"Just read the Title?"  I've never heard of that movie.

And according to the American Film Institute, it's Citizen Kane.

I'm hesitant to say 'Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring', simply because it doesn't have an ending.  But there's something about the scope and power of the movie that makes it Great.

I was going to point out that this thread already exists here but that is full of scary nurdbot posts  :p

I don't think that there is a best movie it depends on the viewer and what mood they are in.

Alien Series (I am a big fan of H.R. Giger, designer and surrealist artist)

eXistenz

anime: Akira, The Ghost in the Shell, Patlabor I & II (III is out too I heard)

Doberman: A French (yes, French) action movie that is better than much Hollywood crap I've already seen.

I've always wanted to see what The Ghost in the Shell was like ever since actually seeing the trailer in a computer game I used to play.

The director's cut of Blade Runner to my mind is one of the best films ever made.
It improved upon the original several times over.

It's definitly one of my favourite films.

Total Recall and the Terminator series are very good too.

I think for a kids movie, Toy Story II is wonderful. No bad points in the film at all but I would wonder what message it's giving out. Stinky Pete was classed as evil bad guy because his views conflict with the main characters. I really feel for him though because I understand where he's coming from. Nothing really wrong with what they did with him, for a film, but they are setting an example to young kids - I worry that it sets the example of not trying to understand why someone disagrees with you, just screw them.

Don't know if you agree or not.

I must be one of the few people that prefer the original version of Bladerunner.

I was totally underwhelmed by The Matrix, I think mostly because of Keanu Reeves.

I'll probably give the sequels a miss.

My favorite movie is Blazing Saddles.  Won't win any awards from the critics, but I love it.
