If you were bored with it, then just watch something else for an hour.  I'm guessing you have a clock to tell you when Futurama is about to come on.

I don't mean to be mean, but is "King of the Hill" even still on anymore?  Are new episodes being shown?  Cuz aside from this thread and from syndication, I haven't heard jack squat about the show in like years...

Yeah it's still on, Henry Winkler was on the season premiere.  It's just on too early, it should be on after 8pm, screw that fake billionaire show.  Didn't it bomb anyway?

It's one of those things that can't be getting good ratings (even ignoring its boringness and going by its timeslot.)  I guess FOX keeps it around because it's supercheap to animate and they can pay Mike Judge in cases of beer.

I don't think it's boring, just because the dog doesn't talk and it's not in the future doesn't make it boring.

No, the fact that it has no good jokes and two (count them) remotely interesting characters, both of whom are eclipsed by the mundane white bread personality-less family, makes it boring.

Also, it's completely ruined what little respectability Texas had...especially Arlington, upon which the Hills' little nowhere town is supposedly based.

By the way, if they haven't done it yet, expect an episode about the Cowboys moving to Arlen, because the one good thing that happened this past election in Texas was that Prop. 1 passed, giving Arlington the money to build the new Cowboys Stadium.

They did sorta do something like that - there was an episode in Season 3 (I think) where Hank & the gang shot a video encouraging the Cowboys to move there.

I remember that episode.  And if anything, this show made me respect Texas more.  I used to think of Texas as a bunch of rednecks sitting around doing nothing but drinking beer and... nevermind, It's still a good show dammit!

Great show, Dale is hilarious. It's just been reaching it's height recently IMO. I really hope it gets renerewed after this season.

I guess its easier to watch if you didn't live with it for 14 years, and continue to get lame jokes about it to this day.

Incidentally, that's why I hate Everybody Loves Raymond.  That is exatly what my parents will be like in 15 years...

Yeah, sometimes hearing the same jokes over and over again can get boring.  In 2 years or so, i'll be saying that about Futurama, I mean it is a great show, but how long can you stand the same 72 episodes over and over again.  But I love the show, and I own the first 3 volumes, i'll be getting the fourth in January.

Now to get back on topic, I think Dale is hilarious too, but is he ever going to find out about his wife and John Redcorn?
Bill is also cool, but poor poor Bill.

I actually don't mind the show.  It does have it's moments.

Dale is by far the best, hands down.

Obviously there's another show that comes to mind that should still be on, instead of KOTH...

Obviously.  Would you sacrifice the Simpsons to have Futurama back?  I probally would, because the Simpson's best years are behind them, but Futurama is still young, has many great years to go.

bump

I don't know why everyone hates King Of The Hill. I know it's not as good as Futurama, but it's still a pretty good show.
It's actually kind of refreshing to watch a show that is semi-realistic, after watching so many shows that can't possibly be real.
Hank is the best character, maybe after Bobby. I don't really like Peggy though. Luanne, I honestly don't have an opinion on.

On another topic. Any King Of The Kill fans going to get the Season 3 box set. I am. But what sucks about the set is that there are no special features at all. And they're going to be on double-sided DVDs. Those type of discs suck. (All that is from what I've heard, though I don't know if it's true. I'm hoping it's not, but I doubt it.) Just the episodesare going to be on the discs.

On yet another topic, do the Family Guy and/or Simpsons DVDs have character commentaries? They did for King Of The Hill, and those were the best parts of the extra features (Kind of like what Billy West did in "The Bird-Bot Of Ice-Catraz" [as Zoidberg]. and what he and John DiMaggio did in "A Pharoah To Remember" [Fry and Bender, respectively] Those were the best commentaries for Futurama, after the commentary for "Spanish Fry" of course).

I've watched a few episodes of King Of The Hill, and I didn't hear a single joke in any of them. The storylines were uninteresting, the characters were hokey, the plot twists were utterly predictable, and I can safely conclude that this show is a complete waste of airspace which will forever haunt my memory.

Also, I thought this was funny:

My friend is a big fan of KOTH.  I really like Bill, he says he could picture Bill and Zoidberg together since he's a big fan of Futurama.

I like some episodes of KOTH, they do have some funny lines, usually involving either Dale or Bill, but KOTH wasn't as good as Futurama.

Just watched Propane Boom-Part 1. When Hank finds out Dale is using Mega-Lo-Mart propane, and when he jumps over the fence was funny. But what was funnier was when Bill tried to jump over the fence.
But I'm glad Buckley got killed off. He wasn't funny at all.

Yeah Peggy can be very irritating, but I think that is the point.

Luanne is really sexy, that is all I have to say about her.

My favorite character is Dale, then Bill, then Hank.

I like it. Most people hate the show but they don't understand that they want you to hate Peggy and to hate Hank for being uptight, Bill and Dale are the comic relief on that show. Just because it is a cartoon dosen't make it a comedy, And I think they want it that way. It's a cartoon about life and most the time life sucks, that's just the way it is.

Ok ( + 1)

I watch it every once and a while and I think it's a pretty good show. While it's duller than my other fave cartoons, it's still funny. The episode that got me watching it again is the one where Luanne and Peggy join a cult and Hank has to kill emus, but they escape and torture townsfolk because of Bill....

I love it.  It's unlike any other animated sitcom out there now, and that's why I enjoy it.  I'm not a die-hard fan or anything, but I love the marathons, and I'm amazed that they've kept the characters so grounded in their roots after so many years.  There are a lot of lessons that can be learned by this show in that regard.

The Pitts - THAT'S the name of the worst sitcom FOX ever brought to TV!!! I was trying to think of that name for a while now. that show definitely WAS the pitts. I actually liked oliver beene though, especially the commie episode one. perhaps i'll download it...wait that's illegal...i mean...perhaps i'll get someone to download for me...*cough* *points at person who I quoted*   :D

At first I couldn't stand King of the Hill. Now I wouldn't say I love it, but I like it, so my choice is Ok (+1) (btw great options in this poll! i like the variety of options to choose from   :D). I'd have to say that the characters who still annoy me though are Bobby and Bill (oh and definitely Cotton Hill when he appears). It took me quite a while to realize that Connie was Lauren Tom. I LOVE Dale. Personally I think he's the reason that the show is still on the air and is kept interesting for the viewers. Hank Hill is just an oblivious square (hey peggy look...a camera in the bedroom! this is hank hill with the news... :laff  :) and Peggy Hill's incorrect Spanish is so funny to me, especially since most of the time she's messing up the simple ones like "hola" pronouncing it wrong and such. Despite the numerous criticisms of this show, I still prefer it to the likes of American Dad and Family Guy (which does have its moments, but a lot of the times its just fart jokes every 30 seconds). However I don't think they should have KOTH on so many times on Sunday. Right now it's on at 6:30 and 7:30, and Simpsons is on way too much at 6, 7, and 8...just cut out the 7 timeslot and put in Futurama, no matter how crappy the timeslot is I MUST HAVE IT BACK!

Oliver Beene was great. I was just watching an old episode I taped. Great, I say. And the mom and daughter on "The Pitts" were hot, so...I don't know what my point is. Something about Jon, probably.

I agree.  Oliver Beene was the best thing on FOX since Futurama, aside from Arrested Development.
