If only it were Anthology of Interest III maybe I would actually be interested.   :p

But seriously, I have no idea what drew me to click on this thread. Goodbye MLP thread.

Goodbye BPB. *waves*

My night's gonna literally be spoilt by choice - Finish work at 10pm, get home by 11 hopefully, then I've got Doctor Who, a potentially wet quali for the Brazillian GP and mlp to decide upon - what to watch first and what to agonisingly delay until tomorrow?
At least the Cricket need not enter the equation  :nono:

We'll I just seen two new episodes of My Little Pony and I thought it was really good. I am liking Princess Luna even more. Twilight should have her old crown back.

I was a bit worried that the 'taming' of Discord would neuter his character but if what we just saw is anything to go by I think I'm going to enjoy him even more now that he is not in purely adversarial roles.

Has anyone else seen the leaked episode castle mania? I think it's the most random and hilarious episode they've made. Although I knew exactly who was spying on everyone the moment I saw the eye in the portrait move. Also, poor Fluttershy, man that was some dark humor.

I thought it was alright and Rarity was in good form but it felt a bit too contrived to be considered great. Still, not a bad attempt for the writer's first go at an MLP:FIM episode.

One of these days, I'm going to have to give this series another chance. Perhaps I should have watched either more than the first half dozen episodes, or different episodes.

With that in mind, does anybody want to suggest a six-episode playlist that they feel will convert me into somebody who is if not a fan at least doesn't roll their eyes and cast a withering glance every time somebody mentions it?

I recommend watching 'Too Many Pinkie Pies' six times in a row. That's quite an afternoon you'll be having!

How about the next six episodes? There's a continuity after all. But if you really want six random episodes:
Sonic Rainboom
Party of One
Return of Harmony part 1 and part 2
Lesson Zero
Read it and Weep
It's About Time

I would recommend not watching season 3 or 4 until you've seen all of season 1 and 2 otherwise you don't get the continuity and references and injokes and development.

Hmm, it seems like Castle Mania failed to impress a lot of fans and Daring Don't seemed to be very divisive. While I'll agree with the criticism of Castle Mania (unfortunately - there were some good bits) I really enjoyed Daring Don't, I thought it was an excellent episode. It just seems that people seem to stumble over its simple premise. Understandable, but still... :hmpf:

I adored Castle-Mania. My favorite sorts of stories are heavily character-driven like such.

Relatively well written being one aspect of overall quality; not being so good (which is compared to popularity of show). It's just not my thing, but writing is surprisingly good, at least.

I still think some of MLP's strongest episodes are mid-season ones. This might sound daft but it's something I think about Doctor Who sometimes too; the season finales, openers or specials sometimes try too hard, fail to live up to the hype or are simply not allowed to relax enough.

Like for example, with DW, I used to think that the Moffat-written episodes were the highlight of each season, usually, but now he's the show runner and writing all the most important ones... they don't feel so good...
Anyway, [/tangent]

Long story short, be sure to watch some of the episodes from mid-season. TLF's list from further up is a good place to start, though I'm tempted to follow coldy's suggestion. :)
That is, if you want to.

I don't think I could have put it better than Zed. Watching the first two of season one is great to establish the characters, but you've gone and skipped the character and friendship building in season one and gone straight into Season 2 opener? It's a great opener, but I can't imagine anyone understanding the devastation because they don't know the characters well at all. Besides, not all episodes are about fighting villians, there's some awesome slice of life and humor, and sometimes they just deal with annoying antagonists which really can't be classed as "villians". Bad guys/creatures below! Just cause I feel I needed to add a picture.

Although Trixie is both she went from antagonist in season 1 to villian in season 3

and Discord who went from villian in season 2 to, uh "reformed" in season 3 and 4

... I'm going to stop posting spoilers now, you go watch a few season 1 and 2 episodes that are more than just villian fighting and come up with your own judgement.

Best part is Flutterhulk. For the briefest moment Andrea Libman's Pinkie Pie was showing and then they made the voice go deep and I got goosebumps.

I thought Pinkie was more of a Tron reference. Storm Dash was pretty cool, but then again Dash had weather manipulation before she had super powers
