Ok, what is the deal here...Why the hell is Fox releasing Kiefer Sutherland's show, 24
on DVD after only one season? I thought they had to wait five or six years...This makes me
so bloody mad that I still can't the first season on DVD here in the US...

Perhaps they don't intend to make more series of 24, so it would never get into syndication, so they can release it to video/DVD whenever they want.

24 is not a seasonal thing, it is a one off season, you can't really do another version of it, it wouln't work out the same.

Yeah, it's true.  I never watched 24, so I don't know if they left room for a continuation or not, but it is coming back in the fall.

It was my understanding there was only 24 episodes, each an hour long, the whole series is about just one day, i.e. 24 hours?

Did I hear wrong, must I get out the punishment mace to smite those who befowled my ears?

(Say yes anyway.)

Edit: Actually they could make a sequel season called 48?

I think it would just be called Another 24.  Like that movie with Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte, 48 Hours, and its sequel, Another 48 Hours.  That wouldn't be very inspired, but hey, this is FOX we're talking about.

Well, they are actually 45 minutes, 15 minutes for adverts. Also, 48 hours would last just less then a year! That would be insane!

AFAIK, Fox tried to syndicate and got what they wanted, so they could go straight to DVD (basically the syndication value was met, the DVDs will make Fox as much money as possible this way).

edit: a little more reading and it seems Fox did find someone to syndicate it, undisclosed.
