Yeah, don't let anyone tell you different;  Evangelion isn't about mecha pilots fighting giant monsters.  It's about what it means to be human.

Yes sorry about that, maybe someone should start an Eva thread :hint hint:. Back to Tenchi, dies anyone know when the third OVA is being brought out over here. I heard it was being released sometime in the summer in Japan but that's all I know.

I wouldn't try starting an Eva thread.  It would probably just be the two of us posting in it, if the anime pic thread is any indication.  Eva pics are just as easy to find as Tenchi pics, but you and I are the only ones who have posted any.

I don't know anything about when the third OAV is coming out.  It seems like they've been talking about that for a while now, though.  Maybe Just Chris knows something about it.  He seems to know about this GXP spin-off series, anyway.

I had heard about GXP already, too; but Just Chris has already seen some of it.  I thought that maybe he'd be a good source of Tenchi info, but that's just a guess.

It's true that this thread is mostly a conversation between you and me, with occasional outbursts from Nurdbot, but other people have posted in it.  There are plenty of Tenchi fans around here.  Maybe they just aren't interested in discussing the relative merits of the second and third films, or whether or not Ayeka is a bitch.

Start an Eva thread if you want to.  I'll post in it if you do; but you should be aware that I've only seen the first eleven episodes or so.

The third part of the OAV should be interesting Kiyone is going to be in it and Tenchi is finnally going to get something simular to a rival.

Yeah I heard thee was going to be a rival, I think i read somewhere it might be Washu's son but that is just a rumour. All I have really heard is that it will be about the Goddess wars which could be interesting.

Actually, we've already seen this rival.  Watch the end of episode twelve closely.  When Tokimi is talking to D3, there is a figure seen standing there.  He's in the shadows, so you can't see his features, but that's the character who will supposedly be this rival for Tenchi.

You heard that Kiyone will be in the third OAV?  I heard just the opposite.  Hopefully you heard right, and I heard wrong, because I'd like to see Kiyone in it.

Yeah and it looks like this rival can also generate Light hawk wings (I'm not intirely sure but it looks like five) haven't heard anything about Kiyone soryy.

Okey I found this picture on the net and like the page it came from I was interested to notice a few things. At first look it looks like Ryoko as and ault and a child but look at the childs eyes they are brown and not cat like. Secondly Ryoko's costume is very Jurian as well as wearing Tenchi's coat thing. This picture is supposible created by the series creator as a preview of OVA 3. Anyway thought you might like to see it.

Hmm I'm starting to feel un nereved about replying to myself. Anyway good news Tenchi fans Tenchi web has updated with a small teaser of the 3rd OVA no new footage but it's definitly a start.
Incidently if you want to see for yourself heres the address http://www.aicanime.com/  if your Japanese is as good as mine, ie you know about practically nothing, you'll have no idea what the kanji says. incidntly could someone who does know japanese translate it that would be nice.
Finding the trailer is not hard and hopefully they will update more often on the site.

Well it's been a while since an update but since the third OVA is so tatalisingly close I thought I'd share this info with you
 

Tenchi Muyo! Another Universe

1. The story of the three chôshin (goddesses) - Lady Tokimi, Tsunami and Washu - will be concluded. The series is likely to concentrate on a war between the goddesses, meaning that Tenchi, Washu, Tsunami and Tokimi will be the focal characters.
2. The mysterious warrior seen at the end of episode 12 and the mini-episode "Here Comes Jurai 2" will appear. At present he is known only as "Z", but this name is likely to change. He appears to be able to summon Light-Hawk Wings, so is likely to be of Juraian descent. The series may conclude with a climactic battle between Tenchi and Z. Both Tenchi and Z could be being used as 'pawns' or 'tools' in the chôshin war by Lady Tokimi.


3. Tenchi will finally choose between one of his love-interests. This, of course, has led to a lot of speculation and debate over exactly who that will be. Naturally, the only way to find out for certain is to wait for the conclusion of the third OAV series!

4. The third series will conclude what Mr. Kajishima refers to as the "first chapter" of the Tenchi Muyo story. He suggests in the interview that a fourth series which takes place after the choushin war and begins the "second chapter" may be produced (however, considering the 7 year delay between series 2 and 3, I don't hold out high hopes for a fourth series in the near future).

5. A new character will join the burgeoning ranks of space women living at the Masaki abode. Noike, Mihoshi's former Galaxy Police partner, will appear in the series. She has already appeared in an episode of Tenchi Muyo! GXP (which is set in the same continuity as Tenchi Muyo!).

Well that's all for now. Now all i need is someone who can translate the Japanese Tenchi site.

Rise my thread rise.

Well there was abit of talk about Tenchi in the anime thread but I did not have anything relevent to resurect the thread with. Until now.

As some of you may know Masaki Kajishima wrote some novels which explained the back story of the Tenchi OVA series. Unfortunantly they have reamined untranslated. That is why a petition has been created (I know most petitions don't work but it's worth a try)
