodes the day they premiere, that's like the big rule I play whenever I watch a leak. I gotta make sure I still give my support by watching the episodes when they premiere.

Unless you have a Nielsen box connected to your TV (which is unlikely unless you live in a specific area), watching the episode when it airs isn't detectable by anybody and has zero effect on ratings. If you're paying for cable then you're already doing your part to support the networks in your package that carry shows you like, but beyond that it doesn't actually matter if you actually watch the show when it airs on TV or not.

I feel like I've explained this many, many times on this board to different people at different times. No one ever seems to be phased by the information at all, they just kind of ignore me. As if they choose to keep believing that they're making a difference regardless because it makes them feel nice inside. I'm not talking about you, SolidSnake, but the other people I've told this to. Also, I'm joking around.

No one ever seems to be phased by the information at all, they just kind of ignore me.

Fazed. If they were phased, that would seem to imply a transition from being solid to being liquid or gaseous. Personally, I wouldn't expect the receipt of information to do this to anybody.

It could also mean that they were introduced as a concept in gradual stages over a longer period of time than it would take to introduce them as a singular idea, but this also seems unlikely given the concept.

Lastly, it could mean that they were synchronised in terms of vibration, emissive spectra, or the energy levels of any of their sub-molecular components. This would tend to be as lethal as the first kind of phasing that was mentioned.

To be fazed is to have one's equanimity disturbed slightly, or to be subtly disconcerted - potentially in a lasting way.

Hopefully, this vaguely Rick-esque and mostly un-necessary correction (see, it's on topic!) has put your life into stark and bleak perspective.

I think it's the other way around, personally. The first one is a solid episode with a good sci-fi core, and is very funny. But the second one is hilarious, goofy, and also pretty fucking dark at its core.

Which makes it better than the first one by just a smidge. But it's also got something that knocks it up another notch - the wonderfully deranged animation which accompanies the singing. That was bizarre and fantastic.

For the first time in what feels like ages, I actually agree with tnuk. I liked where the first episode went and what it was doing, but the second episode kind of added more to the mix than the first one. Both were really good, though.

I actually have played this for about 2 hours and found ONE new clip! It's insanely immersive and quite ambitious for something that's on INSTAGRAM. Although the one thing I can't wrap my head around, is why Rick's secret lair was open yesterday but now is locked? Seemed kinda odd but oh well. Pretty insane stuff down there, including
. I also love the nods of continuity that can be found in each area, like Snuffles and the graves in the backyard.. Really neat thing the R&M team did here.

*Edit*: And I love all the Great Morty Pamplets that can be found scattered throughout some areas. Really shows you how terrible some of the Ricks treat their Morty's.

The show didn't click for me until episode four, but each after that was great and/or better.

I preferred the first episode of season two, but the second was also good. Looking at the different time dimensions (is that the right term?) was what really made the episode for me.
