Oh man, one of the local car dealerships in my area has the single most annoying spokesperson in Metro Detroit.  This girl sounds all peppy and cheerful, but she has poor posture and will not move her arms, even when it's called for.

We have this warehouse/store in my home city and the owner of the store does his own adds, he just yells stuff at the screen like "CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY". Occaisonally he mixes things up and yells "BARGAIN BARGAIN BARGAIN". He also gets his family to model the clothing. He has his 45 year old wife in counterfiet wu-tang gear.

My faviorate ad is the pergot 206 ad. With the indian guy who moulds his old car into a pergot 206. And they play this awesome indian pop music.

I got that song. It's called Husan by the Bangra Knights. There's a remixed version with xtra guitars, which is done by Bald 'n' Spikey.

I love that beer advert (I think it was for Tetley's) with the Japanese guy and the robot. It's great when he comes back home to find the robot in bed with the vacuum cleaner.

And I love the adverts for Churchill. I don't know why but that talking dog is just cool.

Well I ordered the DVD and I couldn't resist so I got a Honda NSX brochure aswell. Of course there isn't a hope in hell I'll be able to afford one unless I win the lottery or something!

Also like Juliet, I can't stand the Halifax advert where they sing Just a Little Bit. I hated the original song anyway, ruining a good song by Chaka Khan!

There's this really cool advert for Sirius satellite radio. It looks like some online flash porfolio, you know, where it's all high-tech looking and you see these weird but cool 3D shapes moving in the background. There's rap music in the background, and then you realize that the spike moving among the 3D shapes is the needle of a record magnified to small size.

I like the Iron Brew advert where this woman was giving birth to a baby and the nurse have her Iron Brew and you can see a baby arm popping out between the woman?s legs and the arm grabs the Iron Brew and you can hear the baby drinking in the woman's stomach the empty can pop out between the woman's lag and it went in the bin and the baby burp. It was so funny that I almost couldn't breath.

Anybody seen that "ad" for Powerade that quasi-parodies The Matrix? It's only in theaters; I saw it attached to the previews with X2.

I say "ad" because it's sooo goddamn long. I swear it's like 5 minutes. For fricken Powerade.

And it's not even funny.

If you want something related to said Powerade ad that is funny, go here: http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3?date=2003-05-12

If you agree with the strip, click on the "news" tab at the bottom of the strip and scroll down to the post titled "This Is What I Mean." Check out older strips if you're at all into PC or console gaming, too.

Iron Bru ad:
Woman in labour with a nurse saying "Push! Push!" but nothing happens.
So the nurse has an idea, she disapears for a second, then comes back with a can or Iron Bru and dangles it front of the womans spread legs.
Then you see a small arm reaching out to grab the can, but the nurse pulls it away.
Then the baby does a, "Hey, look over there!!" with his finger and grabs the can!!
The nurse gets a stethescope and puts it to the womans stomach, you hear a can opening "pshhht!" and the baby glugging it down.
Then it zooms out to a bin across the room and the can, which is crushed, pops out of the woman and into the bin for 3 points!!

Fucking excellent and I love Iron Bru too!!

This is not an actual TV commericial, but it is one of the ads shown before a movie.

It has a couple at the theater trying to get tickets for a movie, but the title of every movie is actually just its genre description:
"Bid-budgeted But Ultimately Pointless Sequel"
"Action Hero Tries Madcap Comedy But Fails Miserably"
"Poorly Written Remake"
"Painfully Unfunny Comedy"

And on and on; too many to list. Very funny. All too often the movie being watching ends up fitting into one of these categories, though.

I like the Budweiser one where there's a couple watching TV, and she's wearing an oversize sweatshirt. Her boyfriends asks where she got it, she says her old boyfirend, he says he must have been a big man and she says he was.

He asks her why she doesn't wear his sweatshirts, and she says his are just too small. He says, small ones are good too, right? She say yes, but big ones just feel better  :)

They cut to the beer stuff, then they come back and she's playing with his fingers saying, you have the smallest little hands...

It's great.

Hey, yeah... i know this is an old advert now, but if you liked it... try and get hold of a DVD called "Der Lauf Der Dinge" - or translated: "The Way Things Go". It's by Peter Fischli and David Weiss.

Basically it's 2 guys, who bought a warehouse and made a long mofo setup like that of the accord advert. It's got no dialog or music... just pure cause and effect carried out by household items. It's pretty amazing.

I wouldn't order it from Amazon unless you plan on owning it as a VHS copy. Well anyway, I think the accord advert is basically a homage to this film... if not, then Honda hired Peter and David mebe?

My favourite advert on TV right now?

Diet Coke - Girl gets on the train, opens a bottle of Diet Coke and things she passes makes up a sentance... very cool and clever.

Also the VW bug commercial, reverse engineeered from UFO'S.  :laff:

One of my favorite commercials is for IHOP's "Viva la French Toast". For those who don't know, they sing "Vivaaaaaaaaa la French Toast" to the song "Viva Las Vegas." Anyway, the reason it's one of my favorites is because my friends and I had the song stuck in our heads.

Eventually, it warped into "Vivaaaaaaaa vagina!", then "Peniiiiiiiiiis, vagina!", and the strangest of all: "Peniiiiiiis la French Toast!"

As if that weren't odd enough, we went to eat at an IHOP, and they decided to annoy the hell out of the waiter by telling him that I wanted the "Penis la French Toast, with a side of man-meat". Those bastards.

118-118 sucks, and their adverts are annoying. That and they give [gave] you the wrong number so you have to redial to get the correct one!

Women's beauty product adverts suck. They either:
Create a term and say their product has it or they take something every product has that sounds fancy and say "With ..... to provide extra ...."
I mean "Micro-sponges"? I was thinking of making a list.

Have any of you seen the travelocity commercial about the lawn gnome that's been kidnapped from a garden and taken on a ski trip and then pictures and letters from the gnome are sent back to the owners? I absolutely love that commercial. If me and my friends ever come up with the money for a road trip of our own we are so gonna do that.
